Straightening Teeth

Sorry I don't think there is a fast or easy fix. I just got braces a few months ago at age 37 and my teeth were not bad at all. I just wanted them perfectly straight and it has been complete h*ll. They hurt, they are bothersome and expensive ($5100). The only other option I think would be veneers and they cost $1000 or more per tooth.

yeah I agree I got my braces off in Feb and it was neither cheap nor quick almost 2 years. BUT I wouldnt hesitate to do it again! It has made all the difference in my appearance and my self confidence!

It's not very cheap and I don't know how fast you want it to be, but I know my DD's orthodontist does the Invisalign braces for adults for about $4,000. There's no pain and no one can even tell you're wearing them. My DD's retainer is now an invisalign retainer and they are pretty cool. He told me most of his adult patients wear them for about 1 year or just slightly over. All of his adult patients I spoke with in the waiting room all were upset they had waited so long to do it. If you want more info, go to www.invisalign.com.

I have had my braces for a year and have at least one more year to go. I looked into invisalign, too, but I had too much of a correction for them. It is really painful at first, but it gets better and I can totally see a difference and I am not even done yet! Mine are $4800 and we paid $1400 down and pay $125 a month until paid in full- no interest. This was the payment plan through the otrthodontist.

I got my Invisalign braces 10 weeks ago and they are much better than the regular braces I had 15 years ago. I paid about $1000 for mine, top teeth only, because my brother's a dentist and I got the family discount. I really wish they had Invisalign way back when. The advantage is that there are no rub spots from the brackets, I can take them out to completely brush and floss my teeth, they'll only be on 40 weeks, no one can see them, I put the new tray in every two weeks, so if I'm going to be away I can get an extra tray or two to tide me over until I can get in for an appt, and they don't hurt much at all (and I have very sensitive teeth). I would HIGHLY recommend them. Hopefully when I'm done my teeth will look like this :teeth: !

I had braces in junior high, but failed to consistently wear my retainer, so.......

...... I looked into Invisalign a few years ago, and the orthodontist told me they wouldn't work on my overbite. He said I'd need to have my jaw broken and reset, and that's the only way my teeth would ever stay perfectly straight. I got a second opinion-- same thing.

Needless to say, while I'll never have a movie star smile, I've decided mine's really not all that bad.

The invisalign intrigues me - DD13 will be getting braces very soon and they are in DS7's future as well. I see everyone mentioning that adults are getting them - are they good for kids too? I guess I should go visit the website, huh?

there is no fast AND cheap way.

there's a fast way, you can get veneers, but they're not cheap.

braces aren't cheap either.

you could always get all your teeth pulled and get dentures, but that's not cheap either.

they told me the same thing when i was younger. so as a i child, i had to wear headgear at night that pulled my jaw forward, and then i had a retainer that had a key that you turned to expand my jaw. it was painful as well, but at least i didn't have to get anything broken when i was older.

now i need braces because my wisdom teeth are coming in and there's no room, so a lot of of teeth are moving. and of course, none of the BACK ones are moving, it's all the ones in front!

luckily i work in a dentist office, so maybe if i talk to the dentist she'll help me. i'm gonna try and get the invisaline if i can, because i'll be getting married in less than 2 years, and i have a feeling that if i get the wire braces i'll need to wear them longer.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but only people who need a minor adjustment are candidates for Invisilign.

it's not like my teeth are jacked up. a few of them have shifted in the socket because of the third molars pushing. all i have to do is get them extracted, and then fix the few teeth that have shifted. i only have 3 teeth that need fixing, it's not like all of my teeth have shifted.

If the problems to be fixed are minor, they do have these "six-month" braces out. They're mainy for adjusting the front teeth. Do a websearch, and you will find the info. I've alos been seeing TV commercials about them.
