My 4 year old is in love with TNBC. What is the best strategy to make sure that we see these characters? I am hearing that people start lining up around 5. Should I get in line for us then to hold our place?

The last two yrs that they have been meeting they are busy. I go to usually the first and second parties of the year and people are lined up early. I saw them as early as 3:30/4pm. Remember they don't always come out at 7pm. Sometimes it's been 7:15 or later. I did notice the line was shorter during the first parade was about to begin and during a bit of it. That's when I hopped in and still waited over an hour. The line did get a tad smaller towards evenings end. Not sure how long they stayed out though. If it was til close or just after 11pm.

We met Jack and Sally for the first time last year at MNSSHP. We got on line at 6:10-probably.....20 groups in front of us? J & S came out right at 7:00 and we were finished at 7:40 so while we were on line over an hour, it actually only took 40 minutes once they came out. Since they're in the front of the park we didn't see their line again but overheard people during the coarse of the party commenting that their line was long. This was also the first party of the year last year and attendance was VERY low. My point here is that maybe getting on line prior to the party starting will still involve a time commitment but won't so much cut in to actual party time.

As far as "holding a place", you could do that. Some will say definitely don't as it's totally frowned upon while others will say it's totally fine. I'm not giving my opinion either way :). I'll just say this: when we got on line at 6:10 there were about 20 people in front of us. By 6:50 there were about 45 and it was very annoying every time more people joined their family/friends "holding their spot" as we realized it would take longer until we actually got up there (more pictures would be taken, more "interaction" would take place). Whatever. We experienced a little annoyance for a really cool meet and greet :thumbsup2

We did the party on the 30th last year, we got in line after dinner at Crystal Palace, I'd say around 6 or so. We were expecting to wait given what we had read but the line was moving as they were already out. So they might come out earlier depending on the day.

I'd definitely do it first, if you get in line before the party officially starts, less party time you spend in line. Jack is very chatty though which can slow down the line

We met them on our party night after the parade and fireworks before we had to go to the Sinister Soiree (don't remember specific time). There was no line! It must have been a fluke! Around the same time we passed the seven dwarfs and there was no line for them either (maybe it was during the second parade???)

We tried meeting them right around 7 and were told the line was 2 hours. We came back immediately after the first parade had passed that spot, and the wait was down to about 15 minutes.
