Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Sorry to interupt here. My name is Jane and I am new to this thread. I have spent the past two days reading your Disney trip report. I loved every minute of hearing about your trip and getting to know your family. My only question is ... did I miss something? The last post was on page 159 and then went on to another trip. Is there going to be more to your Disney trip?

You have inspired me to attempt a trip report with my upcoming trip to the World in May. I will be celebrating my 50th birthday so I am hoping to get some "button attention" myself ... hope I get more than Lacey did. Do you have any advice on the best way to do the trip report? Did you journal every day or just jot it all down when you got home? My memory is so bad sometimes, I am thinking I should pobably journal each day.

Thanks for taking me along on your trip!

Hey there! I'm so glad that you're along for the ride. We did take a trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas and a trip to Branson, Missouri and I posted mini-trip reports on those two trips. I have more Disney trip installments after that. I need to go back to post #1 and update the page numbers for my Disney installments.

You can tell we are a silly fun lovin' family. With Lacey away at Missionary College, we act even sillier when we are together.

You definitely need to get a birthday button when you're there. The birthday button certainly got more attention than Lacey's Celebration button. Poor thing.....she didn't get much acknowledgement.

I started out writing a few notes every evening but that fizzled out about two days into the trip. As you can see, I'm a picture taking fool so that helps me when I'm trying to remember what we did and in what sequence we did things.

I didn't look at your signature before I hit reply so I don't remember if you had a ticker and where you were staying.

First, I miss Mel. But that day we so enjoyed the pool.

Second, I'll just have to make replys as I read. I have lots of catch up to do. You total heathens you, breaking all the rules. Totally shocked. Now to read more.

Just a note back to Silver Dollar City. I have done "fire in the hole' many times even with my eyes open cause it's dark in there. Thunderation to me is more like Big Thunder Moutain RR. I have ridden it over 100 times but never with my eyes open. It is just rough like BTMR. They have those 2 new roller coasters and the one even goes upside down but it doesn't look as exciting to me as Disney.

Ok, back to more reading.

I am so contacting him. Of course I have to write to every attorney in Monroe. Ok, I won't be a tattle tale.

That is why they get along so well. Sorry I missed Lacey being home the first of the month. I know how excited and happy you were.

I am all caught up now so hopefully I can stay that way.

Have a good day\
Ginny

Ginny, it's so good to have you back! Even if you can't post but every once in a while, I'll take any little bit of you that I can get.

OK all caught up again...so sorry I have not been around again...busy planning a Disney trip that will be here before I know it...along with taxes , helping Dayne with his decision about school in Nashville...enough about me you know where I have been OH and yeah I do need to mention with all the:yay: Saints excitment!!! and my crazy trip to New Orleans

We had snow for about five hours this morning; stopped around 10:30...I bet you guys were hit pretty good with the white stuff! Hope Hunter had a great time!!

I love the pictures of Lacey and Jessie!!! great pictures they look so happy!
I did not know about the Segway... I think Danny and Dayne would love that (I wonder how old you have to be), the almonds look good too (I have pecans in my freezer I need a receipe for them I would like to do in Praline coating),
and too funny about feeling like a newbie on your first visit! I always have to have some sort of plan...even if I need to readjust it :upsidedow

:wave2: Connie

We got a lot of snow. I say a lot but let me rephrase that. We got a lot of snow for North Louisiana. We measured and in the open areas, we had about 3 1/2 to 4 inches. Loved every minute of it! I have lots and lots of pictures posted in my pre-trip report.

I could never get on a Segway. I'd bust my behind in about 2.2 seconds. :rotfl:

I bet you are getting excited about going to Disney. You only have a few months and you'll be there!

Hey everybody! Hang in there with me. I'm trying to get a trip installment written up. In the meantime, for those of you who haven't seen them already, click on my "Over the River" pre-trip report and look at our snow pictures. I'll be back as soon as I can.

We (DH and I) are going the second week of May as we do nearly every year. And since I am a retired soldier, we stay at the Shades of Green right across the street from the Poly. I love taking photos too. Problem with mine is that the hubby always seems to want his mug in each and every one of them. I usually have to "sneak" a photo if I want one without him. Probably by the end of my trip report, everyone is going to be screaming ... "Enough of LEON already!"

And one of the things I liked about you and your family the most is that you are silly and are not afraid to be silly. I love silly! I am quite silly myself, much to the DH's chagrin. He is kinda quiet and shy. But that's OK, I am silly enough for both of us.

Found the newer posts and have caught up. I am happy that your anniversary dinner went better than mine! We celebrated our 20th a couple years ago at the Garden Grill at Epcot. Not fancy by any means, but neither are we. Well, I picked that place because it's on a turn table and you get to see down into the land ride ... I cant remember its name right now. My luck, it was not working on our dinner day. Disappointment one. They sat us around back at a two-seater table facing a tropical jungle setting. Not so bad. But, DH, the people person he is, decided he didn't want to "sit next to other people." So he asked if we could be moved. Of course! They moved us to a booth ... at the very front of the derned place facing out into the main rotunda of the building! Disappointment two. Maybe it's just me, but if he didn't want to sit by other people, why did it not bother him that we were now in a "frickin frackin" fish bowl with thousands of loud, sweaty tourists gauking by and planting their behinds right in front of us. Then the food came. Disappointment three. It was horrible. By the time we left, I was in the worst mood I have ever been in while at Disney. I hope my birthday at the luau will be better. And DH had better think twice before asking to move seats again!

Sorry. That was probably a LOT more than you wanted to know.

I had my next installment semi-written up and then "poof", it was gone. My stupidy dupidy computer shut down. Did it do the automatic backup like it was supposed to? Heck no!

Now, I've only got a few minutes left before the boss gets back from lunch. So, if I stop and the post is really really short....sorry....means the boss is back.

Let's see.....oh yeah, we had been in the Innoventions building, tried to save money at The Piggy Bank Adventure, John had dug around in my bag and snacked on a Mickey rice krispy treat and then rode on the Segway and we had made a few Velcro frogs. Did I say all that in the last post already? I don't remember. Not that I'm getting old or anything ;) but I usually go back and see what I wrote last and this time I'm simply too lazy to do that.

Anyway, when we came out of the Innoventions building, we could see clouds in the sky and it looked like we would encounter our first rains of the vacation. We couldn't really complain because we had been in Walt Disney World for over a week now and it hadn't rained on us yet.

We kind of stood around looking like first timers again, wondering what to do next. We had a dinner ADR at the Garden Grill but we had several hours until then. So, we took off down the walkway towards World Showcase. Of course, we had to stop and look around in the two shops before we started our wallk. I didn't buy a single thing in either shop. John did though and I knew he was trying to be sneaky and buy the purse that I had been looking at. I pretended not to notice as he hid something behind his back and took it to the register. Sweet man!

We had already walked through World Showcase on our first day at Epcot but who can resist walking through again. We knew we didn't have a long time to linger because of our Garden Grill ADR. Once we made it to Japan, Lacey started looking for a bowl for Jesse. That might sound like a strange gift for a guy but Jesse likes noodles. I bet she picked up every bowl in the store until she finally decided on a really cool green one. She also bought some candy sushi and some chopsticks. She paid for her purchases, filled out the resort pickup slip and we were off again.

In all honesty, I don't remember what else we did until we got to Mexico. I know I didn't take any pictures. If I did, I don't have them on my office computer or on Photobucket.

By the time we made it to Mexico, the skies had turned pretty dark and we had to run into the pavilion before we got wet. As did many many many many, did I say many , other park guests. Most people simply stopped right inside the doors or went a little further and into the marketplace.

We decided that, since we were already there, we might as well go searching for Donald Duck.

Just as soon as we got in line, so did everybody else. I took a few pictures:

I had to snap fast because the castmember was directing us to a boat that was half empty. I looked at the line as we were setting sail and the line wound all the way around the waiting area.

***Peewaddle diddly all day! The boss is back. I forewarned you this installment might be short.

Ok so now I'm all caught up on both of your threads. My stupid computer crashed on the 3rd and I just got it back today I feel very out touch!
Can't wait to see what happens next!

I have just the exact opposite of you. My husband doesn't ever want to be in pictures. When I do get him to take a picture, I have to force him to smile. He's having a good time but he hates having his picture taken. My kids, on the other hand, have no problem, whatsoever, posing for pictures.

We are definitely a fun loving family. My husband's parents aren't the hugging, laughing kind of family. They are a bit more on the serious side so I think that's why John works even harder to have fun with us.

I say there is absolutely nothing wrong with being silly!

Ok, I who fall forward would get another black eye and I give me 1.8 seconds

Yes, Ginny, you probably would have a black eye if you rode the Segway. I almost forgot you had a black eye in your trip report.

Sorry. That was probably a LOT more than you wanted to know.

I know what you mean about the Garden Grill feeling like a fish bowl at times. I don't like how the whole front of the restaurant is open and there are people standing around everywhere just looking at you eating. Other guests (not restaurant guests) are trying to get a glimpse of the characters too and taking pictures. That's a bit uncomfortable. I have to say, though, that we loved the character interaction at the Garden Grill. As a matter of fact, I'll be posting pictures of our dinner at the Garden Grill a little later on.

I sure hope that you like the luau. We had a fabulous time and are actually going again in May.

Thanks for the tip on the innovations bldg!

We like to visit the Innovations buildings but only if we have extra time.

checking in cant wait to read your whole thread.

Hey everybody.....we've got a new reader! Welcome aboard! Can you tell that we're a bit chatty over here? :lmao: You'll see that I have the Disney trip report installments in bright blue so they are easy to find amongst all of my other stuff. Hope you'll post your thoughts as you read along.

Ok so now I'm all caught up on both of your threads. My stupid computer crashed on the 3rd and I just got it back today I feel very out touch!

I wondered where you were. I figured you had been busy.

What is the matter with your boss, I hope he doesn't interrupt the important things today!
Hope you had a great holiday weekend! did you guys have off for Mardi Gras, Danny went back to work today after being off since Thursday...I have loads to do today and not moving to get it started...

Have a wonderful day! its a beauty here :sunny:

The Lacey and Jesse photos are wonderful! They're very cute together. :) Still enjoying this trip report and am making sure I also bookmark your new pre-trip report and countdown threads!

I have a new ticker! I'm soooo excited - the last time we were at Disneyland was on our honeymoon 12 years ago (before DCA existed and it was the Disneyland Resort). It'll be the kids' first Disney park experience and our first one staying in an on-property DLR room (Concierge to boot!)! I've already bought a Baggallini and a new camcorder (reminds self to get to Home Depot for lime green Mickey paint chips) and just can't wait! :dance3:  :woohoo: :yay: Sorry to hijack - I just HAD to tell someone! :goodvibes

I know! He was supposed to be in court out of town all day long. Turns out, he was back in the office by 11:00 a.m. I was just catching up on my subscribed threads and was getting ready to post on my pre-trip report when he came walking in.

We didn't have yesterday off for Mardi Gras but the State offices were closed.

The weather is pretty here today too. Can't tell that just a few days ago, we had snow covering everything.

I am a little prejudice but I thought the pictures of Lacey and Jesse were cute too. I couldn't have asked for a better guy for Lacey to fall in love with.

Don't you dare appologize for hijacking. There is no such thing on my threads. Anybody is welcome to say anything and everything (within the Disboard guidelines of course). I don't blame you one little bit for being excited. I've always wanted to go to Disneyland and even had semi-planned a trip a couple of years ago.

Get yourself to Home Depot right away!

If you do plan to DO the cruise to Alaska out of Vancouver you really need to take a few days and pop over to Vancouver island (DH and I grew up there)
Victoria is very pretty in the spring so is upper island you can go whale watching out of tofino and body surfing we used to live mid island in Ladysmith

I want to take my mother on the cruise soooo very badly. Hopefully, we can do it and work in Vancouver island along with it.

I'm going to tell ya'll right up front that this is going to be a short installment (again) but I hope to at least finish up our ride on the Gran Fiesta. The boss was supposed to be in court all day long again today and, guess what....he's back already and it's just 10:27 a.m. I just can't get my required Dis time in with all this flitting back and forth from court.

Let's pick up where I left off....it was raining, we dashed into the Mexico pavilion along with tons of other guests, hopped in line for the Gran Fiesta and were sailing along. I have to say that I'm kind of on the fence as to whether or not I like the addition of Donald to the attraction. I think I do but am not sure. Before, you were just riding through watching little bits of film that showcased the country. Now, they have added the search for Donald in the storyline. I understand why they did it....to keep guests (mostly kids) interested and to give it more of a Disney factor.

On to pics:

John was really really proud of himself when he spotted this hidden Mickey before the rest of us. He's funny 'cause he'll talk about how Hunter and I are always searching for hidden Mickeys but I now have confirmation that he does it to. Otherwise, he wouldn't have spotted this one:

A couple more that I took before the cruise through Mexico was over with:

When we got off the boat, we could see that the pavilion was full of park guests and most of them were wet. Not a good thing. We still had a little bit of time left before our ADR so we looked around a little.

SANY0183.jpg

You have no idea what kind of convincing I had to do to talk John into letting me take this picture. Let's just say, it was a lot!

SANY0185.jpg

I don't remember if I have told ya'll about this little dance that Hunter did ALL the time while we were on vacation (and he still does it at least once a day to get a laugh). I think it came from the movie Hot Rod. If it wasn't that movie then it was something equally as stupid because I didn't watch it with the rest of them. Anyway, he puts one of his hands behind his head, one on his hips and then does this hip swivel thing. It's hilarious.

Here's Hunter doing "the dance" while Lacey tries on this poncho/coat thingie.

Continued in next post.....hopefully sooner rather than later.;)

Too funny!

I'm not good with Hidden Mickey's where is the one John saw? I can;t find it. LOL!
Hope your day is going well. I feel so tired today..I slept well, just one of those days I guess, so I pushed myself and walk 1 1/2 miles on the treadmill, uploaded music to Claire's MP3 and cleaned a little bit. I really think I may take a nap now though. LOL!

I think it's the bongo drums in the far right corner of the Viva Donald boat.
