Hello! This is our first trip to Disney World and I have been reading everything I possibly can! I am a bit of an addict already....

We are going in September for 6 days.

My question is about stroller advice. We have twin boys who will just be turning 5, and a little girl who will be 3. I know we need at least 2 seats for a stroller, they can take turns walking I figure. Right now we are thinking of bringing a sit-and-stand, but haven't ever tried one out. We looked at it at Babies R Us and it looks like one can sit up front, one can sit on the "seat" portion in the back with legs forward, and one could even stand behind him if needed at times. Is this too crazy? Is it hard to fit on the busses (we will not have a car)? I KNOW it's going to be hard to push if all three are in it, but I guess that would be true of almost any stroller with three kids in it!

Also, having never been to Disney before, I have no idea how tired they are truly going to get! Will I want to have something that the 5 year olds could sleep in, if needed? Or get two strollers so they each had a seat at all times?

We are planning to take afternoon breaks back at the hotel and are coming back to the parks in the evening. I think there will only be 2-3 nights that we'll be out past 8pm. Thoughts? Advice?

I'd recommend 2 strollers so everyone can rest. There are always a ton of sleeping kids being pushed around the parks at night. :) Make sure you take a break during the middle of the day. Hop in the pool, take a nap, grab some food, etc. The mid-day breaks will be a life saver.

I have to applaude my DSIL for her stroller usage. She has 3 boys who at the time of our last trip were 4, 2, and 8 months. She used a double Graco stroller and then took an umbrella that could tuck under the basket of the double. That way, the 4 could ride in the umbrella when he wanted while the other 2 were in the double. It worked out too because they could split up if someone didn't want to go to an attraction and not be left without a stroller.

We went to DL for my son's 5th b-day and my niece and nephew (4 almost 5) came with us along with my almost 2.5 year old. We had 3 seats and a place to stand - you'd think that would be fine for 3 almost 5 year olds but NO they fought over sitting down and it drove me crazy! I wished we'd brought our double and 2 singles so everyone could have sat. Neither of niece or nephew ever use a stroller but Disney was a whole other story for them. Not to mention, we walk fast and it was hard to slow down inbetween attractions so they could keep up!

Our son was 2 months shy of 5 on our 2 week trip to WDW and we took 2 Maclaren umbrella strollers. I never regretted having a place for him to sit and he did fall asleep in the stroller. Although when you have to do the bus with sleeping kids and strollers it really isn't easy!

We had a sit-n-stand when my kids were younger and they are tiring to push with all that weight. So, try it before you buy one and yes, they are big and heavy to carry on the buses.

I like the idea of a double and an umbrella that can be folded up if needed. I do have to say that getting on the buses with 2 strollers, 2 kids and bags was a bit of a hassle though.

Thinking this through more....I think in your situation I'd be inclined to bring an umbrella stroller for the 3 year old and rent a double in the parks for the 5 year olds. You'll just have to make sure you take it easy and give everyone lots of rests though so you don't have sleepy kids on your way back to the hotel at night.

I'd skip the sit and stand and take at least one double if you have one - or rent one from orlandostrollerrentals.com (which is less expensive than Disney and would allow you to have the stroller outside the parks). My friend rented this one after reading a great, detailed review here, and she loved it. It easily fit her 5 yo and 3 yo, and the service was great. If you have one double, your 5 yos can take turns (and it sounds like you have a good plan for taking it slow and easy).

Get your 5 yos walking before the trip (6 to 8 weeks before, build up distance), and they will have some stamina.

If you are worried, you could bring your umbrella stroller and rent the double. And then you could leave the umbrella stroller at the resort and use it if needed.

Have a great trip!

My DSIL brought a Sit and Stand last year for my niece and nephew. A couple times my DS4 hopped on the back seat with my DN8. They fit pretty good, so if your twins will be walking some and just need a lift sometimes, you can probably get by with a Sit and Stand and still be able to fit them all on one stroller. (That is if they are fairly small and can get along ;))
