Strictly on Buses--CSR v Pop

Hi all and TIA to anyone who offers their thoughts!

We went to the World this past Spring and stayed at Pop-- we really enjoyed it and wouldn't be opposed to staying again. Now that I am planning our '07 trip, I'm looking at trying something new. I had wanted to do a monorail resort (we have a 4DD and 2DS), but since we will only be staying 3 nights and money is an issue-- I didn't want to spend the extra $700 it would cost to upgrade to the Poly, etc.

So-- its Pop or CSR. When we stayed at Pop it was nice having one central bus stop and no other resorts sharing. I'm concerned that my preschoolers will get restless at a resort with multiple stops like CSR.

Any thoughts?

CSR has terrific transportation. It doesn't share with any other resort and it only has 4 bus stops within the resort (one in each village and one at the main building). And since CSR is centrally located, you'll have a quick ride to all the parks.

And being a convention resort, the buses seem less crowded because guests are busy with their conventions.

CSR is the most central to the 3 parks. See the map below.

Actually stayed at both last year.

Pop busses tend to be a bit more crowded than CSR. You have to remember though that Pop is a value while CSR is a moderate.

CSR may have multiple stops but it is within the same resort complex. This way if you are in the Rancheros you don't have a coronary trying to reach the main building to get the bus.

I personally perfer the CSR bus system. 99% of the time they are not crowded and you can easily find a seat. I have never once had to stand on the busses at CSR. In fact a couple of times we were the only ones on the bus. If you can afford it and based just on the bus system, I would go with CSR. (I have heard though that next year there will be no restaurants at CSR on the dining plan-don't know if you'll be on the plan or not but it is something to think about).

I would suggest CSR; the buses at the value resorts, in our experiences, tend to be more crowded. Have you looked at the Swan/Dolphin? They are right in the Epcot area, so have great transportation, and cost less than the deluxe resorts.
Cheers!

my niece loved riding on the bus and still does.

she doesn't get bore - not waiting in the lines is another problem - but riding the bus - not a problem.

We have been to both resorts. We thought the bus service at CSR far surpased the bus service at POP. Yes, at CSR there are multiple bus stops but we have never experienced many people getting on at one time except for DTD, but its that way for all the resorts at night. Plus I would rather be sitting on a bus for a few extra minutes than standing in the sun at POP. CSR has places to sit at the bus stops in the shade. The lines we always very long for the busses at POP and we usually had to wait for a second bus. (which for me is more frustrating than going to a few more stops). POP is such a large resort that there are more people (at least that's what it seemed like to us). I don't know, we felt like cattle at POP, but that is just our opinion. I know there are lots of people out there who absolutely love POP and the bus service. Good luck! :goodvibes

We just returned from our first trip to WDW and we stayed at CSR. We LOVED the transportation system to and from every park. We took the monorail from Epcot to MK and it goes through the Contemp. Resort. I didn't like the looks on the outside. It looked 'dirty'. Not saying it is a dirty resort, but it didn't look inviting to me. We've already booked families to go next time because we want them to see for themselves what a wonderful resort CSR is. It's a moderate resort, but you feel like it's top notch.
