My SIL is going to Disneyland in December, she really doesn't want to bring a stroller from home, I know Disneyland has stroller rental, but she wants to know if there are outside companies she could rent a stroller from for the whole week. Do they have companies like that there? If so, any recommendations? TIA!

I would go ahead and rent from DL. If you have a Disney VISA you can get free stroller rentals. If you rent from DL and your strollers gets misplaced or taken, they will replace it. If you rent from an outside source, it could take a long time before you get a replacement.

Unless she has a Disney VISA, I would recommend bringing her own. The cost of rental would be the same, if not more than the cost of a new stroller. But I understand not wanting to schlep it along too. We go thru this debate every single trip!

Yes, it's the schlepping she is trying to avoid. She wanted to know about the outside rental companies too, so they would have the stroller all week, even outside of the parks. I agree she should just probably bring her own, but she still wanted me to check and see about the outside rental places. (They rented from an outside company 2 years ago when they went to WDW)

I really like the DLR rental strollers. They are easy to push and comfortable for my kids. I think the benefit of 2 free strollers a day alone is worth getting the Disney Visa.

If she really doesn't want to rent, you could always head to Target south on Harbor from DLR and buy a cheapie umbrella stroller for the trip, and then pass it on to someone before you leave.

I see the advantage of renting a stroller for a week, especially if you're staying offsite since the stroller can only be rented once you reach the park.

I haven't tried it myself, but I researched renting from a company for a DL trip a few months back. I'll PM you the website.

I bring an umbrella stroller (so small and portable!) just to get back and forth between the parks and hotel and then swap it for the DL stroller as soon as I get into the park (FREE with my Disney Visa!). They even hold my stroller until the end of the day. The DL strollers are great - so roomy and so easy to push.

We always brougt our own stroller because we used a double stroller, and unfortunately, DL does not offer doubles like other places do. This year will be the first year we are not bringing our double, or one at all for that matter. The older of the 2 is 5 now and can survive most of the day without a stroller, and the younger is 3 and while he still needs a stroller, we will just rent from DL for free with the Disney Visa. If it turns out DS5 needs one, they can swap for a bit, or we can just get another for free!! I know that after park hours we wont have a stroller, but he can ride on dads shoulders or run around with his brothers!!

I also recommend getting the Disney Visa. If she needs a referral, I would be more than happy to provide my referral ID.

HTH!!
