Guys, don't give me too much credit. If those cookies were chocolate, game over. Marcia and Erin, I love American Idol. I hate that Fantasia. If I'm completly honest I voted for everyone BUT Fantasia. She annoys me completely, and I want to get rid of her. I liked the 16 year old, Katie, and the guy who sang Walking in Memphis. He reminds me of a guy I dated in High School.

I stuck to my plan. I watched AI, voted, then read in bed. No more eating last night. I'm still waiting for the Whoosh Fairy to show up. I think this period is never going to end.:rolleyes: I'm seriously having cravings today. I keep drinking water and coffee. So far, so good. I've had 2l of H2o. I am going to Curves after dropping DD off at school. DH is giving me the night off. I'm going shopping. I need a pair of pants and a couple of shirts. i also am stopping at the bookstore. Might hit Pier 1 as well. I am very excited. DD and I have been butting heads lately. A break will be welcome.

Breakfast: Morning Start bar. coffee. water.
Lunch: Chicken breast and salad. Water.
Snack: String Cheese
Dinner: Probably a burger somewhere.

Hey, Fantasia is my fav!:mad: She does sound like Macy Gray though who I don't care for either. Guess we'll see how things go as things get tougher. I thought for sure Jennifer would make it to the top two tonight.

OK, I've got to get in on this. I like Katie, but you have to admit that Fantasia has the x-factor. She's got "it." She's funky and, as Simon said, "quirky." Her voice doesn't really do anything for me, but she's got some style. Now c'mon, you know it's true, Beth. Oh, and you dated a guy like that Memphis singer??? What happened to him? I've got to know!

Anyway, had to share a thought about your ride through the dzone, too. You're drinking water and coffee? Beth!! I love coffee as much (or more:p) than the next person, but you've got to lay off it during TOM as much as you can! You're spiking your insulin levels (even if it's decaf you're going to get a tiny spike) and your cravings are going to escalate! Be good to yourself, Beth, and get some green tea into your day. Still a source of caffeine, but less so. The cravings may subside and the antioxidants are wonderful for your complexion, dahling!:p

OK, you've had enough of my opinions for the morning. :sunny: for your new day, and I promise, not another peep out of me!

Well, this is the first chance I've had to get to a computer. I'm going through withdrawl. Erin. I had 2 cups of coffee yesterday. I know I shouldn't have more than 1, but that was what I was craving. Stayed on plan except for the coffee. I drank 4.5 liters of water and did 3 circuits at Curves. Today is busy! My mom is coming over for dinner and the house is a pit. we're baking mini-heart cakes for DD to give as valentines. They are baked, now we need to frost them.

Breakfast: 1 egg 2 pieces bacon. Cup of coffee.
Lunch : Ham and swiss roll ups.


I think we're going to TGIFridays for dinner. I'll have to think about my snack. I'll do the 3mile WATP tape after DD is in bed.

Now about American Idol. I knew Fantasia would make. There is just something about her that annoys me. I did think that Katie would make top 3. I wasn't surprised at all last night. As for my ex, let's just say he was a player and leave it at that.:rolleyes: ;)

I will really try to get to journals tonight. Here I am getting all this fabulous support from all of you, and I haven't had a chance to return it. Sorry about that. Thank you for the support through DZone. The worst is over.

Beth, I'm happy to hear your d-zone coaster ride is almost over! Wish I could say the same for mine, but I've got another week of topsy-turvy fun! :tongue: Now you can relax for a few weeks. Sounds like you weathered the storm beautifully! Good for you!

on to walking in memphis guy...i think he's adorable!! i really hope he gets to come back in the wild card round and picks a really strong song to make it through. i don't know about the other 3 groups yet, since i just started watching, but just in case they don't have a cute guy to be eye candy for me, i need walking in memphis cutie! :p (don't you love how your journal has turned into ai central...i know you do! haha :tongue: )

The :sunny: is shining here! I actually have energy today. I did the 3 mile WATP yest and today. DD and I made a snowman this morning. I'm hoping she'll nap for me today. I'm getting ready for my work marathon. 16 hrs tonight and 12 tomorrow. I'd like to hit Curves tomorrow AM, but it will depend on my night. Breakfast was 2 pieces of string cheese. DD asked if we could go to Baja Fresh for lunch, so I'll have the chicken out of 2 tacos. I've got a quiche to take to work. We're having a low carb pot luck. 4 of us are low carbing it and the other 2 are interested. I still think we should get residuals for anyone you convert to lc. We also do a Valentine's exchange. Michelle is a lc, so I found a box of SF candy a votive, and a cute pair of socks for her.

I do't think I'll have time to journal unless I hijack a computer at work. I hope everyone is handling DZONE and has a good weekend.

Marcia, shopping was frustrationg. Whenever I have money to spend, I can't find anything I like. I think Dzone also made me not want to try anything on. I did find a lot of good books to read though. Thanks for asking.

OK, Beth, let's clear this up right now!:p The other day you said you were having serious cravings. You said you were drinking water and coffee. I said, "Beth, lay off the coffee." You said, "I had two cups of coffee." I'm saying now, "Beth, that's what you call a craving??????????? TWO cups? Let's talk caffeine cravings, girlfriend, 'cause I can beat you hands down." Today I had coffee for breakfast, a large diet coke for lunch, coffee as a snack, and two diet cokes for dinner!!!! Should I run over to your house and tell my pathetic story in person? :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: The other day you had 4.5 liters of water; today I had two glasses! :crazy: but :D , that's me. I guess I should be taking the advice I so freely give to others, right? ::yes:: LOL

You're doing so well, Beth. You are always inspiring me. It sounds like you're coming back into the :sunny: and out of the Dzone; that gives me hope for myself! :Pinkbounc

I have 10 minutes to get out the door. Last night was fun. We now have 3 lc converts. I ended up thawing the cheesecake from the freezer and taking the quiche. I think the cheesecake was the clincher. ::yes:: I'm glad I brought the quiche, or we would have had a dessert fest. I stayeed on program. I did have 3 cups of coffee to get me through my 38 hour day. I went to Curves and did 4 circuits after work. I'm very proud of myself. It would have been so easy to just crawl into bed. I had planned on doing th 2 mile, but decided to sleep instead.

I have ham and cheese, salad, and strawberries for work. I'm taking 3 liters of water. Oh yesterday I drank 4 liters, 3 cups coffee, and 1 Diet Rite. I'm going to try to limit my coffee to 1 Venti today. I'm realistic enough to know I won't workout tomorrow.

I didn't get a chance to get to journals. I will do so tomorrow. I hope all my WISH SISters are getting through DZone. I'm sending good vibes your way.:goodvibes

Thank you Erin. I keep forgetting my poor little bear clippie. I'm all caught up now.

I can now officially be called crazy. We're short staffed tonite, so I'm working another 12hr shift tonite. I;ll probably eat the same thing as last night. I did manage to limit my coffee to 1 venti. Unfortunately, I won't get to journals today.

oh my goodness beth, i won't call you crazy, but i will call your schedule crazy! another 12 hour shift?? are you getting enough sleep? i can see why you need all that coffee!

I didn't have to go to work tonight. I'm so happy. I can sleep like a normal person tonight.:smooth: Work was hard this weekend. Very difficult families. The patients were no problem, but one of our nurses ended up in the ER because of a family member. Glad my weekend is over.

I was right. I didn't exercise today. I am heading to Curves tomorrow. I may also do a couple of miles. We'll see how much energy I have. Mondays are always hard. I haven't slept well this weekend. DD and DH were not playing well together. I tink Katie has the winter blues. She is so whingy and crabby lately. DH definately gets some kudos for this weekend.

I got home at 9am. I ate 1 slice peanut butter toast and a cup of decaf tea. I was starving! I didn't get a break for breakfast, so for my shift, all I had was 1 slice ham, swiss cheese, 1 string cheese, and 5 strawberries. Not good. I also only managed 1.5 liters of water and a diet rite. Ugh.

After I got up, I made a beef/veggie stir fry. No rice. I use cabbage to bulk it up. It was 15-17 carbs. I'm so full. It was very tasty. I've only had 1 liter of water and a cup of green tea. I'll try for another liter before bed.

Oh I weighed myself today. I might take one from Erin's book and kick it. 232.5 I'm up again. I keep my clippie. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll get past 230. I'll just keep plugging along.

Hi Beth,

It sounds like your schedule is very hectic. That can make it so difficult to stay on plan. I hate when the scale either won't move, goes down just a tiny bit or even goes up when you know you are staying on plan.

Take care of yourself and know you will reach your goal. You just have to keep plugging along. I keep telling myself, I have no choice because I don't like the alternative if I give up.
 
hey beth, we definitely need to get everyone together and have a kick the scale party, definitely in order ::yes::

im sorry you're having a hard time getting past 230, i know it's tough to hit a plateau, but i love your attitude of "just keep plugging along". very proud of you for not getting too frustrated to the point of giving up. you can do this! that scale will learn to cooperate, whether it likes it or not :crazy:

i hope you made it through your tough monday ok. here's a little extra :sunny: to brighten it up :)
 
Well, I'll try this again. I've learned not to have more than one window opwen at the same time. I accidentally did my journal post on Lisa's journal. I claim a 3 year old and sleep deprivation.:rolleyes:

I was very frustrated with the scale yesterday. I think I may change my weigh in day. My schedule is so screwy oon the weekends. I think I will feel better weighing in on Wed or friday. I haven't decided yet.

It was so hard to get out of bed today. Last night I couldn't sleep. I had gone into midnights mode. I fell asleep at 3AM. Ugh. I did go to Curves today. 3.5 circuits. I seriosly thought about skipping and taking a nap instead. I'm glad I didn't. I had a good time today. Hmm, does this mean I'm starting to like exercise? I don't think so. I did feel better after I worked out though.
Breakfast: Morning Start bar and coffee
Lunch: Toppings off of 2 slices of pizza and green tea.
Dinner: Double cheeseburger and 2 onion rings. I took DD to Jeepers . She had a blast. I got a headache.
I've had 3 liters of water. I plan on another 1/2 liter before bed. I may also have a cup of decaf tea and a RS candy. We'll see.

Now the good news. I was cleaning my closet today. I decided to try on my engagement ring.IT FIT!!! It hasn't fit in over 4 years. The day I got pregnant, I swelled up. It is actually a little loose. We'll see if it fits over Dzone, but I'm very happy about that.

I've started the pill. I've remembered to tae it 2 days in a row.

Wow, great job going to Curves today after not falling asleep till 3am and having a battle with your scale. It is that sort of thing that can throw you off but it didn't and that says something about what a strong person you are!

Congrats also on your engagement ring fitting! Major milestone...

beth, that is so wonderful that your engagement rings fits!!! :bounce: that's gotta be a great feeling, and help to show you that you may be losing inches even when not losing pounds :)

i'd say changing weigh in day might be a good plan. i mean, of course, over the long run, it shouldn't make a difference what day we weigh on, but we know that in the short run, it definitely shows, especially right after larger eating days ::yes:: . gotta do what works for you!

and i am very glad to hear that you *enjoyed* yourself at curves! who knows, you may just start liking this exercise thing :crazy:

and starting the pill, eh? i dont' know if this is true, but i've heard alot about people gaining when they start. don't know if this is true for you, if you've ever been on it before. but just in case, i wanted to say to not worry if the scale doesn't move for a bit until your body adjusts. i'm sure you know all of this already, but just in case :)

Well, I didn't do my WATP tape today. I think i will TiVo American Idol and do it tonite. I just couldn't get up this morning. :rolleyes: Besides, that way I can skip commercials.

Thanks for the support Marcia and E. I am very glad the ring fits again. As for starting the pill, I'm frustrated at the timing of it. I'm in a plateau and the last time I was on the pill, I gained 25 #. The alternative is surgery. I'll take the pill. I've decided to cut down on my carbs for a while. I will also exercise more. Yes, I did skip this AM, but I'll do it later. I am hoping to maintain this weight. It is for only 3 months. If I do lose, that will be a major bonus. My goal for the next 3 months is to maintain my clippie.

I've given the weighin day some more thought. I will change it to Wednesday. I am sleep deprived and crabby on Sundays. Add a bed weigh in to the mix, and I'm miserable. The other thing is that as soon as I get up, I have to make dinner. It is really hard to weigh in then make a meal on program. Wednesday Morning it is. Uh oh, that means that tomorrow is weigh in.:eek:

Breakfast was an egg white omelet with cheese. Green tea.
Lunch will be ham and cheese rollups. small salad.
Dinner ?
I've had 1 liter of water so far. My goal is 3.5 liters today.

Beth, I definitely think moving your weigh-in day is a good idea! I think you should get your body back to a normal sleep schedule for a few days before you weigh-in because messing up your circadian rhthyms with your weekend shifts can cause bizarre things. I vote for Friday - but you should do what feels right to you!

I know the pill always caused me to carry an extra 10 pounds. That didn't mean I couldn't lose - it just came off slower and I would plateau with 10 pounds left until goal. :rolleyes: I'm hoping your body chemistry will work well with the pill you're on - they've come a long way since I took BC pills in the 80s!
