I don't know what it is but the baby is VERY active. I guess it's because I had today off and didn't move around very much or something.

Normally, he is not this active during the daytime but for most of today, he's been bouncing around like crazy, jumping up and down on my bladder and poking me in the ribs.

I also haven't been sleeping well the last week or so because he decides that after I fall asleep is the perfect time to pretend he's Micheal Flatley and starts dancing around, waking me up.

He's been active from day one too, I suspect. On the first sonogram, the tech had a hard time taking his 'picture' because he wouldn't sit still long enough for her to do what she needed to do. He actually 'jumped' (if you call it that) up and turned to face us, his little pre-hand bump wiggling furiously.

On the second sonogram, it was just as bad. Every time she tried to take a look at something she had to look at (like his spine to see if it was complete or not), he moved and she had to move the little microphone thing again.:earseek: He yawned, sucked his thumb and managed to moon us (which was a good thing, enabling us to tell whether he was a boy or a girl).

I love James to death but sometimes his acrobatics are uncomfortable, poking me in the ribs or whatever. It was cute when all he did was wiggle around but now I feel like a punching bag.

I have a little over 8 weeks to go and I can't wait to get him out. I'm just hoping that he's not quite this active out of the womb.

Oh my, I can sooo sympathize with you. It's been almost three years (Feb 18) since my fourth son was born, but I vividly remember those sleepless nights, sitting in the recliner and watching every new program known to mankind at 5:00 am.

I remember sitting in church, just fine, and the baby would decide it was time for a dance and I would have to hop up and run to the bathroom.

I won't say things like "It's almost over" (even though it almost is:D ) or "Just enjoy each day" (because at this stage, a day lasts for a week), but I will say I feel for you and wish you all the best with your baby boy. I'm sure he will be a nice, calm little boy.;)

Oh I hear ya' sister! I wore a path from my office to the bathroom with DD! What was worse was that she was breech with one foot on each side of her very large head. I would get her head and both feet in my diaphragm all at once, made breathing very interesting! She was a c-section and when I saw that big head, I didn't mind the operation one bit!! :p

With my babes, the more hyper they were before they were born, the more hyper they were as infants and toddlers.

It was really cute to see them have hiccups as newborns after feeling them have hiccups so often before they were born.

Well, I'll say it....

I so miss those days of having the baby in my tummy. Especially when I'm chasing DD and DS because they're running around naked and won't put on their jammies! You won't believe it, but after James is born, you may just find yourself feeling your belly and missing it too. :D

I just want to say, it will all be over soon. Try to think of other things, other than you wanting the pregnacy to end. I was feeling you pain two months ago. DS is two months today, he moved no stop while in the womb and continues to move no stop out side of the womb. The only time he's still is while he's sleeping. We are not looking forward to the day he startes to walk because we know our house will never be the same and we will lose alot of weight chasing him around.

Just be happy that you can xperience that feeling. Some of us are not that lucky.:(

I hope he slows down just a bit so you can get some sleep.

I assume you are drinking anything with caffeine in it.

I wonder if all very active babies in the womb are just as active once they are born?

Haven't touched the caffeine (well alright, so I cheated a little bit one day back in Nov with a Diet Coke!) since I found out I was pregnant. God I miss caffeine. :(

Thanks guys. Yesterday was just tough with me trying to catch up on my sleep and him not wanting to settle down one stinking bit. He didn't settle down last night either and I guess he wore himself out because he's barely moved all day.

I was remarking to my husband just yesterday about how active our 21 month old is as compared to his siblings. He reminded my about how active he was during my pregnancy. I had forgotten but he was right. Enjoy the next year because when this one starts crawling you are going to get a workout.

:p Lori
