We are considering taking our 5 year old daughter to Storyland and we would probably stay overnight. Can you remcommend a nice hotel near Storyland? I have no idea what is in that area.

Thanks!

Storyland is a great trip. You will love it. Clean, well-kept, inexpensive. We have stayed at the North Conway Grand Hotel, at the Fox Ridge Resort, and at the Comfort Inn. All were nice. NCGH is right in the midst of the outlets. Fox Ridge has an outdoor pool in addition to indoor, and Comfort Inn has mini golf right outside the door. I also know people who have stayed at Mountain View resort and the Nordic Village.

Did you know that if you go to Storyland after 3 pm, you get to be readmitted the next day for free? It is a great deal. If you get up there in time, I recommend you do that so your little one gets a taste of the park the first day and you can go back the next morning.

Enjoy!

Although I've never stayed there, I've heard great things about the North Conway Grand Hotel. There are also a few "chain" hotels up there in North Conway as well, I think a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn. We've stayed at the Red Jacket Inn, which was very nice but it was a bit pricey. Check out the Chamber of Commerce for the White Mountains. They should have links on their website under lodging.

My girls loved Story Land. We went 3 years in a row when they were smaller. Also, you could check out Santa's Village while up there. It's a nice park as well.

On a side note, there is a short hike in the area that we absolutely love. It's called "Diana's Bath" and it's a short hike through woods to a beautiful waterfall. A nice way to break up an afternoon. It's right off West Side Road in Bartlett. Right off Rt. 16. It's not really a hike, more of a walk.

Enjoy your trip!

Storyland is okay but do not expect the caliber of a Disney. The Red Jacket is a great place to stay and there are lots of outlets in N. Conway.

I'll check out Red Jacket and North Conway Grand Hotel. Thanks for the suggestions!

I certainly don't expect anything close to Disney although I wish we were going back to WDW rather than Storyland! ;)
