Well, we're just back from our long weekend trip to the World! We had a great time, and by strategizing were able to do everything we wanted to do!
Day 1: Friday 5/19/06:
Arrived at MK at 8:30 am to watch opening show. After rope drop, trekked over to Buzz for a FP and rode SM. Then on to Snow White and Peter Pan (poor DBF got dragged along on those two "kiddie rides", although he loved PP!). Then a quick walk over to Splash, and walked on to that as well. By the time we walked back over to Buzz for our FP, the line was PACKED. We walked right on. Suckers! By 10:30 am it was really crowded and we were out of there.
Monorailed to Epcot and grabbed FP for MS. It was the first day of the "less intense version" of the ride. CM's were handing out "boarding passes" for the green team (less intense) and orange team (more intense). Then did El Rio del Tiempo to beat the heat while we waited for our FP return. Rode MS Orange Team and loved it as usual. We noticed that most people were still choosing the more intense version of the ride. Walked WS and lunched at Tangierine in Morocco. We found Epcot to be a lot less crowded than expected. Finished off WS and headed over to Beaches and Cream for a No Way Jose!
Day 2: Saturday 5/20:
8:10 ADR at Donald's Breakfastosaurus. Waited at rope drop into Dinoland, then at rope drop into Asia. This was a great strategy, and we reached Everest before the HUGE crowd being led though Asia. The CMs leading us actually put us through the FP lane and we rode EE in the front row. AWESOME! The Yeti is HUGE! By the time we were off the ride and ready to grab our FP, the standby line was up to 30 mins and growing FAST. Got our FP for EE and went off to ride Dinosaur twice. It was our first time and we loved it! Went back for our FP return and rode EE in the last row. Definitely better in the back! Got our free photo, and were on our way to MGM! By that time (around 11:00 am) AK was PACKED and we were happy to be on our way out.
Arrived at MGM just in time to grab FP for RNR and ride ToT with a 15 min wait. After riding our two fave rides, we walked around and took in some Star Wars sights. Then off to DtD for some lunch and shopping.
Did MK that night...The park was not too crowded and we were able to ride Splash and SM a few times, while mainly enjoying the atmosphere.
Day 3: Sunday 5/21:
At MK for opening, rode SM and Buzz, and Splash two times in a row.We ate lunch at Columbia Harbour House at around 11:00 am and then had some ice cream. The park was a lot less crowded than we had expected. We went back to POFQ for a well needed nap.
Woke up and went off to MGM at around 5 pm. NO WAIT for ToT, and walked on three times in a row and could have kept going! Then did RnR with a 20 min wait (even the FP line was long) and decided to walk around a bit. Walked over to the Star Wars area and walked on to Star Tours to the delight of DBF.
Left for MK at 9 pm for Wishes and EMH. The park was PACKED, but we managed to get a great spot for Wishes, which made me cry as per usual. I had never gotten to see Tink fly down from the Castle, and I am still in awe of that! Then we ate some hot dogs and ice cream and waited for the crowds to die down, which they did fairly quickly. Rode TTA, SM (twice) and Buzz with no waits. Got back to POFQ at around 1:15 am.
Day 4: Monday 5/22:
Got to Epcot at opening and grabbed FP for Soarin'. Rode MS Orange Team in our own capsule! We sat in the middle and completed all the tasks! That was a lot of fun. Rode MS Orange another time, and then TT. Did Soarin' first row and LOVED it as usual. Then did Journey into the Imagination (bit of a disappointment) and then back to POFQ to get ready to go home : (
The crowds were not terrible, and again, by getting there at opening we were able to do everything we wanted.
