Stroller or no Stroller

In April, I brought my 3yo and 5yo boys. I brought one umbrella stroller and they took turns riding in the stroller. Yes, definitely take a stroller. I chose not to rent one because I wanted the stroller to walk thru the hotel and up to the monorail, and from the car to the park entrances. Sometimes DH would carry DS3 if DS5 was in the stroller. But we certainly had a more enjoyable time because of the stroller.

The Volo is lighter and folds a little more compactly, but the Quest reclines and has a rain cover. I'd get the Quest if it was me and you can afford it.

I did not like the Maclarens. I took my niece (4.5yrs) to the baby store (45 min away) to try out some strollers for our upcoming trip.

When she sat in the Maclaren strollers she had no room on the sides, her feet when not on the footrest touched the wheels or ground. The canopy was small and it hurt her head as the seat back was at the base of her skull.

I ended up ordering a Perego P3 from www.albeebaby.com and had it shipped to the resort. My niece loved how much room she had, her head wasn't hurting with the seat back and it is higher than the Mac's so if she lets her legs dangle-no problem. It has a much larger canopy and even has a rear footboard for another child to catch a ride. I liked the extendable handles!

I can't wait to try it at WDW.

Last year my 2 kids were 5 and 3 when we went to Sesame Place, and it is a much smaller park than any of the 4 at WDW. By the end of the day, I was glad that I had rented a Double Stroller. My DD who hadn't used a stroller since my DS was born was glad she could crawl in next to her brother so she didn't have to walk. Being out in the sun and having so much fun really wears them out. And its much easier than listening to the whinning that one gets to sit and the other doesn't.

I'm a HUGE believer in strollers!!!

My youngest DD is 5, and if she wants a stroller this year, than I'm going to rent one. I'm not going to ruin my day by having to carry her, listen to her complain about being tired, whining, worry about her wandering off and getting lost - no way!!! In fact, I think I just talked myself into getting the stroller before she asks for it:rotfl:

squirrel: do you know what the weight limit is for Peg Perego P3? I tried to find it but I can not seem to find it on the web sites:confused3

And the decisions for which stroller to buy might be worse than deciding what resort to pick.:rotfl:

We would never go without a stroller and my youngest DD is 5 1/2, never runs out of steam and never uses a stroller at the mall or anywhere like that. Disney is just exhausting, and the little ones really can't do all that walking. I have that lightweight Maclaren volo, but I don't use it for Disney. I like the full sized Gracco with the large basket and the cupholders. We stow all of our junk in the basket, and it is big and comfy for DD when she's tired. I also don't worry about it being lost, stollen or damaged in the park or on the plane.

When I went in 2000 when my older girls were 5 and 2 , I brought the double and they used it. We had no problems folding it up and carrying it on the bus.

The Peg website says 45lbs. I'm sure it will hold more though-I have an old double Peg that I use for daycare and have put kids over 50lbs in it and it is still working fine. I haven't found out what the weight limit is for the rear footboard. I did stroll my niece and her friend (rear footboard-she is a lightweight 30lbs max) around the store and it worked great.

We don't have a lot of choices up here unless you go to a specialty baby store. I did spend quite a lot of time looking at different models and reading lots of info on the boards about ones people like. I really wanted to be able to see the stroller in person to make sure it was one that would work for my 43" tall niece. The Aria would have worked, but I would have to convert it into a 3 point harness and even that was tight on her-not much lengh on the straps.

One other thing I found out the Macs are tippy when you put a bag on the handles. The P3 doesn't tip when a bag is on the handles.

Hope you find the right stroller for you.

Thanks so much for the info. I think I am going to go to Babies r us and see if I can try any out that were mentioned.
:confused3

Yeah, there's no way I would even think of doing Disney without a stroller LOL! My kids are 4 and 1, and even the 4 year old rides in it most of the day. Shoot, I'm 28 years old and I wish I had a stroller to ride in at Disney LOL!

I know it was mentioned in page one, but I wanted to bring up a stroller swap. I saw you were going in Dec, I did not know the dates but maybe our swap can help you out! We are doing a double jogging stroller. The weight limit is 100lbs for kids and 50lbs for basket. The cost would be $15 for your dates. Check out the link in my signiture and see if the dates work. Otherwise there are all kinds of strollerswaps that may work for you!

if you go to http://www.strollers.com
this is the stroller we ordered:
InSTEP 11-AR825 - Suburban Safari 2008 Double Jogging Stroller
Part of the Safari collection

I really do appreciate the offer and the suggestion but I am pretty sure we are going to get one of our own so we have it in the airport. The day we leave our plane takes off at 7am so it might come in handy for my 2 year old. Yes he is a morning person for sure but he is a quick one to get tired. Thanks so much though. Hope you enjoy your trip. :)
