Strollering Along At The World (Finally!)- A PTR (Feb '12)*TR Started 2/12*

Ok I disappeared again. This summer has been so busy between taking care of Alex and all the things we've had going on. I'll try to get on here tomorrow or Thursday with some picture updates. I need to update on the 4th of July festivities. My Grandmother came into town to meet Alex and we had lots of fun with her. Then on July 4th we wound up doing some red neck fireworks in the rain at Chris' parents house. I have a video of it but I can't find it right now :confused3 I'll post the pictures though this week from the cook out my parents did.

We just got back from a trip to Pensacola on Sunday. It was a weekend trip so nothing grand but it was enough to make us realize we probably need to wait to go to disney until Alex is a little bit older. So as it stands right now we're pushing the date back to February instead of Nov or Dec. So that's the trip update for now. I'll have to look at the park hours when they come out and rework our plans for the parks.

Anyways, there are pictures to come. Sorry I tend to get pretty quiet most of the time. My message board days are few and far between anymore.

Unfortunately not :( I really wanted to but btwn money issues and feeling that Alex won't be ready for it yet by then it just isn't going to work out.

:sad2: That can be disappointing.. but you have to do what is right for your family. We were lucky to be able to afford to take dd when she was one.. but if there had been question, I think I would have not done it. She doesn't remember anything from that trip, and while I don't ride the "big" rides, some that she was not able to go on with me kept me from totally enjoying the trip too.

I think when Alex is just a bit older you will be able to enjoy it just that much more as a family. :goodvibes

Carla, I know it is hard to move your dates back but you know Alex will be a little older. Then maybe he will enjoy it more and the drive will definitely be better.:flower3:

It always sucks when you have to push dates back. No one likes to wait longer to see the mouse. But in the end, you will probably be happier for it.

I think Alex will be a great age by Jan/Feb! I've had to push back a few trips and I know how much of a bummer than can be. The good news is that you have Christmas and New Years to pass the time and then when all of the rush is over, it will be time for WDW :woohoo:

It must be disappointing right now...but I am trying to convince myself that all things happen for a reason. I think it would be good to wait for Alex to get a little bigger...not for him, but you! It is tough to juggle a baby and try to enjoy yourself...mommie always seems to the be responsible one and with him a little older you might enjoy the time more!

Soooooo.......

perhaps you can time your Jan or Feb trip to coincide with a 5K weekend!?

:confused3

::yes::

:rolleyes1

Thanks :) It's nice to be validated for our choice in this. Even though it's only a few months more I think it'll make a big difference in how we enjoy the trip as you said.

Thanks Michele, that's what we're hoping for.

Yes it does. I think so and hope so :goodvibes

 is there one in Feb? We told Becca we'd come during her long weekend in Feb which is the 17th.

Yes you're so right! that was the other reason we wanted to wait. The holidays and Alex's birthday plus Disney would be way too hectic. Plus, I've never been in Feb so I'm really looking fwd to it.

Yes it is disappointing but you're so right! Mommy is totally responsible for baby on a trip (learned that when we went to Pensacola last weekend) so hopefully as you said, with Alex a little older I'll be able to enjoy it more as he won't be as high maintenance.

Why yes, Carla, there is a 5k in Feb! It's the Princess Half Marathon weekend and they have a Royal 5k! Feb 21 and 22. :thumbsup2

*Finally editing this to say it's Feb 25th! Whew, that feels better! LOL!

Jumping on for whenever your trip ends up being? Were taking alexa for her first trip at christmas.

Alex is just adorable!

Ashley ~ omg so good to see you girl!!! How the heck are you?? I've been wondering what ever happened to ya. We need to hook up on FB girl. I'll send you a PM.

I actually have a sad update.....we're having to cancel the trip all together. It's not for a sad reason though. We're actually going back to my Fertility Doctor to do treatment to try and get pregnant with baby #2. :woohoo::yay: So we can't afford that and Disney so we're indefinitely post poning this trip. Sorry y'all! I do have a blog though that I update regularly so if any of you want to follow along PM me and I'll give you the link.

Well, congratulations Carla, and quick success to you...It will be a treat to get to take 2 babies to WDW.

Thank you Suzanne :) I'm sad we're not going sooner but Disney will always be there. I'm turning 30 next week so I'm definitely not getting any younger.

Carla, I think this is more of a happy cancellation.

What a happy reason to cancel!!!

Good luck to you. I hope you get a bfp asap!!!!!

WDW will always be there. Our Infertility journey is what brought us to WDW in the first place, so I completely understand. Thirty, you're still a baby..I just turned 38 in June.

:wizard: Here is a little Pixie Dust to help you along. Wishing for a little sister for Alex.

That's funny, I used to babysit a couple of children when I was much younger and the boy's name was Alexander (Alex) and his little sister was Molly.
