strange phone call!

I was told the 2011 bonus points would NOT last until the promo expires next week - thoughts? Is this another tactic to draw you in ASAP or do you really think they will 'run out' of last year's points leaving the bonuses to just the $10 off per point and the $500 visa? :confused3

from what I've seen the "last years points" are really "current use year" points. So if your use year is April, or further out, you can get them (since it's the current use year). If your use year is March, then you're out of luck since that use year has rolled over.

I would call them back and tell them that because you can't buy for 2 weeks and since the "bonus" points aren't going to be available, you will have to buy resale.

I bet you they will get special permission to extend the bonus just for you because you are so special.

I received the same phone call today. He said they were verifying my email and that they were going to be sending out offers with up to a $500 gift card. He also asked for a good time for our guide to follow up.

When DH asked who called and I told him, he said did you tell them to waive ROFR on the contract we have pending? :rotfl:

Some States may have laws about unsolicited sales calls so they are calling to get your permission.

So they are bothering you to ask for permission to bother you... We also got the call and i have to say, while i love Disney and my DVC membership getting a call that does not pertain to a future stay or a problem does make me a little angry. I suspect that the calls are actually coming from telemarketers and not really DVC but on the behalf of DVC and that is why they have to transfer you to your guide or confirm your email address. I don't plan to call back but if anybody would be kind enough, please post back what they say. I am not interested in more points, insurance or the dining plan but if it is something unusual... :) maybe they are running an 80% off pre-construction sale for GF points. :cool1: I'm game!

:lmao: I'll drink to that and make the check out fast, quick and in a hurry:rotfl:

Did anyone else find the email to be pretty useless? Perhaps it was because of the timing when I received it. I got a phone call from someone at DVC asking to verify my email address and then asking permission to have my Guide call me and when it might be most convenient. I told them any time. When I returned home, the email "brochure" was there - but said nothing about promotions. Unfortunately, I missed my Guide's call. He left a vague voicemail and said to call him back. Is it worth it?
