Stroller Questions

OK I will have 2 kids 1 and 3 years... they typically do not sit side by side very well and we use a sit and stand stroller at home.

Personally I hate it when people take thier own strollers to the parks... they take more time and seem to be a hassle.

I intend to have my ergo carrier but should I get a double stroller at the park? $18 a day seems a tad hefty for a 10 day trip

I am not sure that I understand this comment. Why would you hate something that is a hassle to others? And they take more time for what?

If you have problems with your kids sitting next to each other then you have a couple of options .... put them in separate strollers, bring your own sit and stand stroller, rent a sit and stand stroller, rent a double stroller from Disney. Any which way you look at it you will need a stroller. So either bring your own or you are going to have to fork over the $$$$

I hate being behind them in line, waiting for people to figure out how to close it up or reopen it while blocking others. I think it comes down to, when someone brings their own stroller they still have to hang onto their kid and so the focus gets to be on the stroller and wrangling their stuff and they dont notice they are blocking everyone trying to get on or off the bus or through a gate etc

My husband and I have taken many trips to DW and at some point we get locked behind someone with a from home stroller. The castmembers have the what to do with a rental stroller down to a science and it takes no less time than a person without one ya know

Lets see-paying $18 a day to rent a sometimes uncomfortable stroller that often gets taken by others because they look the same, then having to go get another one, having to carry the kids from the parks to the hotel, often having to wake them up to do so..............I think I will bring my own comfy stroller thank you!

However, common courtsey-remove your kids from the stroller before the bus arrives so you can hop right on, or stand off to the side to wrestle the thing!

I just think a 1 and 3 yo in a hard uncomfortable stroller is worse than a little bit of a hassle on your part.
We always bring our own and have common sense to have the children out and stroller folded when the bus is coming..but if you are in that much of a rush to get on the bus(or off), and have to wait for someone to fold their stroller, then take your own car then you can go as fast as you'd like.
I would much rather bring my own stroller(and my sling and Mei Tei) then have to worry about carrying 3 tired children out of the parks, on to the bus and back to my resort.
WDW is a place for children, there are going to be strollers there, take a deep breath and relax..there is no need to rush, take it easy and let your children take it all in. I hope you have a good time.

Um, gee we bring our own stroller (Mac Truimph) with us and have never had any of the problems you described. I know it happens, we've experienced it a few times behind others but we have never contributed to the "problem". Our stroller folds up in about a second, DD is always out of it as soon as we get to the bus stop/ride line/gate/whatever so it's folded and ready to go way before the bus arrives. Basically we use common sense.

I've been hit more times by the hard rental strollers than any personal stroller since the parents aren't really used to them. Plus they take up alot more room than most personal strollers in crowds and are a PITA to manuever sometimes.

Quite honestly, as we are walking past the looonnnggg lines for stroller rentals in the morning towards the rides with our DD already in hers, I am very grateful we bring our own. Plus we have it for walking around DTD and the resorts.

Back to the original question, doesn't Disney still offer the stroller length of stay rates? The more days you rent, the cheaper they are? Maybe someone can help you with that.

DGS will be5 butthe only way he will make is if he has somewhere to take a little nap in comfort and the rentals don't look comfy for that. We are a little concerned as he is ABIGBOY and not sure will fit in the double stroller we have by then. But as for taking time to fold up that will only happen if I'm the one doing the folding, mechanical I ain't!! I agree with the comments about returning rental and what to do with a heavy sleeping child after return.
