Has anyone used Straight Talk from Walmart for their cell service? Our contract is up with Sprint, and we are looking for a less expensive option... The price of Straight Talk just seems too good to be true!

I have been using ST for about a year now with no problems. I used to do the unlimited plan but now only use the $30 as I found I never was running out of time.

I used it for about 6 months last year and I loved it. The only reason I got rid of it was because I wanted a regular smartphone and they didn't offer anything like I wanted at the time. Not sure if they do now or not. I never had a problem with service, reception or reloading the phone. I have heard awful things about their customer service, but I never had to use it, so I can't comment about it.

I don't have it but have relatives who do. They agree that customer service stinks. Also, a issue that came up with my niece is that their Android phone service is limited. Their non-Android coverage is decent but if you go for an Android model be aware that service may be an issue. She took hers back after receiving it for Christmas and went with a Verizon pre-paid.

I have had it for over a year and no complaints. Love the $30 a month plan.

We have the $30 / month plan automatic reloading and love it! So much cheaper than Verizon ($45 / month ) and we never run out of minutes! We only have a basic phone and have used customer service (early on) and had a fine experience.

Love it!

I had StraightTalk for one year for my daughter.
Later she wanted a *better phone* and the service was slipping a bit.
I paid $45.00 plus tax = ($48.50) for Unlimited/30 days/StraightTalk.

Now ... At&T GoPhone has Unlimited/30 days for...
($50.00) total no tax. We got a 3G phone (refurbished Samsung)
and the service is good ... YMMV.

When we first got her a phone about 2 years ago
StraightTalk was the Best price for unlimited/no contract,
with good service in her area.

Since then (some) other phone companies
have lowered their price for no contract/unlimited.
:thumbsup2

We have had it for over a year now without any issues.

Son has the $30/month plan. Wife has the $45/month plan.

Service is on Verizon, AT&T and now Sprint depending on what phone you get. My sons was on Verizon and my wife's on AT&T. My wife got an Andriod about 3 months ago and it is on the Sprint network.

All the new Android phones are on the Sprnt network so if the OP was on sprint they they will have no issues at all.

My Dh and I recently got some to help save on $....I purchased them on the straight talk site during the after Thanksgiving sale ($40 slider and 1 year of unlimited for $30 a month when you sign up for auto refill)
Phones are fine, but I suggest buying them in your local Walmart....ours worked in most areas, but not all....we ended up buying DH one at walmart and rolling the minutes on the the new on, it works everywhere around here (he travels locally a lot for work and has to have a phone) My phone doesn't work in a few areas (where our homeschool group is for one) but I can't pass up the savings.
Customer service is not fun at all.....butI have only had to use them for porting our verizon numbers in and swtiching DH's phone.
Good luck with your decision!

As I understand it, Smart Talk is the same company as Tracfone. Tracfone customer service stinks so I would imagine that is the reason Smart Talk's CS does as well.
