I am going to WDW for the first time with 2 yo. Was wondering if we should take our own stroller to the parks or rent one from the park.

Any pros and cons? And how much if we rent one from the park?

Thanks!

we used a cheep umbrella stroler it was easy to fold up and carry on buses and monarail the rentals are great but expensive and you cant take them To/From the parks

If you rent a single from the parks, it is $10 per day unless you purchase multi-day tickets, in which case it is $8 per day.

definitely take your own. Its nice to have one from the bus to the hotel room after a long day.

bring your own, we rented one once and within seconds our daughter was sticky from head to toe from some gooey candy that was in it. I understand this can happen but with your own you'll not have to worry and if she gets messy it's from her own goey mess :rotfl:
it's also easier to spot in a crowd next to all the identical dis stollers
may be more cost effective to use your own, nice to have your own during the rest of the stay...

Here is a concept if you can do it. The stroller did not fit with all the other stuff in the car, so it stayed at home. My 2 year old son walked/rode on our shoulders for 7 days at Disney. (I am 5'5 and managed a 2 yo on my shoulders for the parades, while my 7 yo sat on my DH shoulders) My energizer bunny of a child was worn out by 10:00 pm. It depends on the child, when my daughter was 2 she could have never walked that much without complaining.

I'd take your stroller. My DD is 4 1/2 and I am taking a stroller. The walk from the park gates to the buses or parking lot is a long one, especially after a busy day at the parks.

At 2, is she still napping or sleeping in the stroller? IF so, then I would bring your own. I have a maclaren and I love it- light weight, reclines nicely for an older child etc. It works out well for naps in the park or if they fall asleep on the way out of the parks, so you don't have to carry them. If sleeping isn't an issue (i had one who would never sleep in a stroller) then I think if you can afford the rental, that is just easier. Getting strollers on and off busses and monorails and the tram is just one more PITB that I could do withought.

We generally take our own stroller but have found that it was much easier carrying them in a backpack. We didn't run into people as much and they could see over most of the people there.

We take our own because our kids were most tired at the end of the day while waiting for buses and walking to the room from the bus stop. (If you rent you will be carrying them and all of your things once you leave the park.) They really needed it to rest and DS even napped in it.

Take your own. A 2 year old wont be all that comfy in the rental IMHO. They are hard plastic and dont recline. It is nice to have your own for going from the gates to the busses and at the resorts.

We brought a stroller from home. I have a big stroller system and really small umbrella and neither seemed right for DS (2), so we brought my mom and dad's. It was the perfect size, had a small basket underneath, cupholders above for adults, and recllined for naps. It also folded up really well and wasn't as small as the umbrellas but not as big as the system. It was nice for us because we stayed at POP and the walk from the bus stop to the gates of any park, it seemed POP was always the furthest away. It was nice in the airport too, we just gate checked it. I know there's a rental place too that will deliver to your hotel and has a few stroller choices, abbf.com.

I would definitely bring my own.

It's cheaper, more comfortable and more convenient. Then you'll have it at the airport, DTD and other areas outside the park.

We always had a lightweight, umbrella stroller specifically purchased with Disney in mind (lightweight, canopy, basket, easy to fold etc..). By far our best one was the Maclaren Quest that I got for $129. I used it for 4 trips before my DD outgrew it and then I sold it for $50. :)

We also bring our own. They are used to it and so are we. Just a personal tip, make sure you are comfortable folding it up. We always let the kids stay in it until the last minute when the trams are coming, so I have become a master at getting it folded up quickly.

We took our own stroller the first trip and we could not stand having to fold it and carry it on the bus, monorail, or ferry. It was cumbersome.

The last trip we reneted a stroller once we entered the park. It was the best decision we made. I think the weekly rental was $116 (not sure of that price). I have left over tickets that I will use for our next trip in January. The rental tickets do not expire.

As for the airport, the girls walk. They are getting older and it makes them feel like big people, so they do not care nor complain. :)
