Stormtroopers?

Taking my 5 y/o twin grandsons for their first visit in May. The top request for one of them is to see a stormtrooper (I must have mentioned this to him at some point). We've seen them march at Disneyworld and I thought I had seen something mentioned about them doing this in Disneyland, but don't see anything about it on the Disney website.

I do have a Chase Disney Visa so will have access to that meet and greet, but it looks like it's Darth Vader.

Anyone have any recent experience seeing a stormtrooper?

Stormtroopers come out randomly in TL. They don’t really do M&G, but rather “patrol” the area & check out anyone they feel is suspicious. It’s pretty entertaining to watch. There is no telling for sure if they’ll still be around after May 30th, but it sounds like you’ll make it before that.

For what it’s worth, I think it’s likely they’ll be some 1st Order troops in SWGE, but that is just my guess.

Thanks Wench! Guess we'll have to spend time hanging out in TL. I have a feeling one or both of them might not be brave enough for Space Mountain, but am hoping they will both like Star Tours. Although, my experience with 5 year olds is they are hard to convince it's just a movie and their not really going to crash:)

I saw storm troopers out yesterday afternoon near Galactic grill. You can also ask a CM in Tomorrowland what time they normally come out.

I first took my son at 4 & he loved Star Tours from the start. It was still the old version of the ride at that time, but it was still the same basic ride. If your GSs like Star Wars, I’m sure they’ll be ok.

My kids did a meet and greet with 2 stormtroopers while we were at DL in March. It wasn't scheduled like an official meet. They patrol TL. Eventually, in our case, they ended up in front of the theater where Captain EO used to be (I think it's some sort of Star Wars clip show now). Our kids waited in line, but it's really informal. The troopers called one of my kids up (he was wearing a rebellion shirt) to question him on the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker. My son told them that he was in the store and then my daughter (who was dressed like Rey) tried to force push them and they did a whole bit with her. But, this doesn't happen for everyone. Sometimes it's just a quick interaction. Have your camera ready and shoot while they're talking to the kids. They don't have photopass and it can be a pain to get the pictures, but if your kids are excited and animated enough to make for a good improv bit, you might get a lot of interaction. They do tend to pay more attention to kids in costume and kids wearing either Phasma costumes or rebellion/resistance gear. Good luck!

We also found Boba Fett hanging out in the Cantina part of the Launch Bay. He's not always there. Again, it's hit or miss since he doesn't have a designated line like Darth, Kylo, Chewy, and Rey.

As for Star Tours, it really is hit or miss. One of my 5-year-olds loves it and the other won't go near it because after watching youtube videos, she decided it's too scary even if she does love Kylo Ren. I recommend showing a video of what it's like before you go. It might make it easier on them.
