Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

I'm happy that we finally decided on something to do. I know you are getting anxious for a decision on whether or not you get to go to Disney for Thanksgiving. Still have my fingers crossed for you.

Awww, thanks, Lisa! I'm feeling like I've got ants in my pants - can't settle down because I don't know. Nothing is worse than not knowing.

Thanks for crossing your fingers for me, I need those toes crossed, too!

Vera Bradley Villager is on sale today only for $29 for select colors usually $72

Hope this helps I wasn't sure if you alredy picked one up for Lacey:wizard:

Ooooh, I need to go see. That's a really good deal. I was able to get a Hipster bag for $33.00. We also bought a lot of the little zip clip id things for just $5.00 each. She's giving those to her friends for Christmas presents. Going over to see what the Villager looks like.;)

There's nothing worse than not knowing especially when you're a planner like most of us here are. Just keep pretending that you don't give a flip whether you go or not and maybe it'll turn out in your favor.

Good morning, Lisa...thanks for the wishes that things turn around for us. I hope so too. My best friend's mom passed yesterday and hopefully that is the end of the bad news for awhile.

Kathy, I can't believe all of the bad things that have happened to you and your friends and family lately. It just HAS to get better.

When I last left off, we had just eaten at Toy Story Pizza Planet and Lacey had taken Tylenol for her aching tummy. I going to apologize right now that this installment is going to be picture free which really ticks me off because I took lots of pictures. Blankety blank camera!:headache:

Because I had been unable to get Fastpasses for Toy Story Mania early in the day, I decided I would walk over and get Fastpasses while the rest of the bunch waited on me.

Hunter spied Lightning McQueen and Mater in their garage so that's where they waited while I made my Fastpass run. I zigzagged my way through the crowds and finally made it to the Fastpass machine. I was glad to see that there were just a few people in line and I was able to grab our Fastpasses fairly quickly. I zigzagged my way back through the crowds on my way back to the family. Hunter had had his picture taken with the Cars characters by a Photopass photographer.

Lacey was still feeling pretty yucky so we decided to do something where she could sit down. It was decided that we'd do the Backlot Tour. On the walk over, we took our pictures with the city street painting thing as our backdrop. As we were walking, I saw the Monsters, Inc. character greeting area and, of course, we HAD to get in line because we absolutely love Monsters, Inc. I was surprised to see that there were only about 3 or 4 families in front of us. :thumbsup2 I have Photopass pictures but haven't uploaded them to Photobucket yet.

After getting our pictures taken, we stopped in the store and looked around a little. Hunter got a lightsaber keychain that lights up. Lacey found a set of plastic Princess glasses and decided to buy them for the new mission girl students. We used two snack credits and bought cotton candy for Lacey and Hunter. We filled in the papers to have Lacey's package sent to resort package pick up and were off to the Backlot Tour.

When we arrived at the Backlot Tour, the wait said 10 minutes. I'm glad that was all because John really doesn't like the tour. He used to like it back when it included the tour through the neighborhood of "star" houses but now he just doesn't care for it. Anyway, we hopped in line and were soon watching the people get doused with water.

As we walked through the prop house, we got to see a lot of really neat props that we hadn't seen before. I like that they change out the props from time to time.

Soon, we were riding a tram and listening to the castmember telling us all about the various props that were along the tram's path. When we got to the area where you could see the Lights Motor Action Stunt Show, they told us that the last show of the day would start in about 40 minutes. We have to see the show every trip. We made a plan to jump off the tram as soon as it stopped, rush through the display building thing after the tour and dash over to the Lights Motor Action line. Everybody was cool with this until we got off the tram and into the building.....there were Star Wars costumes. We stopped just long enough to let me take pictures which are amongst the lost pictures.

We scurried through the rest of the displays and were soon doing a super fast paced walk to the stunt show theater. Hunter and I found the hidden Mickey in the window of the building in the line but didn't stop to take a picture because the castmembers were waving us to get to the theater.

We were able to get pretty decent seats. For some reason, the show was delayed by about 10 minutes and we sat in the sweltering heat waiting. I'm not one that normally sweats but I could feel beads of sweat on my back and chest. It was that hot! In my mind, I swore at my boss for asking me to schedule my vacation for August instead of May.:sad2:

While we were waiting on the show to start, I used my camera to zoom in on the various building sets. I had seen a picture somewhere on the Disboards of a hidden Mickey in one of the windows. I looked and looked and looked while I sweated and sweated and sweated. Never did find it!

The show started and both Lacey and I took lots of pictures so that if one of us didn't capture something the other would. Somewhere around the middle of the show, a tire blew out on one of the bad guy cars. A forklift looking machine came out and, literally, picked up the car and took it off. It was neat to watch while we sweated. (Is sweated even a word?)

After the show was over, we waited while a lot of the crowd left the theater and then made our way down and out of the theater. While we waited, it was decided that I'd walk over to Rock n' Roller Coaster and get a Fastpass while everybody else kind of looked around.

Again, I zigged and I zagged and I worked my way through the crowds until I finally reached Rock n' Roller Coaster. I went around the curve and BAM.....no Fastpasses left. Darn it! I turned around and started to squirm my way back through the guests who were going towards Rock n' Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. I felt like a salmon trying to swim upstream!

*****Interruption: Boss needs something.

Loving the update - not loving that you lost your pics! I'm so sorry. I'd be so MAD about that! :headache: Maybe Lacey can hook you up with some of her pics????

I've told her to bring her laptop home with her over Thanksgiving. That way, she can put her pictures on my home computer.

I know you are looking forward to seeing her!

I wanted to remark on the backlot tour - I did that in 2006 and I enjoyed it, but it could be made a bit more exciting, though, don't you think? The stunt show is NOT my favorite thing. If I never saw it again, I'd be happy! But, I'm just not that in to cars or anything fast like that, I guess. But I'm glad you guys made it into the show on time. That would have been neat to have found the hidden Mickey in the window! Well, that will give you incentive to go back and keep looking.

Sorry Lacey was not feeling well.
That would have been neat to see the car get a flat and the forklift take it away! LMA is not one of my fave shows but River loves so I guess I will keep going back for as long as they have it. River never noticed Herby gets split in 2 befor and when he saw it this time he was very concerned for Herby but I told him it was all part of his act.
I also feel backlot tour is lacking. This is the first year River went on it we loved cast. canyon but the part where you first go in with the ships was not working that day bummer. I miss the houses too. It kinda just feels like a ride around the back of LMA.
Have fun in Branson!

Good morning, Lisa...thanks for the wishes that things turn around for us. I hope so too. My best friend's mom passed yesterday and hopefully that is the end of the bad news for awhile.

Kathy, I'm so sorry for your friend and for you. More icky news for you. It will get better. You have had more than your share.

Lisa,

Check Priceline for Branson lodging. I was able to pull up the Ramada Resort And Conference Center for $54.00 a night its the special "FREECHOP" offer and that is without having to name your own price. Its located on the West side of town. From the pics it looks really nice. My parents had a time share in Branson for years and would go at least twice a year. Its a fun place and is really cool during Christmas :santa:. If you get a chance visit the different Show lobbies most in the past have been decorated up really well.

Morning everybody!

Sorry I haven't had time to Dis much this morning. I'm trying to get my desk cleaned off before we close at Noon.

John and I are off for Hot Springs as soon as I get off work. I left the clothes out and ready for John to put in suitcases. I didn't want to get them out of the attic last night.

Everybody keep your fingers, toes, legs, arms and eyes crossed that we at least win some kind of door prize. I just know we won't be getting that $12,000.00 diamond ring that's the ultimate prize.

We are staying at the historic Arlington for the first time ever. I've been going to Hot Springs every since I was little and have never stayed there.

Wish us luck!

So I decided to give John a test. I sent him a text message just a minute or two ago that said "Making sure you are up and getting ready to go. xoxo Lisa" You know what he did? Waited a minute or two and called me. He said I saw that you called. I told him no, I sent you a text message. His response? I don't know how to do that. We're in big trouble!

The Arlington. How nice. John may well get lucky. :rotfl2: My dad took me when I was 16 to the horse races and we stayed at the Arlington. It is gorgeous. Have lots of fun. We will expect a full update on Monday.

Good luck Lisa! I hope you win the diamond AND the door prizes. Have a great time!

Have a terrific weekend! Nothing like getting away, just the two of you. And I'm sending you all the pixie dust I can so that you come back with something good. pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:
