Great update! No wait for attractions is fantastic!
DL has such a different feel than WDW.

:thanks: Disneyland is so much more intimate and magical than any of the 6 Disneyland/WDW parks. The DLR area is so much smaller too, having only 2 parks, DTD, and no water parks. I love WDW too but it holds a different magic than DL.

I haven't been to DL since 2004. I can't wait to go back.
As of right now, we're planning on going over February break 2013. Hopefully, Carsland will be done by then. Since we end up using all of our points at WDW, we'll book two rooms at either DLH or GCH. I'm still trying to decide. I love the renovated rooms at DLH. But GCH looks like an entire experience.

The GCV is the whole experience! The DLH while magical, doesn't hold a candle to the villas with regard to luxury and that catered to feeling. Maybe you could do a split stay? As far as using all your points, I'm borrowed into 2013 for our October 2012 trip. :rotfl: I haven't seen the renovated rooms at the DLH. My friend just stayed there and got upgraded from a standard to a suite. Of course her DH works for corporate Disney so I'm sure that had something to do with it.

I'm glad you were able to get so much done that morning, and good job collecting fastpasses! :thumbsup2

We're thinking of taking a "parents only" trip to Aulani in 2014, with a few days spent at GCV on the way back. Yes, we plan that far in advance....oh wait, look who I'm talking to. ;)

I was shocked we got to do so much. I love it when the park is empty. It was a very productive morning. Lots of laughs and food too.

:thumbsup2 Aulani looks amazing. That's when we are looking as well. And no kids! It looks very expensive though as far as food and activities go. I guess Hawaii is spendy in general though.

Don't we all plan wat too far in advance? Do you have any WDW trips in the works?

Oh I borrow points too!

I don't mind paying for two rooms at GCH. I find the room rates for the GCH and DLH so much cheaper than WDW deluxe resorts. I'm also pricing out suites at the DLH. The fairytale suite is AMAZING. So is the Pirates suite. If a suite isn't much more than 2 rooms, then we'll go that way.

I need to check the points chart for GCV. If I don't have enough points, maybe I'll just rent points.

Yes, the trip will be late June of 2012 with 4 days at Vero, then a week at Kidani. :yay: I'm planning on starting a PTR shortly after Christmas to go into more details.

Wow when you mass post you really mass post!! Love it. Something that was different to me when I was with Dina and not with the family we walked to the gates and back out of the the gates. We enjoyed DTD. When I am with the family because of my mom being with us we always seem to ride the Monorail in. I prefer going in at Main Street.

The Mark Twain breakfast is one of my favorites, but we tried breakfast at White Water Snacks one time this trip. I really enjoyed that breakfast too.

Great pictures!!

I think renting will be cheaper than getting a regular hotel room. If you can snag $10 a point and do Studios, during the weekdays, it's only abut 20 points per night.

Link me here when you do please. I'd love to read all about it.

:thanks: I love WWS too. Walking through Main St is the only way to go. :cloud9: River Belle was SO good. We had another breakfast out too but you'll have to wait for that update. The food was good but not as good as River Belle's. I think the whole atmosphere makes the food taste better.

For those of you that are also FB friends, I did post an album but left out a lot that would only be appreciated here. No spoilers por favor. :flower3:

I didn't occur to me to get two studios. I think I'm spoiled by the 1 bedroom villas. I love the master baths. I love a nice bathroom. I WISH DVC would do what the Four Seasons did with their St. Louis hotel.... a television built into the bathroom mirror. I'd never get to the parks.:rotfl:

A tv built into the mirror? Do you have a photo? I also enjoy a nice bathroom. The Studio bathrooms are nice too, promise. I prefer a seperate shower tub vs a combo but Studios have only so much space. How many people will be going to Disneyland? How will you split in the rooms?

I have to find the photo. I spent a lot of time soaking in the huge tub watching trash tv LOL.

I just checked Feb. 2012 points. It's less points to get a 1 bedoom than two studios. I may just have to buy more points. :rolleyes1
Not sure on the # of people for DL. And not sure on the # of days. I'm thinking 5-6 nights. The flight is long for us, so it can't be a long weekend.

I saw on your ptr that you have some villa changes. Do tell...popcorn::

I wouldn't do less than 5 days especially if you stay at the GCV. You'll want a night to drink too much at the Hearthstone Lounge, sleep in, and then soak it up with a big fatty burrito from Whitewater Snacks (WWS). :cloud9: And the nachos at WWS are insane.

I spilled the details over on the ptr. I think this will be the final change.

I wish I could do that tonight! A burrito and a drink would be perfect.

Heading over there now :)

Don't you just love DVC? Best purchase EVER!

Absolutely! :thumbsup2 Aside from building our home, DVC and the boat are the best *things* we've purchased. This next trip to WDW will push us well over the break even point for what we paid for DVC. We have 30+ years left to use it. :woohoo: I wish we would have bought sooner.

I know DVC is pushing the world wide destinations but from what I have read, they are difficult to get into. We got into a great resort in Cabo but that was when you could have more than 2 wait lists. I waited 6 possible weeks we could go and I think after 3 weeks, a match came through. I'd love to go to Spain or Italy but can't tell enough about the resorts with the photos that RCI provides. :confused3

Great updates! I totally agree with you that the portions are way too big. We never plan to eat two entrees between the two of us unless it's a Cobb Salad and Chicken Dinner at the Plaza Inn and then we split them both. I've never had breakfast in the parks just because we always talk ourselves out of MM since we live so close and decide we'd rather sleep in and then eat yogurt or a bagel in the room.

We move much slower than your family. If we knock off five attractions in one day, we're doing pretty good. It's nice you have a triathete to send for all your FPs!

I succumbed to addonitis BIGTIME this year, so we're done. I keep thinking we might have a problem using up our points, but so far I have them all allocated through my 2012 UY, and possibly 2013. If they bring F&W back to DCA, I will have absolutely no problem using them all up!

Very nice update on your TR. You really did a lot of attractions that morning and it is good to have a person who can collect FPs so quickly. I always like to go on the monorail all the time even if I am staying on site.

Can't wait to hear more of your adventures.
