String's Atkin's Journal (Please Comment)

 Hi Beth,
I'm sorry to hear you had a migraine yesterday. Those things are brutal. I know just how you feel with the "headache hangover" too. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I will admit the story of the wedding had me tearing up as well. What a lovely thing you did for that couple.

I hope you have a nice relaxing day today, Beth.

I'm so glad you're feeling better today!

I haven't knitted in YEARS! I do prefer to crochet, because when you make a mistake, it's easier to fix. When I used to knit, I'd get so frustrated when I'd drop a stitch and have to repair it. :p Getting the initial stitches on the needle is the hardest part - the actual knitting is easy and very relaxing. If you'd like to take a quick trip to PA, I'd be happy to teach you! :teeth:

Have a wonderful Wednesday, Beth! :sunny:

Hi All,

I'm doing well today. I did 3 circuits at the Y, then 40 minutes on the glider. I think I need to make a new exercise routine. I was putting major miles on the treadmill. I feel better using the glider. It is more challenging, and my knees don't hurt after.
New schedule:
Monday: ?
Tuesday: 1 hour on the treadmill.
Wednesday: Weight circuit and 45 minutes on the glider.
Thursday: 1 hour on the treadmill.
Friday: weight circuits and 30 minutes on the glider.

The reason there is a question mark on Monday is that I start my fulltime hours this week. After 3 12 hour offshifts, I know that I can't just get a quick catnap. Once I am down, I'll be out for at least 6 hours. I'm sure that Wilderness can agree. I need to pick Katie up at noon, so I know I can't lay down Monday after work. Since I need to stay awake, I might as well go to the gym. I have no idea what I will be able to manage, so I am not scheduling anything.

Meals:
B: Tea and MS bar.
L: Salad.
S: Coffee.
D: ?.

I hope everyone is having a great day.
Beth

YEAH!! Beth is back!!!

I am sorry you got that rotten headache, but I am happy you are back with us today. May your hangover be short-lived! ::yes::

That is so cool that you want to learn to knit.... and knit something for your Mom. What a wonderful treasure she will receive!

Watch it and don't push yourself too hard post-migraine.

So glad you are feeling better Beth!:teeth:

The new schedule looks good. Just remember to be a little bit flexible when you begin it. An extra 12 hour shift is going to take a lot out of you, possibly for more than the 1 day. Or it may just take a month or so to reprogram your body. That's why I recommend you be flexible. ::yes:: Listen to your body and don't overdo.

So the extra shift starts this weekend? Yeah for the extra money!:Pinkbounc Boo for the additional long shift!:( But I know you will take it all in stride and make it look like its easy! :p

Keep up the great work with your exercise and healthy eating. You are really doing great this week!:worship:

Beth, you are a workout queen! Great job on your exercise today and the new schedule looks great!

It is so sweet of you to want to learn to knit and make a shawl for your mom, she will be so happy! ::yes::

I'm sorry you were not well, sending prayers that your migraine problems will be healed.

Hi Beth,

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. Migraines are the pits! I've only had a couple of them in my lifetime, but that was a couple too many!::yes:: I am glad to hear that you are feeling better.

I think your workout schedule looks good. I like how you put a ? on Monday to give yourself the opportunity to rest. After 3 (12) hour shifts, your body will need that rest day. Of course, if you feel like it, you can always head out to the gym.

I hope you have a wonderful Thursday! Take care!

Hi all,

Last night was fun, and I did the best I could. We ordered pizza, so I ordered a greek salad and I had toppings off of 2 pieces. I was hungry later, so I had toast and a lc vanilla steamer. Finished up wih 3.5l of water. I am slowly getting back in the groove of lc. I am trying to make it routine again before the holidays. If it is "just what I do", I'll have an easier time of it over Christmas. Of course, with my schedule, I won't be going to any parties, so I won't be tempted there. I am feeling better about the lc thing again, which is a blessing. I am also not going to have any candy until Thanksgiving. I have gotten into the habit of picking up a 2 pack of RS LC mint patties as a treat for work. I won't do that this week. It may be lc, but I don't need the calories or the "chocolate fix".

Plan for the day.
Do the laundry I didn't do yesterday.
1 hour + at the Y. I'll do 4 miles on the treadmill, if I feel like doing more, ok.
Clean the upstairs.

Meals
B: Coffee and MS bar.
L: Salad.
S: Cheese
D: Grilled tuna steak, broccoli, salad.

Ok, I'm off. Have a good one,
Beth

Beth- that is a good attitude going into the holidays. I am glad you are feeling better. Keep up the good word!

That's a very good idea, Beth. When something becomes a habit, it is easier to stick with it. That is a very smart approach to the holidays - get the lc thing going again.

I finished my laundry (finally). Would you like some help?

You are gettin' back in the groove baby! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZSxdm31547US' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_201.gif' alt='High Five' border=0></a> <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZSxdm31547US' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/5/5_1_124.gif' alt='Wakka Wakka' border=0></a>

Good job passing up those Russell Stover mint patties, those things are gooooood!

I think taking Monday off from working out sounds like a plan. You will need the time to recover. Don't be too hard on yourself and let your body decide what you can and can't do. You'll do great.:D

Good morning Beth,

You go girl!:cheer2: Sounds like you are back on track, Beth! Your exercise plan is great and it sounds like healthy eating is right at your door. Woohoo!!:cheer2:

Have a great Friday!:sunny:

Beth, I know you've got a tough weekend coming up and I'm sending you extra special WISH princess: pixie dust :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: to hep you get through it.

Your eating and exercise are amazing! You are truly back on track and I know it will help you throughout the holidays. Just be gentle with yourself as you adjust to your new schedule.

:wave2: Hi, Beth. You S. F. princess: , you. I'm feeling solid in my s. f. commitment knowing you were strong enough to give up those peppermint patties. I'm a little weak at the knees when I think about the peppermint mocha they're offering at Dunkin Donut these days, but I'm not succumbing until Thanksgiving!

Hey, I'll be thinking about you this weekend as you're working these long shifts. I hope you feel strong and supported by the thoughts and prayers of your WISH buddies!

 ,
Erin

Weighin was today. 211. I am down 2.5 pounds in the last 2 weeks. I'm really excited. This is the 1st real loss in a while.

Doe, thanks for the pixie dust. I am dreading this weekend, but I am as prepared as I can be. I made up some chicken salad last night, so I can stay OP for work.
Katie is sick, again. Won is working from home, so I am still headed to the Y for weights and cardio. Yesterday, I was OP and did 4 miles on the treadmill and 20 minutes on the glider.

Plan for the day:
Hit the Y.
Fold laundry.
NAP!
Go to work.

B: Tea and MS bar.
L: Salad.
5PM: Cheese and coffee.
9OM: 1 ham/cheese roll strawberries.
1AM: Chicken salad, refular salad.
6AM: MS bar

Honestly, I will probably drink 7-8 liters before I go to bed tomorrow. I just get so thirsty at work.

I will try to hit journals here and there over the weekend, but I make no promises. I'll do my best.
Beth

Congratulations on the loss, Beth! Woo Hoo!!! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008_ZSxdm31547US' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_1_3v.gif' alt='Scale' border=0></a>
