Unless it's for cash tips - which aren't large enough to make any meaningful F/X difference - use your credit card anywhere you can. Even with the 2%-3% fee on top if you have to.

Any cash you give out is gone for good. Your credit card, on the other hand, has fraud protection, plus if you have an issue with a merchant - even out of country - you can dispute it later.

Not actually true.

There may be a by-product of the precess (from the use of plastic) that some people (I’m not one of them) seem to think makes a “maple syrup” smell, but we do not have maple scented money.

I totally love that and sadly have spread it a little but said only the $50 smells lol and most never get that bill lol. I so wish it did. I am in Oregon and have 2 cans and glass bottle of real Maple syrup
