Okay. I'm the first to admit that I misread things on occasion :goodvibes but I just made an ADR and saw something odd.

"A credit card is required to guarantee this meal; the full price of ordered meals will be charged if you cancel within one day of the reservation or are a "no show" for the reservation. At family-style or buffet locations, you will only receive one meal; does not include all-you-care-to-eat. You will be charged the regular buffet or all-you-care-to-eat price."

So, I'm reading this as, If you don't show, you'll be billed for just one meal and not a multitude of potential trips! DH says it means Boma, as a buffet, will now only let you have one trip through.

Someone please tell me which of us is correct. Gotta be me though, right?

I wonder if it's like at Liberty Tree or Whispering Canyon that offers both all you can eat platters and specific menu items? Perhaps it's to clarify that if you order a specific menu item it's not all you can eat and you get what is brought on the plate.

I can't see how they could enforce a one trip thru on buffets. Like at Boma I like to go through and get some hot items, then a trip through for the chilled/salad things. Having only one trip though would definitely be a dealbreaker to me for not going there.

Since when do you need a credit card to reserve Boma?

We have ADR'S at Boma for October and I was not required to give a credit card. I also agree with the other post that I like to get salad, then fruit, meat and potatoes and finish with dessert - so being charged for each entering a buffet will not work for me.

This is news to me. If this is true, How will they monitor this? This is strange. I hope this is a misprint. I love Boma.

Definitely a misprint - after all, Boma doesn't require a credit card to make a reservation anyway.

Sounds like Akershus, which does require a credit card. There, the appetizer is an all you can eat buffet, but you can only get one entree.

I booked Boma as well for October and never had to give a CC. I only did for Akershus and HDDR. Hmmm....

This also sounds like Cinderella's Royal Table, where for dinner you get only one appetizer, entree, and dessert.

It definitely doesn't apply to buffets.

You do NOT need a credit card guarantee to book Boma.

The quote in the first post is standard language referring to specially ordered meals like kosher meals that are prepared outside the restaurant and brought in. It has nothing to do with the regular buffet.

I actually booked Boma, Chefs de France and Ohana. No CC for any.

Which is why I told my DH not to worry....

Looks like I was right though!:cool1:
