Hello everyone....

We are all set for our trip sept 28th.... Its been a while since we traveled with a diaper bag... We will be going with our 7yr dd and our 1yr old (tomorrow yeah!!) son... I was originally going to take with me to the parks a small size diaper bag. Enough to fit 2 bottles and a few diapers/wipes. I then re thought and decided to take my regular size diaper bag. Extra change of clothes, some snacks etc. My question is when going on the rides is it safe to leave the diaper bag on the stroller? I won't be leaving anything of value in it, except for a few diapers and some snacks. I just can't imagine bringing this bag on the rides. There won't be any room.

Any suggestions would be most helpful.

Thanks

When we took a stroller, we never had a problem leaving the bag in it. I think you should be fine, just don't leave money in it.

I think most people will tell you the bag will *probably* be fine. As long as you won't be devastated if something happens to it, leaving it outside may be worth the very small risk of losing it. Be sure to have something to shield it from the rain if a storm is threatening.

That being said, we always take our diaper bag on the rides and it is not a problem. I loop the bag around my arm or foot so it won't fall out and so I won't forget to take it when I get off the ride. The only rides that are more difficult/impossible to take the bag on (Mission: Space, etc.) are the rides we babyswap on anyhow, so the non-riding parent just holds the bag for those.
BTW our diaper bag is a full-size backpack. We don't stuff it absolutely full so it isn't too huge.

I asked this question of many people for us and the majority said that using a backpack works smoothly. Then you dont have to hold it, but you dont have to leave it, and there is quite a bit of room.

I also bought a little mesh beach bag to hang on the back of the stroller. Cuz I know me, and I am sure that the even if the backpack is packed neatly each morning, it wont be by mid-afternoon! If figure the mesh bag can be the catchall for snacks, sunscreen, sippy cups, maybe a hat.... things that I wont worry about disappearing, and that we will need access to frequently. I figure because it is mesh, and you can see right through it, no one will mistaken it for anything of value!

Have fun!

We've always been fine leaving our diaper bag in our stroller. As long as it doesn't look like a camera bag you are probably safe!

We always left our bag of non-valuables under the stroller. I figure that if a few diapers, a sippy cup, some raisins and a t-shirt and shorts are stolen, it will not ruin my vacation, and it was easier to not have to carry a big bag on all the rides. We did carry a small bag with cameras, wallet, park tickets, and usually a sippy cup and snack (entertainment while in line) on all rides with us.
