Hello Everyone,

We are in the market for a new stroller for our baby. She is almost 3 months old and will be almost 6 months when we get to Disneyworld. Any suggestions for strollers that have held up over the years. We are looking for lightweight, durable and one that can recline so Samantha can rest when she gets tired. There are a lot out there and we would rather pay a little more for one that will last than one that falls apart after the trip. Thanks for listening--all suggestions are appreciated.

For that age through toddlerhood, my all-time favorite Disney stroller is the Peg Perego P3. Comfy for baby with adjustable footrest, full recline, padded headwings, floating 5-pt harness, full canopy and snack tray. Comfy for mom and dad - easy fold, relatively small fold, relatively lightweight, great push, high quality, holds a lot in basket and on handles.

I've been checking into lightweight strollers too. DS is 6 months old and his hand-me-down stroller is heavy and combersome for this carpel tunnel mom. I'm saving up for the Maclaren triumph. It only weighs 12 pounds. Looks pretty sturdy. Expensive though. $139 here at Target.

I'll have to check on the Peg Perego P3. Sounds like a good one also. Sometimes just looking around for things satisfies my shopping need for awhile!

I have a Maclaren Vogue which has worked out quite well for me -- I'm vertically overendowed (6 feet tall) so many strollers do not work for me because my stride means I "kick" the back bar of the stroller. I made mistakes purchasing both Combi strollers and Peg Perego strollers prior to trying them out -- they both were too short for me so I will never purchase another stroller without trying it first! My advice would be to get yourself to a stroller mecca and try out different strollers to see which would work best for you.

Defiantely try them out. My 2 yr old is relly tall for his age and 98% of the strollers are too short for him. Plus I have back problems and need a taller handle. I found only 2 that worked for him and luckily one of those worked for me. But it took us over 6 hours and 6 or 7 stores. I did find that Walmart will not allow me to try any of their stroller because they are bolted to the diplays. I was told I would need to purchase all the ones I would want to try, assemble, try and disassemble them. I wasnt willing to spend close to $1000 to try out strollers. I found one at Baby Depot. Its a Graco and I LOVE IT.

I would reccommend one of the inexpensive lightweights by Baby Trend or Graco. You can get one that is light enough to carry in one hand, has cup holders, a big canopy and basket, and a one handed release to calapse it. Its great for older babies and toddlers and wonderful at WDW. It may not last you forever, but you wont spend alot so replacing it will be fun, rather than aggrivating.

we had to buy 2 lightweight strollers for our upcoming DW trip. We went with the Combi City Savvy. It's only about 11 lbs and it has a nice recline. I have been using them and I am really happy. It was about $70 per stroller. My daughter was 5 months when I started her in it. My son is almost 2 and fits great in it as well. We also needed something easy to use through the airport. So simple to open and close...very easy to steer as well. For the money I am pleased with the quality...oh and we have a double jogger, a Graco travel system and a tandam Graco...the Combi is my favorite by far.

I also agree with other response though...TRY THEM OUT FIRST :) :)

Good-Luck :sunny:

I have a peg perego aria for my DD1 we used it once before at WDW. It is very light and easy to fold. Plus it reclines enough so they can sleep almost flat. We love it!

For those of you looking at the Maclaren strollers you might want to consider the Quest. The Quest has an extendable leg rest that you really want for a younger baby. We hung the organizer that Maclaren sells on ours for our trip this past May.

That said, I am taking the Peg P3 this time. The little ones spend so much time in that stroller at the parks and I want my guy to be comfy. I felt the Quest was a little too bare bones for a smaller baby. I think I would take the Quest for an older toddler who gets out of the stroller more and doesn't nap in it as often. I still love my Quest, I keep it in my van and use it at the mall etc. I just think he will be happier in the P3 at the parks this time.

Definetly the Peg Perego Pliko P3. It will last from now until well past toddlerhood, and if you have another child later, your first child can step in too.

I have a Peg Perego Pliko P3 and a Maclaren Techno (among others :confused3 Dh says i have "Stroller issues" :rotfl2: )
This last trip DD was 7mo and we took out Maclaren Techno. Although this steers well and has a recline so DD could sleep we found it way to tippy for our needs. Even if we had a Disney shopping bag hung to the handle it would tip over and we found this very annoying. At Disney your DC might be in and out all day and this would be a PITA. Also the sun shade isn't the biggest and didn't give DD very good sun protection

now the P3 I think will best suite our needs for this trip (I hope so anyway - talk to me after this trip). it isn't tippy like the Maclaren - we use it to hang our SkipHop Diaper bag off of all the time here at home. it also has a WONDERFUL shade that can pull all the way down to the snak tray (or napper bar). It has an umbrella fould just like the Maclaren.

Check out ebay or look around on the internet for strollers. Places are going to start clearancing out their 2005 Peg's and maclarens here in a month or so

Good luck with whatever you decide to use !

Well we looked at the Quest and the Triumph today. The quest just had a handle for your hand to carry. But the Triumph had a shoulder strap. That's the one we got. Two questions:

The organizer you mentioned sounds good. But do the bottle holders hold a sippy cup? I was thinking I'd just get a mesh bag to hang over the back.

Also since this stroller was kinda costly, at WDW, will we be allowed to fold it up and carry it right on an attraction? We only plan on doing the attractions that allow an infant anyway, not the thrill rides. I'd sure hate to park the stroller and find out it got stollen.

We bought our organizer at albee baby online at the same time we ordered our stroller. I think it was around $20? We didn't use it for sippy cups because ds didn't really use them yet. They were great for water bottles and pop bottles. Just to mention - be careful of tipping. We had our video camera bag hanging off the back and a couple times we took out ds before we took the bag off and over it went. :earseek: Luckily we didn't break our camera! :Pinkbounc

We never tried to take the stroller on a ride, but I don't think they will let you. They always have stroller "parking lots" and we left it there. Just don't leave anything valuable on the stroller. There really isn't anything else you can do unless someone wants to sit with the stroller. I felt it was pretty safe and there were lots of strollers - expensive and inexpensive - parked there.

Thanks for the info. I'll run it by dh. Maybe we should get a cheap stroller for WDW.

Thanks again!

Another vote for a Peg Perego Pliko P3! I love ours! The little steps work great for the older kids to hop on. Light weight, folds compactly, reclines, canopy will come all the way down and has a snack tray that is wonderful! The fabric is really nice too. I find the basket to really be a decent size. You have to access it from the sides, but it fits quite a bit. I got a skip-hop diaper bag to go on the back and I'm good to go!

Did you check out the Maclaren Volo? It is only around $99. I know that's pricey compared to a cheap umbrella stroller, but honestly it is worth it. It doesn't recline though so I don't know the age of your little one. My 17 mth old was still able to nap in the Volo because she was leaned back enough.

Anyhow, there are a ton of expensive strollers at Disney so stroller theft isn't something to really worry about. It does happen but I wouldn't worry about it too much. I have always just parked my stroller and it's been fine. You don't want to leave something valuable like a camera or video cam in the stroller because I'm sure that is more likely to be taken.

What's a skip hop diaper bag? Our large diaper bag does not fit in the maclaren triumph basket.

If you decide to go with a cheaper one, I would check out the graco travel stroller, we got one at target last summer on clearance and have loved it. I have had 5 strollers for ds (big travel system expensive one, jogging stroller, cheap umbrella one, double stroller I got at a garage sale, and the graco travel stroller).

While it doesnt have everything the 200 dollar stroller does, we love it for its price (about 35 is what we paid), its lightweight, and it folds easily and is fairly compact. It has a smaller basket (still holds the diaper bag), an adultcupholder, it reclines to almost flat, and has a footrest. There is a sunshade, which could be larger, but it does the job. My only complaints would be that it is a shorter stroller, so ds's head is nearing the sunshade, and he is only just turning 2 (but he is tall for his age).

DS used it at the zoo last summer (9 mo) and we will be taking it to wdw. I actually use it around town more than I do the big one anymore, it is just more convenient. I am not concerned with taking iton the plane because I can replace it inexpensively if it gets damaged.

I dont believe target sells these anymore, but I saw one like it a few weeks ago at walmart, and the one at walmart has mickey and minnie fabric! How perfect! So if you decide to get a cheap one for wdw, i would check this out.
