Storing Key Lime juice?

I purchased key lime juice (in a plastic bottle) several months ago and put it in my cupboard. Fast forward to today when I decide to finally make a pie. NOW I notice that the bottle says "best kept refrigerated after purchase". Oh; I missed that when I bought it. I removed the inner safety label and it still smells good. Is it safe to use or should I just buy a new bottle?

Thanks!

If it wasn't refrigerated when you bought it, it should be fine right out of the cupboard if you didn't open it.

Is there an expiration date on it? The wording "best kept refrigerated after purchase" seems odd to me if it wasn't refrigerated at the grocery store. Refrigerate after opening, I can understand, but not after purchase.

If it wasn't refrigerated at the store and you haven't opened it, it's more than likely fine. They can't predict when that product will sell so they can't say "well we only expected it to be out of refrigeration for X days...not that many more at your home". I think it's just a funny label.
