I have a stroller question - I was reading a Disney guidebook that suggested bringing along a bike lock to make sure your stroller didn't get stolen. Is that really necessary???? Do strollers really get stolen like that?? I haven't been to Disney in over 30 years, so I don't really have a frame of reference, but we did go to Sesame Place this past summer, and not only did we keep leaving our stroller unattended, I even left our stuff in it (my wallet wasn't visible, but it was there, in the diaper bag, often covered by extra clothes and a towel...). I was planning on carrying the bag onto any rides, but certainly assumed I'd leave the stroller with other miscellaneous stuff outside and it would be there when we returned...do I need to rethink that?

Thanks.

I think stroller stealing is a rare occurence, although I have heard of people mistakenly taking the wrong WDW stroller and such.

Still, I would never leave packages, backpacks, purses or the like in the stroller. Too much of a risk, IMHO.

Locking the stroller would probably cause more problems. The cast members often move strollers in the stroller area to get one out, get one in, or make the stroller parking more compact.

We have taken our stroller two times and never had a problem - we never leave anything of value in it.

I would suggest marking your stroller with a tag - like luggage or something else so you can easily recognize it. Another suggestion is bring a cheap rain poncho to cover it if you go in and it looks like rain. Otherwise, your little one may get a wet bottom.

Have fun.

I brought a bike lock but rarely used it because you are not supposed to lock the stroller up to anything, and it was too difficult to get the lock to go through the wheels. I did leave the diaper bag, and such items, in the stroller. I carried my wallet and anything of significant value in my fanny pack. It was nice to have a few things to give to the kids when in line or on a ride. I didn't feel like the stroller was in danger of being stolen.

Oh good. It sounds pretty much like Sesame Place then. The bike lock warnings just sounded so extreme I thought I should check. Thanks!!!

my whole family just did the trip to the World and between all of us we had 2 strollers. One umbrella and one convertible. We lift some items in the stollers (diaperbags and such, no valuables) and didn't have any problems over our 3 days at the parks. They do not want you to lock them because they do move them around to make more room. We especially notice this in the parking area by the Playhouse Disney show in MGM. The parking area is used by everyone in the area so there are alot of strollers and with people coming and going they HAVE to reorganize them some times.
