Will be visiting parks June 4-8. With the pending opening date of May 27th for the Guardians of Galaxy ride (previously TOT), what is the best strategy for riding this first thing in the morning? Would you recommend going to Guardians first and grab a fast pass and then head to Radiator Springs and ride it Standby? Or would you go to RS and get fastpass and then over to Guardians and ride it standby? Is there another option I am missing?

Those seem like the options. Do you care if you ride GotG first thing, or just with minimal wait? I'd probably get that FP first, but if it's as popular as new rides usually are, you will probably have to wait a full 2 hours to get another FP. If RSR single rider is an option, do that.

If I wanted to ride it in the morning I would be sure to be at dca early. They typically open the gates thirty minutes early, so aim for at least 45 minutes before opening. I would either grab a FP for guardians and then ride it or just ride it and get a FP for RSR later. I think you could do both so long as you're early. I wonder if the new ride will be more popular than the new soarin. The soarin FP don't seem to disappear any faster than when it was CA. I have a feeling the new Guardians ride is a bigger change and will hold popularity a little longer. It will be good to have another popular FP people have to choose between.

Guardians during the first 6 months of operation will be the first attraction to sellout of FPs.
RSR will be close behind that.
Similar to what happened during the first month of Soarin Around the World being open.

The good news is that TSMM and Soarin FP will last a bit longer.

You also will need to take into account Maxpass and the option that people may have by retrieving FPs through their phones.

Thinking ahead...
- I would grab FP for RSR as I expect that FP line to be much easier to get through in the morning once Guardians is open. Note: If I had the Maxpass option, I would still do the same thing but it becomes a bit easier cause I can get my RSR FP while I am in line for TSMM.
- Then head to Paradise Pier and ride TSMM without FP. Again thinking most guests will be heading to Guardians or Cars Land first, which gives you more time with fewer guests at Paradise Pier. After TSMM, then Screamin, Mickey's Fun Wheel, Symphony Swings, Goofy, Zephyr, grab WOC FP, Mermaid, then Grizzly
- Head to Hollywood Land, ride Monsters Inc., grab FP for Guardians, ride Bugs Land attractions, use FP for RSR
- Once you can get your next FP, you want it to be for Soarin.

How long do you think that will be until your get the FP? A few hours for the nine attractions you mention?
That would likely put your return time pretty late in the day, wouldn't it?
How long do you think FP for GotG will be available?
Am I remembering correctly - would FP for RS be gone by noon when its was at its peak? Would you expect a similar limited time crunch for the new GotG?

thanks!

I expect Guardians to run out by 11 and RSR to run out by 1.

I expect to be able to pull Guardians FP as your 2nd FP by 930 or 10. Return will probably be around 6-9

TSMM has no height restriction, and unless they make GotG really long, has a much lower capacity of riders per hour. Once people don't have to go to the back of the park to get it, I wouldn't be surprised to see that start running out first or second.

I still think with Max Pass guests who have it will try to get FP for Guardians first and RSR second.

However, with the additional price I don't think Maxpass will actually sell that well with the local guest who have more than 3 per group especially when they find out that you can still get FP for free by walking to the machine.

Would this be your same strategy during EMH?

Such a good question! Since our first park day is usually a half day starting late afternoon/early evening.. I would just check out the ride and see what's up in terms of lines and when the fastpasses sold out for the day. Personally, I find the RSR regular line the worst this ever soooo going off of that i'd probably just get a fastpass for that right and jump into the regular line and ride Guardians that way. However, only time will tell.
