strange email from DVC

I was trying to log into our DVC website--I kept going back to the login page

finally I get a message that DVC send me an email--

when I opened the email it said that I needed to reset my password due to suspeious activity

oh no I just thought I went through the link in the email--I better change the password again--

anyways just worried about getting this email--
 
I always to do (not to click from a link) but this time it caught me by surprise I went to the DVC webiste to change my password and I cant find anywhere to change it--
so my next question is how do I change it

Do it in the MDE app, 3 lines bottom right corner, my profile, account settings, change password.

Can't get into any Disney accounts... says my password is wrong... they sent an email with a link to change it but when I clicked on it, it didn't take me to a place I could actually change it! Tried your suggestion of going through MDE but it won't let me do it there either.

I've sent 3 emails and gotten no response. Tried calling the phone number listed and it has a recorded announcement telling you to leave your email!!!! WTH????

I can't get into anything!
 
It sounds suspiciously like you clicked on something in a phishing email. Hard to say whether your account was hacked earlier or maybe you changed your disney+ password and didn't realize it changed your MDE/DVC password.

Are you clicking on the "forgot password" link in the MDE login? You should only ever click on emails that you get after going through that flow (URL is https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/forgotpassword/)

If you click on the "help" link at the bottom of that page it will take you to the Disney help page, which has a link to call and website support there is (407) 939-4357.

I'm not sure where you see the phone number you're calling, but it sounds very suspicious. Find numbers to call on the disney website.

Thanks for the suggestions. Nope don’t think I clicked on anything. The number I called was from a help page. Recorded message asked for email. Already submitted multiple email requests. Nada.

407 number won’t even connect. All lines busy more than 3 hours. Guess I could call MS and wait over an hour there but doubt they could help. They would probably just hand me over to someone else who would be unresponsive or ask for my email.

I am officially at a complete loss.

Sounds like you clicked or tired multiple times. More than 3 attempts almost always gets you locked out of the account for a period of time.

Try clearing out your cookies and cache, closing your browser and restarting your device. If that doesn't work, clear cache & cookies again and close your browser. Then wait for a couple of hours (or better yet, until tomorrow) before you try to log in again, If that still doesn't work, you are going to have to call MS or tech support or help.

Thanks, Carol, I tried but it is actually happening across multiple devices so it didn't work... didn't think it would. What is so frustrating is that there is no way to get in touch with anyone. I've emailed several times... no response and the numbers I have to call are nonresponsive or tell me to leave my email... I can't even get through the phone line to get a wait time! Tech support is simply unavailable.

I know that if I call MS I will be on hold forever without any expectation that this is something they can fix.... expect they will pass me over to Tech support which is nonresponsive at the moment.

They did send me a link at the beginning to reset my password, clicked on the link but it never took me to a place to reset the password! The number for support on the email is... nonresponsive!

UGH! Right now after the week this has been, I feel like I'm done with Disney. Maybe this is a sign.

Not sure if you tried this yet..... try going to the DVC website, sign in, "Need help signing in?"
Alternately chat is available right now, I know that can be spotty but DVC chat should be able to help. Sorry you're having these problems.
 
Eureka! I finally heard from tech support and have a brand new shiny password LOL

Thanks you all for your helpful tips and support... knowing others have been through this and survived to log on another day really did help. :)
 
I got that email and notice multiple times when I had to use incognito mode just to get into the DVC website. So aggravating because I was forced to change my password like 5 times over a 2 week span. It hasn't happened in a few weeks.
 
Thanks for the tip on changing my password on the DME I now have a new password through a site I trust. Sounds like others are having issues
