Stroller suggestions?

I have two boys who will be 4 and 6 during our trip to WDW in December. They both can't handle walking for very long. It seems like most strollers top out at like 40lbs for each child. My older son is about 41lbs right now and I am afraid he will end up breaking a stroller. I don't want to rent a Disney stroller though because it would cost about as much as buying one.

Does anyone know of a double stroller that would accommodate older children?

Thanks so much!

I don't know how much you want to spend, but we were just looking at strollers this weekend for our new little one when he/she gets older, and the Combi Cosmo we were looking at holds up to 55 lbs. It was $129.99 at Babies R Us. The Maclarens hold that much, too, but they are even more expensive, and they didn't have a tray with a cupholder, which was a deal killer for me. We folded all of them multiple times to make sure they were easy, and walked with them to make sure they didn't pinch our hands, and we liked the combi on all accounts. The basket is decently sized, too.

Added: Didn't see the double part before - Maclaren makes a double. I didn't look at it that closely because my older kids are way too big for a stroller, but it looked as good as their singles did at a quick glance.

We have the Baby Jogger City Mini Double. My DS6 still rides in it comfortably, when he wants to rest. I think it holds up to 110 lbs total. If I were you I would check into renting one from Orlando Strollers. It pushes EASILY, even when pushing bigger kids! :thumbsup2

While I think you need to look into your options, give the kids some credit. When my son was 4 on his first trip, I thought the same thing and took an umbrella type stroller. The only thing it ever carried was our back pack except for the night we went to Epcot for fireworks and he fell asleep on the way out of the park. Get those kids walking now and at least the older one will be fine. We haven't taken one since and he will be going on his fouth trip this December.

Have you checked out Orlando Stroller Rentals? We used them last summer and loved the double stroller and the service. Our girls were 6 & 2 last summer. Our 2 year old is taller/bigger than most. She's 3 now and is wearing 5s! Both fit very comfy into the stroller. Plus, we liked having it more than just in the parks. I think having the stroller along saved us a bunch of wining. Our older daughter would have been fine walking, except for seeing her little sister getting chauffered around...

I think I have a few pics of the girls in the stroller in my TR. The link is in my siggie.

Have a great trip!!! :yay:

Thanks for the suggestion. My son who will be four by our trip has a sensory disorder similar to children with autism. It is more about him getting over stimulated easily more than him being capable of walking that long. Our other son has a sensory disorder as well, but is the opposite. He doesn't know when he does too much and would go and go until he drops. So we have to make sure he is not getting over heated and drinking enough, and giving him rest breaks since he really just doesn't know when he has had enough. So even though they might be old enough to walk the whole time we have a bit of a complex situation. Thank you bunches for the suggestion though.

We rented a Baby Jogger City Mini from Magic Strollers for our recent trip. My 4 year old daughter weighed 41lbs and was just fine, even when she was in the stroller by herself (it wasn't tippy). It was a DREAM to push - even with my 41lb girl and my 21lb baby! I really liked renting from Magic Strollers because they had a parent organizer and a rain cover (if you request one!). They had great customer service too!
