Beth - I am so glad you are taking good care of yourself this week. You need to nip this virus in the bud so it isn't lingering for weeks on end!!

I am sure Katie is behaving because she getting plenty of one on one time with you this week! :teeth: Not the best circumstances that caused it, but a pleasant by-product of the virus anyways! :hyper:

Beth, I'm glad that you are starting to feel better. I think taking the weekend off from work is a good idea, even if you aren't contagious you still need to rest and recouperate. ::yes::
 
:Pinkbounc :bounce: I am venturing out of the house today. I am being irresponsible, but we are out of food. Won did offer to go shopping, but he never sticks to the list. He doesn't get 1/2 of the list, and gets a ton of junk. It also blows my budget. I just wsnt out of this house too. katie is better, so tomorrow I'll let her go to swim lessons.

I weighed in today. 213. I'm down 2.5. Unfortunately, I know it stems from losing muscle. It has now been a week since I worked out. I feel like a slug, but have ne energy. I have a cough and my throat is still sore, so I can't imagine the heavy breathing of exercise. I plsn on getting back OP Monday. Keep me accountable please. I can feel the excuses already.:rolleyes:
I'm off. I'll hit more journals a bit later.

Do NOT go anywhere near that hospital if there is even the slightest chance you could be contagious, OK? Also, if you are feeling at all under the weather, then TELL them you're still contagious and have the patients' best interests in mind.

Enjoy your time out of the house today - you can only stand to be cooped up for so long. Then hopefully you can come back to a nice nap!

Oh, a few entries back you talked about melted cheese and having to clean the dish. Next time you go to the store, pick up parchment paper (usually next to the aluminum foil and Saran-type plastic wrap). Many people use it to line baking sheets while baking cookies but I also use it in the microwave to cover the dish when I'm melting cheese. The cheese comes right off it and the plate doesn't get messy. :sunny:

No worries about the exercise - you'll get back to it next week. Your body is working hard to kick this virus and needs the energy for that instead of for exercise. When you DO start back, go slow the first few days - we don't want any injuries.

Just to clarify. I called in for the entire weekend this morning. They are short, and suggested I just wear a mask. I declined and called in. They will just have to find someone else.

Katie and I are going for a short walk in a few minutes. It will be nice to get the fresh air. I am just going to take it easy and stroll.

Do not feel terrible about calling in sick for the weekend. Wearing a mask might be effective to keep the bugs from spreading but how are you suppose to explain to patients and families why they'd let a sick nurse care for them?

We are short here at my work too. Our TD has worked the past 3 days with flu-like symptoms...no one to come in for him with this stupid new show debuting. Now all of us are bound to come down with it. No one to fill in for us either. (The old boss sure left us with a great big mess!) Beyond work - which I wouldn't mind missing - I just can't take the time to be sick at home.

I'm glad to read that Katie is feeling much better and will be able to get back to her activities.

Soft-food-wise - I really like the mashed cauliflower they serve at Ruby Tuesdays. Shouldn't be too difficult to make at home if it's something you might like. Spaghetti squash or the new Dreamfield's pasta might be an option too.

Ahem.... did it sound like you were disregarding those 2.5 pounds lost???? I don't think so, girlfriend! I checked your first post and you are down 55.5 pounds since you started!! WOW!!!! You should be celebrating!! That's awesome, Beth!!!!!!

AND you are only 28 pounds from your goall! Don't knock yourself, you are doing great!! You should be SO proud of yourself because you are moving in the right direction! ONWARD and DOWNWARD!!

Keep giving your body some TLC. Enjoy your days. Be a nurse to yourself. ::yes:: Soon you will be strong again, and then you can worry about starting to exercise again.
 
Well, I was bad. My best friend's Mom stopped by when she heard we were sick. She brought us homemade pierogies. These are amazing. She has made them for a charity auction in the past. They are amazing. I am actually proud of myself. I stopped at five. A couple of years ago, I would have eaten a dozen. I went way over my carbs for the day, but it was so worth it.

I managed to get all my CEUs done tonight. WooHoo!:bounce: that is one less thing I will have to worry about.

Plan for tomorrow.
Take Katie to swim lessons and head to the Craft Bizarre at church. I WILL nap tomorrow afternoon.
B will be tea and toast.
L will be salad
s will be string cheese.
D will be a roast with mashed cauliflower and salad.

I'm sorry I didn't hit many journals today. I really needed to get these courses done. It has been hanging over my head.

I wanted to respond to the weight loss I had this week. I am excited to see the scale move, but I am also cautious. I lift pretty heavy weights, and it has been over a week. I know that most of the weight I lost this week is muscle. It will be back shortly, and I am ok with it. I NEED the muscle to increase my metabolism and support my body. I also need it for my job. I will be very excited nextr week, if I maintain my weight. I AM proud of what I have accomplished this year. I have never stuck to sometning for more than a couple of weeks before. I KNOW that the fact that I am making progress towards my goal is the SUPPORT I receive from my WISH Sisters . I am truly blessed to have all of you in my life. I am not diminishing my weight loss. I just don't want to be dissappointed.

Hi all,

Wilderness, Katie got the best features from both of us. We got very lucky. We did one of those composite pictures when I was pregnant. It takes a picture of Momand Dad and analyzes the dominate traits. We were terrified after seeing the picture. :scared: Fortunately, she is a very cute little girl.

I am ready to kill DH. Katie and I had the HFM disease, but he ended up coming home from work with a cold. Read BIG BABY. Well, he decided to share. I have it, and I have sanatized the entire house, so katie doesn't end up with it. I don't feel bad, but I am congested and things are green. Sorry, TMI. I am resting today. Tomorrow, Kate is going to school. i will go to the Y and do my weights. I will do some time on the treaddie, but I will not push myself. I need to do something, I am feeling flabby and bloated.. Katie wants to make brownies, and then we'll head to the park. I am planning a nap for both of us today.

I'm feeling much better today, and Katie is bouncing up and down because she can go to school. Yesterday was BIL's bday, so Won and Katie went to dinner with FIL and BIL. They didn't get home until after 9.:rolleyes: She will definately be taking a nap today, and I'll join her. The only things on my schedule are exercise and cleaning the living room and kitchen.
