In your experience, will any CM at a Disney restaurant ask to see a child's park pass to see if it is for an adult or child?

If I get my child an adult's pass for park entry and yet make my PS's saying he's 9 would Disney want to see the pass if they thought he was close to the age cut off?

I know that we would already be in the gate (or not even having to use the pass if we were at a resort restaurant) so our park passes would not be out but I was just wondering.

I've got a kid who eats like a bird.

As a mom, I personally would not want to lie like that in front of my child. You would have to tell him to lie too, and would you really want to go there?

If I were you, I would avoid the buffet places where the prices are set, and instead eat at CS or sit-downs with regular menus. Tell the server you son is a light eater and would prefer to order off the child's menu; in my experience, Disney is very accomodating in cases like that. You could even just share a meal with him if you prefer.

FWIW, I'm sharing your agony too. My 11 year old was a "child" during our visit last May, now he gets to be an "adult" next week when we go again. Since we're not on any meal plan, I immediately saw the ching/ching in prices going up for us too, especially at places like O'Hana and Cape May. We'll probably skip those places this time around.

When making the PS I would say 2 adults and my son who's 12 (or whatever). When placing order just ask the server if it's ok for him to order from the childrens' menu. We've done this many times without any problem.

I understand your pain, but it's a lie, and kids learn from our example, especially when they have to participate in it. My integrity is worth more than that, and I hope yours is too.

I have an 11 yr. old who was getting charged as an adult at GG no matter what he ordered even though he wanted mac and ch from the kid's menu. We talked him into something from the adult menu and decided that from now on we'll forego any restaurant that is going to charge him as an adult even if he eats a kid's meal. He is small for his age and looks like a 9 yr. old, but the answer is to eat elsewhere not lie.
