Strange experience with USAirways.com

I went to the USAirways internet site to make a ressie for next February (President's Day Weekend), and could not get a good price on any flight out of Pittsburgh. The lowest price quoted was about $230.00 RT, and that included a connection in Charlotte. I then went to travelocity.com and got the flights I wanted for $195.00 RT. Why couldn't I get that price from USAirways directly?

I guess they block out certain flights for travelocity etc. I booked my US Air flight through United, and the cost was $40 cheaper at the time. I had checked travelocity after watching the prices rise on USair's website, they went directly to United's website and saved 10.00 over the travelocity price.
It pays to use different resources.

RAMWDWFAN: Do you like PGH airport? We have always driven to BWI because it is a 0 destination. I have always been kinda scared to fly out because of the mountains. Just curious for other opinions.... Thanks

Pittsburgh International is a great airport. It is easy to get around and has a great air mall in the middle of the airside terminal. Plenty of places to eat, drink, shop. The parking lot is great to.

I have to agree with safetymom. Pittsburgh is a great airport to fly from. I live about 45 minutes away and have had no problems.

I booked the FTP through Disney for $2492.83 for 2 adults 2 children everything included. I checked the USAirways website to see what the price for the flights we had gotten through Disney would be and they wanted $2400. I got my whole package for a little more than that. Weird.

When are you going? That sounds a little high for 4 people. Sounds like you got a deal.

We are going October 18th-25th. We are flying out of Providence. Nonstop flight down and one stop in Charlotte on the way home. I just checked again and the price I got was $2554. I booked my package May 17th.

Depending on flights for 4 people I am getting prices between $930 and 1800 for your dates on USAirways. I just did this from the web site.

We are leaving PVD @ 6:20 am and arriving @ MCO @ 10:38 am on October 18th.
October 25th, flight home leaves MCO @ 3:15 pm and arrives in Charlotte @ 4:47 then leaves Charlotte @ 6pm and arrives in PVD@ 8:03. It had alternate flights for as low as $942 though.
