Streamlining Guest Services

I needed to go to Guest Services at DHS today. Upon arrival there was no line which surprised me. I was asked my name and the purpose for being there. It was entered in an ipad and I was placed in a virtual queue. We found a place in the shade until someone came to find us, in less than 5 minutes. Has this been in place for a while or is this new?

Weird. That's not what we experienced at MK or Epcot a few weeks ago. Didn't try guest services at DHS or AK.

Walked through GR at DS Westside in January and I noticed no one in the queue but CMs holding iPads. Didn't think anything of it at the time.

Being able to wait in the shade was so much better for us than direct sun where the queue would have been. I hope this wasn't just a fluke and continues!

We had that at DHS on March 6th. We went to convert a 3-day ticket to a seasonal pass. The man at the front door had an Ipad, asked us our name, what we needed to do, and told us to sit down, and someone would be with us shortly. Not 5 minutes later, another CM came up to us and had us go into the GR office. Much better than waiting in line.

Saw this happen when @hiroMYhero came, they are not having any lines and have added some benches around GR.

I also remember seeing no one in that area but did think all the benches were a nice addition - I was the only one waiting in that area.
