My son and I discovered the Storyteller late one Saturday afternoon. We were walking through DTD and I hadn't yet been in the Grand Californian (and wanted a real, sit-down, meal). I figured that if they had a buffet, the kid (who was at that time existing on mac 'n' cheese, pizza, and cheeseburgers) would be able to find something he would eat.
Well, we walked in the front door and were hit with the aroma of BBQ ribs. We had a short wait because of a few large parties ahead of us, so I asked for the menu to look over. I wanted to point out any of my son's favorite options.
When the waiter came to take our order, the kid, then 10, said "Mom, can I have the ribs? They smell so good! This kid was, and is super-picky about food. He has a sensory disorder that makes him extremely sensitive to the textures of different foods. I said, "Sure" and ordered spaghetti so he would have a fall-back, but he LOVED the ribs! He couldn't finish them all, so we took the left-overs back to the Hilton (DH was at a conference, so concierge-level room was free for 4 days), and DH ended up eating the leftovers 'cause he hadn't had dinner. DH loves ribs and agreed that they were great.
They are only offered at dinner, but we now make it a point to eat early dinner at the Storyteller! A bonus, the kid will now order ribs just about anywhere!
