We (me, husband and my two boys-ages 3 (just turning) and almost 6). We have never flown with the kids. I would like to take my own stroller so we don't have to rent one at WDW and I would like to be able to use it in the airport. How does that work since you aren't checking it in as luggage? We also plan on using the Mag. Express. Will we be able to bring it on that. The one I want to use is kinda big (not huge), but it has a cart of the bottom (I want this for drinks and stuff). Any suggestions?

As long as you can fold it down, you'll be fine!

What you do is take your stroller to the gate. You will have to fold it and put it through the xray machine where you put your carryon bags. When you get to the gate, check with a airline employee about a gate check tag. Some give them to you in advance, some just before your board. You'll wheel your stroller right down to the aircraft door, fold it, and leave it. The crew stashes it in the cargo hold. When you arrive, they will bring it back to you in the same place, just at a different airport.

I'm sure you'll see tons of strollers on your plane.

You will appreaciate having the stroller in the airport to keep your little ones safe and comfortable.

You can bring your stroller right up to the gate where you get on the plane and they will load it on the plane from there. I would fold it up when you leave it. When you arrive at your destination your stroller should be waiting for you at the gate.

We had a Graco Duoglider and it was no problem as far as size.

we did this in December for our trip. Actually had to buy a brand new stroller about 1 hour before we left due to our old one breaking.

We took it through the airport and gate checked it. When we arrived in MCO, it was waiting at the gate for us to pick up. Took it and headed to baggage and our car rental.

When we got to the car and put everything in the back, I folded up the stroller and then noticed that the back of the seat portion had been scraped up and partially damaged. This was a brand new, out of the box, 5 hours old stroller.

When we headed back to MCO for our return, I went to the proper area and told them about it, showing them the damage. They basically told me that they are not responsible for any exterior damage like that to strollers. They ended up giving me a large plastic bag in which to put the stroller for the return trip.

My advice is...if you are planning on taking even 1 more trip w/ your stroller and don't want it damaged, invest the money in a stroller bag so that you can put the stroller in before gate checking. This will help protect the stroller for scraping and dragging while in transit.

Have a wonderful time.

Yes you can bring it. Definately have your children out of the stroller and it folded up when you get in line to go through security. You cannot wheel a stroller through the metal detector. It has to go through the xray machine. This means you'll want to clear out anything in the storage basket too.

If it is an umbrella stroller, if the flight isn't very full you can sometimes just put it in the overhead bin, but generally you have to gate check it. You leave it, with a special tag, inside the jetway before you board and then pick it up there when you get off the plane.

Also, when you go through security make sure you have *nothing* on that can set off the metal detector (this includes shoes which sometimes have metal supports in the soles that you can't see). Your children have to go through the detector on their own and if you set it off, you cannot touch or hold them until you have been screened with the handwand.
