Strange Warning!

I am wondering if anyone else had received this warning. Unfortunately, I didn't print the screen, so I do not have the message verbatim, but it warned both my friend and me that what we were saying could be seen by others, and that we should be careful. It popped up in a window on screen, and I also received it as a message from VMK Staff. We were not threatened with a ban. We were not saying anything personal about ourselves. We were talking about a mutual VMK friend whom we have recently suspected to be a predator. We were talking about how inappropriate his behavior is for an adult and that we were embarrassed that it took us so long to figure it out. Why would that get us a warning?

It doesn't matter if you're talking about yourself or someone else; if you use certain words or phrases, they can set off an automatic trigger for a warning.

Always safest to not repeat something in your VMK chat that was said or done by another player, when there's a possible violation involved.

But if you have serious concerns about someone acting like a predator on VMK, I would suggest using "Contact Us" (rather than the report button, which can get tricky) to tell them about it.

Hmm...I didn't repeat anything that he said, so there would be no issue there. I did say that he tries to "get girls," so maybe that did it. Perhaps I should drop VMK a line though. The thing is, like all excellent predators, he is very subtle and it would be difficult to prove.

Yes...it happened to my DH just now.. I was on him and me both and he had just come off of the pan ride.. hadn't move from under it and this message pops (a warning of could be banned) up? So tell me what the heck is going on?
He hadn't said anything or even moved? All I know is that isn't right? All day long I can see people ask about being taken or people use bad lanaguage.. and I don't see anyone (staff) saying thing to them??? We don't say anything we just keep to moving for fear if we contact we will get baqnned ourselves! Yet he comes off the pan ride and then a message pops up of not to give out persoanl message as a warning?
This jsut isn't right!!!

VMK can always check the chat logs for themselves. The nature of the behavior in question, and the possible risk to other players, are something I expect they would want to investigate.

Just be very careful in your wording, and don't blow anything out of proportion.

I don't know the situation, of course, and you should probably not repeat it here, but if it has anything to do with "taken/not taken", I don't think VMK will consider it a problem, regardless of the ages involved. But hopefully, inappropriate comments or attempts to exchange personal information would be taken seriously.

I think it would still be prudent to bring him to the attention of VMK staff. They just might keep an eye on him. I would at least hope that they would understand the feelings from an adult and want to do what they can to keep the children as safe as possible.

I think perhaps you are correct.
