Do any of you feel stressed out about having to pay off your Disney vacation? I have days where I just feel antsy and worried about all the details coming together. I love planning a trip, but the money part stresses me out!

I think that everyone feels some sort of anxiety when it comes to vacationing. My vacation stress centers entirely around the days that we will actually be traveling. Will my flight be on time? Will I get thru airport security on time? Will my luggage meet me at my destination? The money aspect does not stress me out in the least.

Did you make a reasonable budget? Did you stick to a savings plan that was designed to ensure that the money to pay for your trip would be available when it was due? Did you make the appropriate adjustments to your plans when/if your financial situation changed? Did you make plans based on receiving money, gifts or incentives that may not materialize?

If you've done everything possible to make sure that your bases are covered, then relax! :) You'll be just fine.

Our trip this time is huge. It will probably be the last trip with my DD20, and DS18 (we also have DS6) therefore it is a big trip. We are doing 10 days WDW/Sea world vacation, then we are doing a 7day cruise with Disney. Plus my DH is doing NASCAR driving at Daytona. If financial stuff goes wrong, we can cut back on certain parts of the trip and still have a fantastic time. I'm sure it will all be fine, I just get an overwhelming feeling sometimes.

I've always stressed out when paying the non-refundables. With my husband in business for himself I always sort of felt like I was holding my breath from the time I booked airfare or or bought tickets to a date-specific event because I knew there was always the possibility that something would come up that got in the way of him traveling with us. The second before I click the "book" button on the airline web site is without a doubt the most stressful point in trip planning. I don't really relax until we're through security at the airport. And the bigger the trip, the more I feel it.

Looks like your going in May 2013? We are going May 8th - 26th and I know the feeling about the airfare! It always feels like the point of no return. I already paid for the flight home and will be buying the flight down tomorrow! So exciting and nerve racking at the same time! Im at the point where I have to get real strict with our spending and make all my planned payments. :scared:

I don't usually stress over the payment for several reasons, one being that we don't plan a trip unless we can pay for it right then, so ours are usually paid off before we even book. And thankfully, we've never had any issues with needing to cancel/change anything, although we almost ran into that this time. I was stressing over that for a while.

We leave in 2 days, and my stress right now, is the impending hurricane. While part of me is glad that we'll be away if / when it does hit our area, that's also where the stress is. We live in an apartment, so we don't have the same concerns as a homeowner, but we'll still have 1 car in the parking area (which is surrounded by trees, so I have to hope none fall on it) and there could potentially be damage to the apartment itself. Combine that with the fact that we lost power for a number of days on 2 separate occasions last year, and I'm a bit nervous about that. We have a freezer full of food and I really don't want to have to throw it all out when we get back if we lose power for any length of time.

Yep. We'll be arriving just before you leave. Just my son & I are going, May 24-27 for Star Wars Weekend.

I'm planning our next trip , and there are so many options ! My husband always tells me it'll be fine, whatever you choose will be perfect, but boy! is it hard figuring out everything ! Do we fly ? From burlington ? From NYC ? Do we drive ? Dining plan or OOP ? Stay offsite or not ? :confused3:
I think i need a break from planning !

My one tip if you are going to be away and are worried about not knowing how long the power might be out. Freezer a dixie cup full of water. When it is solid, place a quarter on top.

If you come home and the quarter is in the middle or bottom of the water, you know that the power was out for an extended period of time.

Thanks! That sounds like a pretty good tip!
