Strange tip about blisters!

use spray antipersperant-not cream deodorant-
the point is to keep your feet from sweating,
slipping and rubbing blisters. I have had more
blisters than I care to remember-blisters on
blisters even! BUT...be careful to wash your
feet well each night and don't use too much-
often I can skip a day because your feet don't
sweat much even the 2nd day if you don't apply
the antipersperant. My feet got itchy the first
time I did this because they were not able to
sweat. So, I am very careful about not overdoing
this remedy-it might cause swelling and rashes
from overheating ones feet-sweat is a natural
way for ones body to expel heat

Well, I used the deoderant thing for blisters and it worked great....The one day I blew it off and didn't put any on....got two blisters!

You guys are GREAT ! I love these boards. Both times I have been to WDW I have been plagued with blisters and VERY sore feet. I can't wait to try the spray deodorant thing.

It's amazing how much you walk while you are there!!!!

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE TIP!!!

Yes, there really was a Dr Scholl. HIS idea about not getting blisters was simple. He would NEVER wear the same pair of shoes 2 days in a row. He said it took at least 24 hours for a shoe to dry out. He only got a blister once in his life, and he said that happened on a trip where the airline lost his luggage. He bought a new pair of shoes, and they didnt fit right. If that worked for him, then your anti-perspirant idea should work too. If using a foot powder, use one that contains corn starch and has no perfume....could be irritating to the ski

Great tips guys. As someone who gets blisters very easily, I intend to try both suggestions, but I will definatly get some moleskin to bring. I looked for it today at my local market and found it.
Thanks again, you guys are just amazing when it comes to advice!

I guess I have strange feet. I tried the anti-perspirant spray in January of 2000 and got the worst blisters I have ever had! I had one on every toe and could barely walk 5 days into the trip. I get blisters on every WDW trip except for my last one in January 2001. This is what I did:

I changed shoes at least twice a day. I had 2 pairs of Reeboks and 2 pairs of Keds with me. I usually wore Keds in the mornings and Reeboks in the afternoon/evenings. Don't ask me why, it just worked out that way.

I wore brand new athletic socks (men's).

Twice a day I rubbed my feet (and legs) with Dr. Scholls peppermint foot lotion

NO BLISTERS!!! A first for me! And no sore leg muscles either. And since it was winter at home (snow and ice on the streets) I hadn't conditioned my feet or legs for walking like I usually do before a trip.

Hakuna Matata! It's my problem-free philosophy.

moleskin is a godsend! it isn't real mole skin, it's a flanneltype material (as someone else said). We bought some at the publix on 192 and it rocked our feet. :) My fiance thought I was crazy (had never heard of it) but after a day at the parks, he has been converted to a moleskin lover too. :)

Every evening after the parks, I heavily powdered our well worn in sneakers with Arm & Hammer foot powder with baking soda. I put this powder on everyones feet before we set out for the day also. Never a blister, never wet sneakers! Worked for all six of us.

I truly think well worn in, dry sneakers is the trick.

I have found out the best thing to do to help prevent blisters is to wear 2 pairs of athletic sock. Wear the first pair wrong side out and put on the 2nd pair right side out. (yes you wear 2 pairs at one time) This has worked out great for my b-ball team, especially breaking in new shoes. If you get a blister, I would use a product called 2nd skin. It is a gel-like substance that can be cut to size. It works great!!!!!! It allows you to do anything you want without the pain or discomfort.
