Do I have to take my kids out of the stroller and fold it on boat transportation. I will be taking 8 month old twins for their first trip to Disney in Oct and just trying to cover all my bases. Thanks!

I think it depends on which boat transportation you are taking. Which particular boat transportation are wanting to know about.

IME the children can't stay in the stroller on any of the boat transportation. The Epcot resort boats have stroller parking in the rear but you won't have to fold the stroller while some of the smaller boats will require folding the stroller.

They can stay in the stroller on the really large boats they use to get from/to the TTC.

Thanks for the replies. I was specifically wondering about the boat from DHS/Epcot to Beach and Yacht club.

Also, if I drive my car to the parks, can I walk to the front gate from my car or do I have to get on the tram.

I'm trying to avoid the buses and folding/carrying stroller as much as possible.

The friendship boats from BC/YC are large enough where you don't need to fold your stroller.

Some boats are large enough to roll your stroller on, some are not, in other areas of the park.

The parking lots at the parks are huge, so, it would depend on which park and where you end up parking. In general, I would say no, you will need to take a tram and you will need to folk the stroller for that. Busses, same folding deal. I cannot answer for the boats you mentioned. I cannot remember seeing a stoller on them. You can walk to DHS and Epcot from the Yacht and Beach Club. The walk to Epcot is not that bad and it is rather pretty. The walk to DHS from there is a bit long, but, probably no longer than walking from the parking lot to the front gate.

Contrary to what people like to think that isn't really STROLLER parking in the rear of the Friendship Boats. It is really Parking for the disabled for wheelchairs and ECVS! It is extremely frustrating for both the CMs and the disabled when a bunch of guests leave their open strollers in the HC parking area and a disabled guest cannot get their ECV onboard because the guests are seated elsewhere while others have to try and figure out how to fold their strollers up to make room for the ECV or wheelchair. Please recognize that is what the space is for....not open strollers. :)

Um, not so. I was told by a boat driver MANY times that I should just park my stroller in those open spots just inside the doors. Yes, you can park a wheelchair or ECV there, but they are also to be used by strollers.

If you are there for opening, you will most likely not need to use a tram. We have always found it easier and faster just to walk.
However, if you are arriving later than opening, it will depend on how crowded the park is for that day and how far away you are from the main gate.
We arrived at Epcot around 11:30 in April and still found it better to walk. But, it wasn't too crowded that day so we weren't parked too far out.
