Stop pushing the elevator button!! Done!! Complete!! Finished!!

Saturday, Feb. 27-Epcot
I woke up pretty early,
and went and got my ticket changed to non-expiring.
Plus I picked up my Larry Dotson picture at the Beach Club Market Place.
Grabbed a banana and 2 donuts and water.

They had some really cool Beach Club Sweatshirts,
but non in my size. The CM told me,
they were just getting them in and more sizes should be
available in a few days.

I know we got to the International GateWay by 9:00 a.m.
we walked right in.
Since we weren't doing the mad dash for Soarin we took our time.

Epcot's Flower Festival was starting next Tuesday,
and they topiatries out.

2 years ago, it was all about Peter Pan characters,
so the topiatries were scattered around Great Britian.

I love these tea pot holders. It is explained what kind of tea
grows in each.
I have one at home, but I plant flowers in mine.

We did thenTest Track. I knew with the rain coming,
they would shut down the ride.

Then walked into Living in the Sea's with Nemo.
It said the ride would be going down from 11:00 -4:00 p.m. today,
so I wanted to ride it and not miss it.
And Talkin with Crush was cancelled until 4:00 p.m. bummer.

After Nemo-a scuba diver was in the chamber giving a presentation.
She's holding a plastic bag, and telling the kids to be careful how they
discard the bags.

We spent an hour in the Aquarium,
then went over to Soarin,
it was Pourin.
Outside.

Soarin had a 15 minute wait-at 10:30 a.m. unreal.
It was a total walk-on.
Guess everyone was afraid of the rain today.
I love this Ride-it's my favorite.
Grabbed Fast Passes with a return time of 11:30-12:30.
We did The Land.
Spotted Pumpkins behind the Sunflowers,
last November all the Pumkins were picked and gone.

Good to know lettuce can grow with PCB pipe.

We did the Lion King Show with Pumba. I thought I never saw the movie, but when I sat in the theatre, I remember being in their a long time ago. It must have been when I chaperoned my ds's Band Trip in 2003.

It was 11:30 and my dh didn't want to ride Soarin, so we gave away our tickets on the way out. You know how hard it is to find 2 people. But I did it.

When we got outside-it was done raining. I had a poncho,
my dh took my umbrella.
We had an ADR for Teppo Endo at 12:15 p.m.

My dh wanted to find a smoking area, so we walked to the front of the park.
WDW is really cutting down on smoking areas.
We finally found a crowd. Everyone was huddling underneath
Spaceship Earth, trying to stay out of the rain.
We walked to the front of the park
and look who was standing all by herself.

Daisy gave me a big hug and kiss. The photoPass
person missed it completely, and asked us to do it again,
but the moment passed.

I am still here. That was a long update! Gotta love resort hopping...one of my favorite things to do.

You must be talking about Zhu Zhu pets. One of the girls I babysat for got one for Christmas. I guess they are quite popular...they're kind of like "real" pets in that you can wind them up and they'll crawl on the floor or whatever. Gotta keep up on the trends when you're a teacher. haha!

I'm all caught up! You sure update really fast

They sang in barbershop quartet???? that must've been AMAZING to experience! I love barbershop quartet music. All those harmonies that work so well together. Where is the umbrella again? I want to find it too.

Very cool that you convinced Cindy of WDW. My DBF isn't so into Disney now, but I'm sure he will after our August trip.

I know what you mean about worrying about your daughters. I'm a senior in university and I go to school 2 hrs away from home. I have to call home every night to let them know I'm still alive! I guess parents will always worry about their kids.

The poster WDWgirl03 is going in 7 days and she wants to find the Umbrella too. It's of course in Disney Studios, and it is at the end of a street, but I don't want to give it away. It's really fun to find it. I've been to Disney Studios 4 times and this was my first time I found it.

Can I go back and edit and put in the correct spelling. I remember Cindy being so excited to find the pets. I really thought they were beany babies. When she said the name of the animals, I didn't want to ask her, "what are they called?

I made up my mind to finish my TR, and of course I keep remembering little things. I just wanted to post pictures and get done.

Hi, another mostly lurker here but I am really enjoying your trip report. So often people have the wrong ideas about Disney and you know if you could just take them and show them what it is really like they would understand.

I LOVE this lamp!

I'm a lurker too :goodvibes

Welcome Lurkers. I'm probably the biggest Lurker on the thread. I am suppose to post and welcome and encourage, but sometimes. I have to keep moving on, otherwise I'd be on my board all day.

I figured I have about 30 lurkers, so even if the rest don't post, I know your there, and I'll finish this. Saturday afternoon, we knew we were seeing professional baseball players with their families, we just had no idea who any of them were. I think with the attendance so low, we just noticed the VIP tour guides and all the special camera's following them around. I don't know if it was for ESPN weekend or what.

At the Japanese resturant, I have to look the name of the resturant up, their was a professional film crew from Japan, and we were not allowed to take pictures in the resturant during the opening ceremony with the ball players watching, but I did.

I'm here!! I thought I was already here but guess I wasn't so I'm here now (confused yet ;))

Love the pics of Beach Club - the rooms are beautiful!

Always love when I see you've posted another TR ....now where were you?...:surfweb:

With 11,000 posts can you really define yourself as a "lurker"? :lmao:

Just wanted to let you know I'm enjoying the report! Love that you converted Cindy!!

Thanks for reading.
It is funny that I have a lot of posts. Most of them are kind posts to people that post trip reports, and let them know at least I am there reading. But the really big long TR's, that have actually "links" on the first page, those are the one's I don't really post on. Most are are their 4th or 5th trip report and have huge followers.:rotfl:
I also have a small addiction to the Jon and Kate Plus 8 thread on the CB. I used to post a lot, when their show was on TLC.

That's exactly how I feel Sue! A lot of my friends just can't understand why I would want to go to WDW! They think it's only for little kids and it just doesn't make any sense for a 20 something to go without a family or without little kids.

I wish I could convince them that WDW is for every age group and has something for everyone. But being all the way in Canada, it's not easy to try to convince people of a trip that would cost so much to begin with.

Hi - we are from England so it is expensive from here too but worth it (we think) having said which this summer we are having a change and coming to your neck of the woods as we have two weeks in Toronto - back to Disney in April 2011 though.

Wow, that sounds great Sue! Let me know if you need any help with planning or tips. When are you coming?

Oh yes, I remember you from the Canadian boards!

I always say, a TR is not official until it is hi-jacked.:lmao: But I don't mind. That is how you find DIS friends. And Sue, I'll be at WDW April 2011 too. Do you know your dates yet?

OK, time for more hijacking...now that I have an AP and if my sister does end up doing the college program I might be there in April '11 too.

Oh yeah, I was also thinking about those toys again that you guys were looking at for the one lady's daughters. Were they webkinz? Those do look like beanie babies. Only high tech...they come with some code that you can enter to play online.

I've never heard of Zhu-zhus, but I've definitely heard of webkinz. I don't see the point of buying real stuffed animals just to be able to play online, when you have a site like neopets where you don't need to buy anything to own a virtual pet.

This would be so cool, to be at WDW the same time.

I am so confused now with the little stuffed animals. So Sarah, when you are at WDW, go to a gift shop and check out the official name. It is either webkinz, or Zhu, Zhus'.

If you can get the attention of pre-teen kids and their parents to have the latest and great thing to have, you will become an instant millionaire. I just never understand, why something becomes so popular, but then it is impossible to find. You would think the manufacturer would get their product made by the gazillions. It was like the cabbage patch dolls, when my oldest dd was little.

Great report so far! You really didn't get that great of weather but still better than at home right? Zhu zhu pets are hamsters, webkinz are all types of animals

Not absolutely definite yet but we are looking at 26th March - 16th April, given the long journey time (around 18 hours door to door) and cost of flights it is better if we can go for three weeks rather than two ;) Direct flights will be released in May and then we will be able to firm up our plans. We are planning a split stay with time on site (looking at the Poly or WL/AKL), time at Universal for fotl and also time in an off site villa for chilling - we are a family of five so like our space.

Wow, that sounds great Sue! Let me know if you need any help with planning or tips. When are you coming?

We fly out 30th June for two weeks (just four of us as DS isn't coming to Toronto by his choice). You're right I have posted some questions on the Canadian board and got some helpful answers. So far we have some must do's and some might do's as well as a list of possible places to eat. Although we will have a kitchenette ( we are staying in a 2 bedroom Staybridge Suites) I do NOT cook on holiday, we will use the fridge/freezer for drinks/snacks/ice cream but that is all.

Sorry about the hijack but I love reading other peoples trip reports which often bring back memories and give me ideas for future trips - and it is a great way of making DIS friends

I know for sure that for the Tickle Me Elmo a couple of years back, the company specifically made it a MUST-HAVE item and not put anything out, so that they would for sure sell out when they were finally put on the shelves.

It makes sense that a company would rather have their product sell-out than have leftovers. Also, if a retailer only has a few, they can up the price a little if it's an extremely popular but hard to find item. I'm a collector of figurines, and that's exactly what they do for products that are hard to get in Canada or even online.

Haha, I think to prevent further hijacking, we can continue this in our PMs =)
