we will be coming from wdw to dream then back to wdw. we will be bringing our special needs stroller, slightly larger than a regular full size stroller. we probably wont be using it on the ship. do you think they have a storage area we could leave it? we are in an 8A as of now, will it be horribly squished having it in our room? really, there is nothing we can do since we really need it on the trip, so just wondering how to make the best of it.

There is no passenger storage area onboard, except for your room.

Unless you're sailing Concierge, you'd best plan on having it in your room.

I've read that people store their strollers in the bathtub (when not in use) so it doesn't take up space in the room.

We were in an 8A last summer on the Fantasy and there is a ridiculous amount of space in there! I assume the stroller still folds in some manner, but I don't think you'll have any trouble storing it in your cabin!

How much luggage are you taking? If you stack the pieces inside each other you might have room for the stroller under the bed (assuming it will collapse flat.) There's really quite a bit of space under there. Or you could store the stroller in the bath tub when you're not bathing.

Where will you be staying at WDW? Perhaps they would keep the stroller in their luggage storage room while you're on the cruise.

yes, it folds, it is like a regular stroller just slightly larger. this is our first cruise, so we weren't sure, but 8A's appeared to have aliitle more room then I expected. the bathtub is a good idea. thanks

we are staying at an off property timeshare for a week first. after cruise a night or two at aoa.

We are on Dream in June. We will also have a large stroller for our child with special needs. New are in 8c I think..they told us we would be able to store in the room with no problem. I think you will be good!

We were in a 4A, which I believe is the same size as an 8A, except we had a balcony. We also took our large Graco stroller.

How many people will you have in the room? I think that's the biggest factor. In our case we had DD in another bed and had to set up a pack n play for DS, so things were a little tight. I folded up the stroller and it just fit between the bed and wall, but sticking out so I had to crawl all the way to the foot of the bed to get out. It worked. If we didn't have the PnP also, there would have been no issue at all with the size room we had.

Have a great cruise!

can you store it a WDW and not worry about it on the Cruise. Most of the WDW hotels will hold items for you.

we will have two adults and 7yo. sounds like we should be ok since we don't have any other equipment, just suitcases. and hey, if I have to climb over a stroller to go on the cruise, that isn't a bad thing!! alittle nervous about leaving it behind at wdw even though we will be heading there afterwards. we will be staying at a non Disney timeshare, checking out, returning our rental car, then getting Disney transfer from mco, don't really want to put another stop on the list. plus, we don't plan on needing it on the ship, but you never know. thanks a bunch for all your responses.

Since you have a rental car, why don't you drive it to Port Canaveral and check it in there. That way you won't have to drive to the airport, pay for transfers, and you can board the ship earlier.

we decided to take Disney transfers because it is our first time. we are familiar with Orlando area, but haven't gone east at all. so I am nervous since I am the driver and didn't want to screw anything up. I get alittle anxious going somewhere the first time. I would have had to drop off dd and dgd and go return car, get back to terminal by myself. too scared. sounds silly, but that is just me. I will do something alittle backwards if it means I feel more comfortable. I do expect to be hooked on cruising after our trip. so next time, after I see what things look like and how they work, I am sure I will make the drive.(I know there was a reason I wanted my husband to come...so he could return the car!!!) between being anxious and excited, you can imagine how my heart is racing just thinking about the cruise.

guess in my op, I was hoping ship would have a storage closet or something. but I really do understand why they don't.

Aren't the 8As the rooms with two portholes? I saw one on a stateroom tour with our DIS group and there is definitely more room than a standard room...even a 4A IMO. You won't have a problem with room.

Maybe during the first part of your trip you could swing by the resort where you will be staying the second part of your trip, and see if they will store it? Resorts will accept packages mailed before peoples' trips, so it would be hard for me to see them saying no.

We stayed 2 nights at POR before the cruise and left a couple bags with Bell Services until after. Got our rental car, swung by POR, picked them up easy-peasy, went on our way to the resort where we were staying.

So if you won't need it while getting to or from the cruise, nor during the cruise, it's almost certainly a viable option.

You'll be fine with the stroller and have plenty of room. My daughter uses a special needs stroller (she 25) and I'm sure her's is larger than what you are currently using. We have a Stealth "lighting" Stroller and we have no issues in the cabin :-) The bathtub is a great idea!

Enjoy!

A couple of weeks ago we stayed in 8A on the Fantasy. It was 6512 & 6514. They had a crazy amount of space in them. We had our toddler's pack n play set up the whole time and never had to walk over or around it. And honestly, we could have put about 4 more pack n plays in the room had we needed too! Here are two pics of our room.

I agree. I wouldn't want to leave ours anywhere either. They are expensive! I am sure hey would take great care of it...but I would be nervous too

thanks again for more responses. I have seen a few pics, but these really show how much room, didn't expect that much. thanks. we will definitely be more than fine. the bed does look pretty high, it may even fit under there.

I guess another question is, do we push it on or check it with our luggage? at he airport, we keep it with us until boarding.

Well I was mistaken... I thought the 8A and 4A were the same size other than the balcony... but this is way bigger than the 4A we had. Ours was on the Magic too, so maybe there's a difference between the ships.

In most cases the rooms cat 10-5 are the same exact room size on the classics.

There are a couple 8As on the new ships that have a partition between the two portholes. There is still a lot of room though.

Lots of pictures in this thread.

If she needs the stroller, just roll it on. You won't have any issues with that! I certainly wouldn't let them take it with luggage. They really toss around those suitcases!!
