strollers on trams

Can anyone tell me if the trams that take you from the parking area to monorail have any place to put strollers?

Mine is a double combi and it fold into itself so that three sets of wheels create a triangle. I feel like this is going to be too big for the tram.

Thanks in advance

You have to fold the strollers up. It is a hassle. That is one of the reasons we preferred to rent the Disney strollers, but they don't work for tiny babies (if that is what you have) and I am definitely in the minority with this opinion.

We've never traveled to WDW with a double stroller but I'm familiar with this Combi. You will need to fold it up on the parking lot trams, but it absolutely will fit fine - even just standing next to your legs in the aisle.

If you can, try to sit in one of the front sections of the trams where there are two rows of seats (facing each other) and you should not have any trouble fitting your stroller in there.

Thanks for the responses. I forgot about the front seats facing each other. That will definitely help in our case. My twins are 14 months old, so we aren't comfortable renting the ones at the park.

I always found the double stroller so much easier on the disney buses then the tram. But the combi fits on the front double row of the tram. I think we fit it on a regular row, but it took up so much room there was not really enough room for people.

I had a double the first time we went and from what I remember, it fit just fine.

Definitely wait for the front seat, as they do not allow strollers to hang out the side of the tram if it wouldn't fit in a regular seat.

We took our double and used the trams at MK with little trouble. Definately sit in the front!

We actually walked from our parking spot into AK and DHS because we didn't want to break everything down (plus we didn't have too bad of parking space).

I'm not crazy about the rental fees at WDW... I think they are WAY too high, even if they are convenient.

This is something I always wondered about and is kind of a pet peeve of mine. If you're going to be taking the tram from the parking lot to the park, why bother opening up your stroller at all when you take it from the car. Someone I'm sure can hold the baby, or the child can walk and someone can carry or push the closed-up stroller. It always amazes me when we're getting on the tram that someone has this stroller filled with stuff and a child and then has to unload everything and unfold the stroller to get on the tram. :confused3

It's too hard NOT to unfold with 2 kids under 3. The elder is too excited. It's much easier to lock the older in the stroller while you get everything for the day.

We didn't unfold on our way into MK, we had our system down by then.

You want to know my pet peeve? People who take the tram when you are less than 50 yards from the entrance...

This! After breaking down our stroller (emptying the basket, detaching the diaper bag, etc) once for the tram at the MK I decided it was just easier to walk to our car if possible.

We lucked out on our parking spot at DHS and actually got in the lot right by the entrance. They were diverting traffic to the left, but we told the parking attendants that we saw 2-3 spots to the right so he let us through. Granted we were on the very back row, but it was a breeze to walk it. AK was a little further, but still less than the length of a football field.

All I can say, is that once the system is full running, to break down won't be too bad.

Thanks for your responses everyone. We actually went out and bought two light weight deluxe strollers. Not umbrella, because those wouldn't work for us. We also bought the clips to attach them together.

Thanks again

Without knowing the ages of your kids, I hated the one trip that we had 2 cheap umbrella strollers instead of the double combi. It was even more of a pain on the tram to hold on to the 2 kids and the 2 strollers (plus the clips were a pain)

We walk, too. Kids in strollers is easier to maneuver than kids on laps and folded strollers and someone needs to hold the water bottles that ride under the strollers and that tram's full so let's wait for the next and getting clear of the tramway and unfolding the strollers in the crowd of other stroller-unfolders, now which way is bag check.

I agree! We are not morning people, so we almost never park close, but even if it is a little bit of a hike we prefer walking to riding if at all possible!

You know, I heard the rental price for strollers went up, I understand not wanting to pay that. We have been happily stroller free for many years now!!!

Have a magical trip with your twins OP:wizard:

We didn't enter a park until noon at the earliest. Going into the trip I knew we would be walking. I wore a pedometer the day I went into MK and the best I did was 3 miles, which I didn't think was bad at all. Shoot, I think I enjoyed the sub-concious workout!!!
