We're going to WDW this January 9th, woohoo! Just wondering what time SAB closes at night because we'll be looking for all kinds of things to do at night as the parks will close early. thanks!
Also, I know the pools are heated, but is it ridiculous to even think about swimming at night in January??

I was at Beach Club last January 12-18th, so just about the same time as you are going. We spent part of one day swimming at SAB. Unfortunately, I believe that StormAlong Bay was not open very late. If memory serves me right, I think it closed around 6:00, maybe 7:00 at the absolute latest. But certainly not late, but the quiet pool was open.

And yes, you can swim in January at SAB! Just hope you get a nice, sunny, non-breezy day! I think the air temperature was in the mid seventies when we went swimming, and it was fine. But we are from the north, so any kind of swimming seemed good to us! :)

We stayed at the BC in Jan. this past year, and yes, SAB closed around 6. But, the quiet pools are open and nice and warm. I think they close around 10 or 11, but we were in the BC one at midnight and CMs walked by and just smiled at us.:D

I recall the same as well, SAB closes basically at sundown (which is pretty early in winter months) but the quiet pools remain open. Frankly it's darn cold at night taht time of the year, it's seldom over about 60, and can get down into the 40's.

ok, thanks everyone. Can I pick your brain a little further about January? I know the parks close early. What was it like? Did you do early openings and stay all day at the parks? Was that exhausting if you didn't take that mid day break? But if the parks are closing at 6, I can't see going back to the hotel at 1:00 like we usually do in April.

Did you find yourself dressing in jeans in the morning and changing in the afternoon to shorts? How did you like it in general in January? I actually like that all the major rides are being renov. in Sept. instead of Jan. (sorry Sept. people!), but I came to expect everything to be shut down in Jan. Thanks you guys! :D
