My family has been to WDW a couple times before and we were always rope drop people, riding everything and leaving for the afternoon before the crowds get there. Next Monday and Tuesday I have a conference and will be hitting the parks by myself about 4 pm. Any suggestions for what parks to go to, things to do, etc? I like to ride some rides but I'm also thinking it might be nice to just enjoy the atmosphere and see some shows, etc. that we didn't always do with ride-crazy kids in tow. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

All of the parks are pretty easy to hit at that time. If you can get a FP+ reservation it would make it even nicer. AK might close early but if you can get three hours in the park you could ride a lot of rides. The other parks would be based on whether you want to see Fantasmic at DHS (If it is playing). Walk the countries and illuminations or hit MK and see the parade and fireworks. Check schedules for shows and parades etc...

If you do not have a park hopper you might skip AK as it closes early. I would hit a park with a show.

I think I would hit EP on Monday and plan on a small plates dinner at the new Spice Roads just before Illuminations. Unless you already have tickets, you'll have to wait til you get to the parks to schedule FP. If you have tickets, I'd FP either Soarin' or TT whichever is your favorite, for early in the evening (4:30ish) and ride Spaceship Earth on my way in. After the FP, I'd just stroll around WS seeing all the things that are difficult to see with children in tow until time for my dinner.

Tues would be either MK or HS. Again, if you can do FP+ reservations, my leaning would be MK, so I could ride the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. But if there are shows at HS you've not seen, I might head that way to catch those and have that experience to share with and encourage my family to see them next time.

Also just an FYI if you are going on the 16th-17th the Journey cover band will be playing SLS at Epcot and if you are going the 23-24 the Beach Boys tribute band will be playing. Trust me they may be tribute bands but they are worth stopping by especially if you like the original bands and its something to do besides the norm at Epcot...also the last show ends just in time to get great spots for illumintions.

Thank you for the ideas! I love Journey, and will be there the 16th and 17th so may need to check them out!
