stroller with a 4 year old?

Hi, I'm a new poster who is really excited about my family's upcoming trip to Universal/IOA. We've never been before. I was wondering about how much walking there is at the two parks, particularly if we go back an forth between the two parks during the day? We have the 7 day two park tickets, so we want to not rush around if possible. However, my 4 year old daughter doesn't like to walk for long stretches. Would you guys advise renting a stroller? I was thinking that it might be a good idea to hold packages, backpacks anyway? Thanks in davance! I've loved reading the posts on this board!

There is a fair amount of walking especially if you plan to travel between both parks. I used to rent strollers for my kids when they were younger an that the way to go for a child that is unable to do the walking. It makes it more pleasant for both the parents and the child. You can rent strollers just inside the gates at each park. My kids never complained so they must have found them comfortable. Have fun planning before your trip!

Around 4 1/2 we stopped using a stroller for DD at US/IOA but still used one at WDW. I say play it by ear. Budget for renting one, but don't run get it as soon as you arrive.

People always rent a stroller at disney. Its huge. But Universal, well that depends. Like was said earlier, play it by ear. Do IOA first, then on the way over to Universal, if your little one complains, grab a stroller as soon as you get in the gate. My guess is that they are going to see so much and have so much to interact with, they wont want a strolle....

We used to take along an umbrella stroller of our own that way we could use it in the airport and anything outside of the park.
Now at my age I wish some one would push me along !

My son is 4 and a half, we'll take our umbrella stroller with us but probably leave it in the room unless we need it. I would probably be more inclined to use it if the park is crowded as a way to keep track of him easier than to keep him from having to walk, though.

if you are staying on site, you can always go back to your room easily for a rest for your child or down time.

you could also plan to take a break in the park if you don't want to go back to your room. plan on taking a long break when you eat and just people watch.

there are some attractions where you could sit and take breaks.
such as animal planet (while you watch the show), or the play area near barneys or the "park area with the overhead near mels over at the studios.
