Is it better to bring our own strollers, or to rent when we get there? We will have a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

It depends on each family but here are some things to think about.

If you bring your own stroller you don't have to carry the kids between the car/hotel and the parks. We sometimes rent a stroller but then I end up carrying DS back to the car which is tiring for me. So we usually bring our own. But I do worry a little about someone taking our stroller. It's not a super expensive one but it cost enough that I would be upset if it was taken. Obviously I don't worry about it enough to keep me from bringing it though. Also, and this may make the decision for you, DLR doesn't rent double strollers so if that's what you want, then you would need to bring your own. You could rent 2 strollers though. And if you have a disney visa card you get 2 free stroller rentals a day. Another option people have mentioned is to bring a super cheapy stroller for the walk between car/hotel and the parks and then park it somewhere for the day and rent a stroller to use while you are there since the rentals are nicer than the really cheap umbrella strollers. Hope that helps!

We were just there in June with our 2 year old and took our own stroller. I was so glad we did, first she was familiar with it and comfortable in it. Everyday she would fall asleep in it as we were strolling around and we could walk back to our hotel and she'd take a nice nap with DH. It worked great. We have a PegPergo and I wasn't worried about it at all there. Thank goodness we had no problems. I always left our diaper bag and bottle bag in it and didn't have any problems.

Good luck with whatever you decide :)

Last year we had a stroller we would use from the hotel to the park, then when you rent the strollers at the park they will let you check-in your personal stroller for the day. We had the Disney visa so the rentals were at no charge. Another thing I really liked is one day we were at the back of the park and wanted to ride the train to the front to rest at the hotel for a couple of hours. We just left our Disney strollers at the train station rather than walk and when returned later in the day we were able to show our receipt and get two more at the stroller rental.

I am a worrier and would have been concerned using my "nice" jogging stroller in the park but this way I new mine was safe and if someone did take the one I was using, I could get another one easy.

Have fun and watch out for pedestrians! :scared1:

I would have DIED without our sit and stand stroller. For real.

Our walk back to the hotel was a major plus with it but honestly sometimes DS4 NEEDED to ride. There was just no way around it (he was almost 5).

It helped us at the airport IMMENSELY (it held carseats!) and in the park it held our items we didn't want to carry everywhere.

It's all about you and your family, for sure, but I am SO glad I didn't just rent one

We always brought our own, when the girls would fall asleep, hubby and I would wander around downtown Disney and shop or walk back to the hotel and sit by the pool and have drinks while they slept, we loved the 'us time'.

I always left our diaper bag and bottle bag in it and didn't have any problems.

Lucky!

We've had our stroller (rental and personal) moved, we've had a rental stroller outright disappear (you can get another if you have kept the rental receipt), but we've never had a problem with our own stroller, but we've had two things disappear from our stroller, and I'm not giving anyone a chance to do that again!

The things that people leave in their strollers astonishes me...I could have 10 expensive Petunia Picklebottoms diaper bags in one hour, if I were so inclined...and I don't even have a baby but I want one of those (they were too expensive for us to buy when DS was in dipes).

but stroller itself, no real problem (the missing one was an annoyance, though).

We take ours and have had no problems. The convenience of having it whenever/wherever we wanted outweighed the risk of possibly having it be stolen. Its not terribly expensive and we don't keep valuables in it. If someone would have sniped it, we would have rented or bought a new one.

Plus there is something comforting about it with the little ones, being in their "own" stroller that I feel made it easier. :)
