String's Atkin's Journal (Please Comment)

Hi Beth! Wow, you've been doing great, down another 2 lbs. Woohoo! I loved reading about your hair in high school. Boy do I remember the goth look! I giggle when I see the goth crowd at my son's high school. I can't believe it's still in after all these years! Fortunately my eldest son hasn't asked to dye his hair or pierce anything. He's a skater so he dresses fairly normal. My youngest, however, is a different story. He's 9 going on 19 (or so he thinks) and has been asking to get his hair dyed since he was 5! Makes me wonder what I'm in for. My middle child hasn't found his niche yet but he's a pretty conservative kid by nature though, keeper of the rules and quick to remind those who aren't following them, always on time, excellent grades and not a drop of rebel in him.

Well, I've rambled on long enough. I'm happy to see you're doing well Beth. Take care!

Hi all.:wave2:

Last night DH suggested we go out to dinner. Who am I to argue? We headed to Red Lobster. Tracy, your meal stuck in my head. I almost caved and had a Margarita, but my waiter was not a cabana boy. I had rock lobster, crab legs, and scallops wrapped in bacon. DH helped with the lobster tail.;) Then I picked up balloons for Katies party. Won was supposed to put together the bike, but when I came home, he was asleep with Kate in her bed. It was sweet. I put together the bike, made up some chicken salad, wrapped presents, and cleaned the kitchen. Woohoo! Do I know how to spend a free Saturday night or what?

I need to take Katie to get her individual picture taken for ballet. The girl does not like having her hair messed with right now. It should be interesting getting her ready. Then it is yard work. I'll bake the cake this afternoon. I don't have a choice on making the cake myself. With Kate's allergies, I need to make one from scratch. I figure if it doesn't work, they poker guys (coming tonight) will eat my mistake.

I'm off. I'll try to check in tonight.
Beth

Hee, hee: "my waiter was not a cabana boy." Thanks for that chuckle to start my day. Take care, Beth, and have a great weekend.

Love,
Erin

Just a quick post. Was Opfor eating, water, meds yesterday. No exercise. Being OP was major because not only did I attend a bday party for Kate's best friend, I decorated kate's bday cake. Today's cake was from my very favorite bakery. My cake turned out pretty great. It's not an airbrushed masterpeice like Chloe's, but DD can eat herbday cake. She hasn't seen it yet, and I'm glad I won't have to do it for another year.

I'm behind of course. I didn't expect to be at Chloe's party for 5 hours. DH didn't eant to leave. While the Mom's did the party thing, the Dad's were in the basement playing poker. Then we came home. I decorated the cake, did the dishes, cleaned the kitchen. He had the guys over for poker night. I still need to clean the bathrooms before I take Kate for pictures. Won will decorate while we're gone. Katie thinks the party s tomorrow.:p

So much for my quick post. I'll check in tonight.

Here's a message from Katie...

Thank you for wishing me a Happy Birthday. It was nice. I had a piece of cake with daddy. It was yummy. You are all nice.
I love you,
Katie

So I showed Katie your posts, and she wanted to talk to my computer friends. She typed her own name.

Pictures were a nightmare. One girl forgot one of her costume changes, so they held everyone up while her dad brought it from home. Okay, call me what you will, but she should not have been in the picture. If the family isn't responsible enough to bring what is needed, I'm sorry, but too bad. We were there for well over an hour.
The party went well. It was my rents, DS, DBIL, Katie's best friend Chloe and her parents. It was small, but controlled Next year will be the full out bash. The bike is too small. We'll have to return it. Katie is ok with it. She is taking it as a sign that she is now a big kid.

I stayed OP. No cake. I did have 4 small chunks of cantalope and 1/2 cup carb smart ice cream, but I feel it was a good choice.

I'll hit journals tonight.
Bbeth

:Pinkbounc Good for you for staying OP and not eating the cake. Your dessert sounds like a good choice and yummy. Your daughter sounds very sweet. It is a fun age isn't it?

Hey Beth!

Way to go avoiding that cake. I have been doing the same thing this past week. My DH baked a caramel cake!Yummy! I didn't even have a taste. You must be proud of yourself for resisting temptation!:teeth: Congrats for staying op!

Hi Beth! Great job staying OP while hosting the party!!! I know it is hard to resist the cake, but it is SOOOOO worth it! You are doing such a great job despite your hectic schedule and many obstacles. I am so very proud of you!!::yes::

I am entering the Dzone. I can feel my anxiety level (and water weight) creeping up on me. It isn't a good time right now. Can't Aunt Flo be a little late, just once? I know that I would feel better, if I would just workout. I won't be able to go today, unless I go after Katie is asleep. I made a nasty discovery today. We have carpenter ants, so Orkin is coming while Kate is in school. Tonight we're going to Johnny Rockets for dinner. Katie wants them to sing and dance for her bday. then bike shopping. I hope to at least walk tonight, but I am exhausted. I still need to vaccuum the house and put together the soccer goal for Katie. I also need to get the playroom back into some sort of order. Hmm...I should start laundry, so I can start packing. Oh, I'm not going to think about it right now. I'll get what I can done, and then the rest tomorrow. Ugh.

Breakfast was cheesy eggs and tea.
Lunch was a leftover brat and water.
Dinner will be a salad and burger.

I need to start pushing the water. I'm off for another bottle now. Thanks.
Beth

Okay beth take big cleansing breaths and make a list - what has to be done and what would be nice to get done and move on from there. Take the pressure off - if you get a walk Great! If you don't then that is okay because you have a lot on your list today.

 and:sunny: my friend!

Hi Beth!

I can see how busy you have been lately. Wow! I'm exhausted just reading about all you do. I am so proud of you for resisting the b-day cake! You made good choices at Red Lobster too.

I know how it can be once you are in the D-Zone. Please take care of yourself, think happy thoughts and even re-read some of your journal entries where you had a sunnier and brighter disposition. That helps me sometimes. Anyway, I was thinking of you and wanted to check and see how you are doing. Please take care!

Just a quick post. Yesterday went all to he##. I picked Katie up at school in a majot Tstorm. My windshield wipers wouldn't work, so we made a trip to the dealership. They fixed it, but it was 2.5 hours. Ended up at Olive Garden. They now have parmesan crusted chicken with broccoli. I substituted more broccoli for the penne that comes with it. I never got to exercise, and the exterminatorscome today to drill holes in all of our walls and put poison in our walls.

I've the exterminators at 8,dnce at 1030, bike shopping, and swim lessons tonight. I hope to workout in there somewhere. It will have to be WATP, I can't make it to the Y a second time in one day. Usually, Won takes Kate to swim, while I workout. Won needs to work late tonight

I will try to get back later today. I'm sending :goodvibes :sunny: to all.
Beth

:sunny: and :goodvibes right back at you, Beth. Keep on keeping on through your busy day.

 ,
Erin

Hang in there Beth!! This time of year is always very hectic for me as well. Plus, you've got the extras that were never in the schedule to begin with (exterminators...)
I know you will find a way to get that exercise in as well. You have such incredible energy for everything. I am especially impressed how you always find the time to exercise on top of everything else you do. You're a real inspiration to me!!::yes::
I hope you end up having a good day. You need it after the day you had yesterday!
Take GOOD care of you Beth!! :sunny:

Sharon and Erin, thank you for checking in on me. It does help.

I'm sorry that I haven't gotten to journals in the last few days. I hope to have some time tomorrow.

I'm holding things together, barely. We've now had a pipe burst just down the street. Road construction hit a watermain. Our neighborhood is a river. Our basement hasn't flooded yet. I came back with Kate and the brand new bigger princess bike to find out yard underwater. I spent my afternoon moving everything to higher ground in the basement. I didn't get to exercise, and tonight I am too exhausted to do anything. I've boiled a ton of water, not that we're drinking anything but bottled for now.

I have been OP. MS bar for breakfast, burgers for lunch and dinner.
Tomorrow's plan...
I need to take laundry to a laundromat, so I can pack for out trip. I need to make a trip to Costco. I will go to the Y while Katie is in preschool. We leave Thursday around noon. I also need to reassemble the rest of the house now that the exterminators are done.

Recap..
1,) Meds 18/18
2.) Water 18/18.
Exercise  I've lost track, but not good. I'll figure it out tonight.
4.) Family 18.18.
5.) Food 18/18.

I won't be home for weigh in. I can't decide if I should weigh in tomorrow or when we get back. I think there will be major damage. We'll see what my mental state is in the AM.

I'm off to bed.
Beth

 Oh, my gosh! Beth, hold fast--this too shall pass. Sending you lots of :goodvibes and  as you weather all of this.

Erin
