A few stroller questions:

1. Will the double strollers be big enough for my 7 & 5 year olds? I know they will not make walking all day, so I am planning to rent a double stroller.

2. Do all parks at WDW offer DOUBLE stroller rental?

3. I remember reading about the multi-day stroller rental. How does it work? Does the rental process take a long time?

thanks!

If you are going to be going to the parks for multiple days don't rent. It is very hard to drag a stroller through the airport so a lot of people rent. Rentals get expensive. When you arrive at Disney go to downtown Disney nd purchase a deluxe umbrella (single or double.) They are in the $30 - $40 range as of the Fall. You will want a stroller in more places than just the parks. There is quite a bit of walking in the resorts and Downtown Disney. The umbrella strollers are easy to transport on the Disney buses and are great to have along when your running all over the property. You can contact Mary True at thecruisesource.com for the latest price updates and other kid travel tips. We have 4 kids and have been to Disney a number of time with them.

I debated renting vs. buying for weeks, and then decided to rent. We paid $15 per day for a double. Kids (11, 9 & 6) could walk onto buses and into gates. While in the parks, (stroller pass DOES transfer during the day to other parks or if you leave for lunch and come back) mainly my 6yr rode in it, but it also held the snack bag and backpack. Then during parent swap or parades and eating, they shared it and I even sat in the foot compartment a few times while waiting! It was worth the $45 we spent for 3 days and we didn't hog up bus space like some other parents did (one had a "new" stroller and they couldn't "figure out" how to close it and it took up the aisle. I was SO grateful we weren''t lugging one around and I hadn''t wasted $100 to fit only one child (cheaper ones were too short in the torso for my 6y/o), plus 4 out of 5 in our family were able to benefit in some way from it! hth

Thanks for the info. I brought a stroller w/ me last summer. It was just DD and myself and it worked out great. I was thinking to rent a double since we'll have both kiddos this year. My kids are tall for their age am afraid an umbrella stroller may not work.

I'm in the same position as you, chop456. I have been debating about the stroller issue with my 5 and 8 year olds (when we go) It will be August so I know the 5 year old will never make it all day in the heat and humidity and I'm not so sure the 8 year old will be much better (plus the 8 year old has asthma so I don't want her to be overdoing it everyday). I originally bought a Chicco Caddy stroller for my 5 year old (on clearance for only $25), but I keep going back to the 8 year old (she is definitely way too big for the Caddy). I am now leaning more toward renting a double for them or at least the single and see how it goes ~ maybe they can trade off riding in it. The doubles appear to be big enough for them both ~ I saw many older kids in them when we went a couple of years ago. The MGM strollers are different though ~ more like a jogging stroller with a divider between the seats. Does anyone know if those double will fit bigger/older kids?

I would rent the doubles for kids that age, and yes, I believe every park has a double. You might even be able to go the first few hours without the stroller, but then have the option to rent if/when you need to.

We bring our own stroller because my kids are younger, but if my ds was alittle older I would rent. I am even thinking of just renting a single if/when I find my 5 year old needs a ride (she will be riding on the back step of our single stroller most of the time).
