Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Great update!!! Whispering Canyon is the one definate sit down dinner I have and you just locked it in stone!!! I really think Danny is going to love it!! and would approve of the food; that pecan pie looks DELISH!!...I love how the resort looks!!! I can't wait to see it for Christmas I heard it is beautiful!!! :santa: wish I could afford to stay there (maybe--who knows:confused3 )
:wave2:

jen~ great fall shots; as always!!!

Hi Lisa! An afternoon by the pool sounds delightful! I'm glad you took the time to do that.

Isaiah is very self conscious about his weight. He's a bit on the chubby side, but I have a feeling he won't be for too much longer. I expect him to shoot up in height really soon. Jeff went through a chubby pre-teen stage too, so I'm not too concerned. I did get a call from his gym teacher saying he wasn't changing for gym though. How sad that he is that body conscious at 12. Ugh. :sad2:

I LOVE Little People, Big World! You and I have very similar television tastes! How did you feel about Dave winning Hell's Kitchen??

Can't wait to hear about WCC. It's one place we would definitely like to try!

We had a great time just hanging out and swimming. It's just so hard for me knowing that there are four, count 'em, four theme parks out there just waiting on me to come on in.

I really wondered if Hunter would have a problem dressing out for p.e. too since he's getting a little self conscious. So far, so good. All of us keep telling him how tall he is getting. Any time he says anything about getting a belly on him, we say we all do.

I love Little People Big World. I can tell that Amy is getting more and more frustrated with Matt. They have already made a couple of references to their spats. Matt needs a stop button or at least a slower-downer. What's that thing they have on go-carts and scooters......a governor!

Hunter and I watched the last episode of Hell's Kitchen and were on pins and needles waiting to see who won. John, on the other hand, fell asleep in the recliner. We were rooting for Dave and were so happy when he won! The one handed cooking machine!

We really enjoyed our meal at the Whispering Canyon. Everything we ate was delicious.

Great Update!!

It sounds like you had such a nice, relaxing afternoon at CBR!!--and YAY!! for finding money in the sand!!:yay:

Can't wait to hear about WCC!!!

When we got back to the room, Hunter had to tell Lacey about the money we had found. You would have thought we found a pirate's treasure chest.:rotfl:

You guys are like us. I hate coffee. Skip drinks it in the monrnng, but he does instant. If it's super crappy, he likes it. LOL!

I do not like coffee. I have even "doctored" it up with creamer or milk or sugar or flavors and I just don't care for it. John could drink pots of it a day.

I thought you put the dessert menu up twice for me. That is my fav part of any meal. If you are still hungry you can have food. Altho that food looked good. I hear from some it is very good and from others not so much. I do think it is the atmosphere that makes food really good tho.

Ginny

Finally, I'm all caught up now! Some how I got behind. :confused3

I cannot stand heat and humidity! I'd probably melt like the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz if I evey went to WDW during the summer. "What a world! What a world!"

We've gone to Disney all different times of the year....May, June, August, September and November. It's never ever been as hot as it was this past trip. I usually don't sweat and I was sweatin'!

Ok so I wanted to finally say hi! I found your report a couple weeks ago and I was finally able to read the whole thing!! (I dont have a ton of time on the computer so it takes me a while)

Love your report so far! You guys all look like your having so much fun!

Looking forward to more! Although if I keep reading everyone elses I'm never going to have time to start my own!!! Thats ok though!

Welcome aboard! I love new readers. We do have a lot of fun together. This trip was extra special since Lacey was able to come along with us.

When you do decided to start your trip report, please post a link for us. I love reading reports.

I can't wait to hear about WCC we are eating there for the first time this trip.

Just posted pictures of Whispering Canyon!

Thanks! That's good to know. I bet DH will be ok with the room coffee. He usually takes longer to get going in the morning than I do, so I think I'll try to get him to take a paper cup of coffee on the bus and pick up more in the park if he wants it. I'll have to make up a map of all the places to get coffee. ;)

And they say women are the slow ones.:confused3 John takes more time to get ready than I do.

Our local Dollar Tree had the coffee cups and lids like you get at Starbucks. I bought them before the trip but forgot to bring them with us.

Hello Lisa, I've been absent pretty much since Thursday evening. It was busy but fun. We did win our football game Friday. Totally awesome. The boys were so excited. I'm in downtime mode now. Put chicken on to cook for chicken and noodles for dinner. Taking life easy. Enjoy the rest of your day. Christine is off tomorrow so Doc and I will be very busy tomorrow.

Ginny

I was missing in action most of Friday and all weekend. Just didn't have time to Dis or anything else for that matter.

I bet the boys were excited to win! I saw the pictures that Don took of the muddy game.

heh, heh, just caught up from last time i commented on 9/8/09. *whew* that was about 38 pages for me to catch up, that's a lot of clicking :D

Can wait to hear about your whispering canyon ADR, I am mulling over going there in Jan. :)

*hugs* Wenonah

We do like to talk don't we! I would definitely recommend Whispering Canyon. Everything we ate was excellent.

Here's some recent Fall looking pics I took

Aren't her pictures gorgeous!

Jen: Did you ever find out the results of the Disney princess picture contest?

Hey Lisa, I am so excited that we will be there at the same time :yay::woohoo:. It is going to be so much fun :cheer2::dance3:. I told Leanne we need to make plans to all meet up and maybe even have a girls only plan :thumbsup2.

As soon as I read your dates and I posted that we'd be there at the same time, I walked into the living room to tell John. Then, I had to tell Hunter 'cause he's not that much older than Dallas.

I am hoping against hope that my boss doesn't want me to change my dates to August. He kind of dropped a hint last week about my dates. He better not or I'll sock him in the nose!

Good morning Lisa. Hope you are having a good Monday. Raining here of course. Like I would ever expect something different. It is in the 50's so that does help a little. Just me and the Doc today so a little busy with Monday phones.

Have a good day.

Ginny

It's sprinkling rain here too. The forecast calls for rain all afternoon and tomorrow. I think they said our high was 72 today.

Hope that your day is going well and not too busy.

lol well photobucket probably knows I'm waiting to see & hear about WCC from you so it went on the fritz to make me wait.

Just got the pictures and installment posted. It took me two tries.

I think ya'll would enjoy Whispering Canyon. Everything was soooo good. The bourbon in the pecan pie was a little strong for me. But John liked it.

I thought you put the dessert menu up twice for me. That is my fav part of any meal. If you are still hungry you can have food. Altho that food looked good. I hear from some it is very good and from others not so much. I do think it is the atmosphere that makes food really good tho.

Ginny

You know what......I did put it on there twice just for you. I wish I had had more room for the rest of my dessert,

I forgot to mention that I asked about the berry dome dessert and Heda just shook her head no. When I asked if that meant it wasn't good and she shook her head yes. I am sure she can't come right out and say it's bad but I knew what she meant.

I could have had that smores cheesecake. No fair you all going next May. When I found out that Connie and I were there at the same time last year I all but was thankful we didn't know each other then. If I knew one of my friends was there when I was and we didn't meet I would be very disheartened. Don insists no vacay next year. If it gets him to retire next Dec I'm all for it. He is finally back to 8 hr days after his injury and not liking it one bit. I think that injury was a godsend. As does he. It has made him realize that life is not all about work.

The food at WCC looks fabulous! The only thing that stopped us from eating there on our 2007 trip was the transportation situation. We were new to the whole thing and had heard that going from resort to resort was not easy so we stuck to restaurants in the parks. This past year we were on the QSDP and the only meal we paid for OOP was a character meal. It's definitely on the list for our next visit!

Have Lacey and Hunter always been close? My boys argue and bicker all of the time and I really hope someday they will enjoy each other's company!

The Wilderness Lodge doesn't do much for me either. It's pretty, don't get me wrong, but I'd stay at other deluxe resorts before I tried that one.

Where are you off to next?? popcorn::

Hi Lisa! Loving your updates!! DH and I absolutely LOVE the food at Wispering Canyon! We have been there twice. One of the times being on our honeymoon. Both times we were seated in that same section you all were sitting. We too missed out on all the fun! This is the only thing that bugs me at Disney. Sometimes I feel if you don't have little children with you, they don't "mess" with you! Every trip I have ever taken to Disney, my family and I go to the 50s Prime Time Cafe! Well, the first time I took DH, then BF, to the Prime Time, not a thing went on! I was so disappointed. That has happened several times to us. Finally, in 2007, we went to Disney with my parents and two brothers. My youngest brother was about 16 at the time, looked about 13 though! They finally "messed" with us at the Prime Time!!! It was SO funny! But low and behold, in 2008, on our honeymoon, we got nothing! :confused3 I just don't get it! Anyway. Glad to see you enjoyed the meal! SO yummy there!!! Can't wait to read more!

OH NO :scared1::eek:. He better not make you change your dates. Tell him you have a very important meeting in Orlando, that you are the President of the U.S. chapter of MOMs (Mouse obsessed Moms), and that it is the annual convention for all officers.........:lmao::rotfl:

Thanks!

I love the WCC. We had a good time and i loved the shakes as well as dessert! I really could go for some cheesecake right now. I wish I lived close to a cheesecake factory!

Just catching up on a lot of posts today. I hope your boss doesn't ask you to change your dates either. I've not told my boss yet when we want to go next year. I know he "missed" me when I was gone this year and not sure with him turning 84 if he can handle it again.

I'm glad you enjoyed your meal at the WCC. We sat in the exact same spot when we were there last year. Unfortunately, our meal (we had the skillet too) was awful and we won't be going back (and I won't even mention how awful the service was).

Lisa, I am so enjoying your report. I have enjoyed every picture too. I know you are having problems with Photobucket. Have you ever tried Shutterfly? I use them and have never had a problem. Just a thought.

Can't wait for more.

I think we sat in the same place as you did, and had the same server, last Sept. I think we missed out a bit on the fun. Or, at least I did - the kids went out and took part in some of it, and DH took pics, but I stayed behind with the little guy. Oh, and Hedda actually had to drag my older two out for the ketchup thing, and she ended up screaming it instead because they wouldn't. :rotfl2: But Haley LOVED delivering to others, of course.

Glad you had another good meal. We ended up taking our desserts (apple pie - REALLY good) back to the room to eat with us. DH still talks about their bottomless milk shakes. He enjoyed the bubblegum one (yuck, I say, but there you go...).

Great update!

Hi, I love reading your trip reports. This is the 2nd one i have read. I didn't realize that until the ghost update. Work has been so slow it's nice to have something to read. I just have to remember not to LOL which is hard to do when reading this report:lmao:. I can't wait to read more.popcorn::

Hi there! Connie (longing2Batdisney) suggested I come over and check out your report. She was right, it is fantastic! We were considering WCC but I think you have persuaded us to give it a shot. Thanks for the great pics and details. :goodvibes

With our stomachs full as can be from our great meal at the Whispering Canyon, we waddled over to the Wilderness Lodge store to have a look around. The kids went one way and John and I another.

Wait: I made the kids stop and rub Humphrey's nose. Just one of the pictures came out though.

Back to shopping: I found a very pretty silver and clear stone bracelet that I really liked. I have small wrists and most bracelets do not fit me. But this one did because it had the clear elastic strings. The only problem was the clear stone ones were all stretched out. There were other colors but I wanted a clear one so I could wear it with everything. Oh well, I'll just look elsewhere.

John came over and asked me to come look at some whistles he had found. They were the neatest things.....they were made out of little small sections of deer horns. Each were about 3 to 4 inches long. We picked out two, one for John and one for his brother. We also found a t-shirt for John. Lacey and Hunter came along about that time and they were ready to go since there was nothing in the store that they felt they needed. I checked out and put the bag down in my drawstring backpack.

We walked down by the pool and found the walkway to the boat dock. It was already dark out. I have got to say, I was a bit put off by the way the guests were running all around and nearly bumping into some of us walking on the walkway. It wasn't just kids either...there were adults trotting around.

Once we got to the boat dock, there were about four other families already waiting and more were behind us. We waited about 15 minutes and a boat docked. This time, we chose to sit in the back. Hunter and John sat in the front row and Lacey and I in the second. Before we even hit the water good, John was nodding off.

We arrived back at the Magic Kingdom and I had to take more pictures:

***I am stopping here because Photobucket site went down again. I think it has something to do with my office computer.

Glad you enjoyed WCC! We ate their last December and thought everything was really good. We got a kick out of the ketchup deal.

John took the camera and took a picture of Lacey and I:
100_2713.jpg

We made it through the turnstiles and decided the first thing we wanted to do was The Laugh Floor since Lacey hadn't seen it yet. I tried taking a picture of the castle and it took out pretty bad but I'll post it anyway just to take you on the walk with us:

100_2715.jpg

Hunter had Lacey text in a joke since his got chosen last time. I can't remember what the joke was but I remember it was corny. I led the way when the doors opened so I could try to get us seats near the lamp things. No such luck! It was worth a shot. The show started and we were all laughing...John especially. He loves anything remotely funny. The man two rows in front of us was chosen as "that guy" and he played the part really well. Next, it came time for the jokes that were texted in. Hunter's was chosen! Cool....two years in a row!

We left the theater and Lacey said she wanted to ride the TTA. I told her it was closed and she couldn't believe it. It's one of our favorite rides. I know there's nothing special about the ride itself but we enjoy it.

Hunter looked over at the wait time for Stitch's Great Escape and it was just 5 minutes. John did not want to do this at all. He absolutely can not stand Stitch. The rest of us jumped in line and were soon ushered into the pre-show area and eventually into the theater itself. We usually sit at least two rows back but there were front row seats open and Hunter wanted to sit there. As soon as we were strapped in, I looked up and the big round light arm thing was right above our heads. I told Lacey and Hunter "I bet we get wet." Sure enough, Stitch spit on us and we were sprinkled with water a couple of times. At least the chili dog smell wasn't very strong this time.:thumbsup2

We found John still sitting outside the theater. He said he was ready to kick some booty on Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. There was just a 5 minute wait and there was nobody outside the building. We knew the short wait times were because the Spectro Magic parade was going on. We had another day in the Magic Kingdom to watch the parade so we weren't worried about missing it. Right now, we were going to infinity and beyond!

There were four castmembers standing at the front chattering away and blocking the entrance to the line. We stood there a few minutes thinking they would move. When they didn't, we said "excuse me" and stepped around them. Since there was nobody at all in the line, we ducked under the next chain. Suddenly one of the castmembers turned around and yelled at us to stop. He told us we were never to break in a line and that he should make us go all the way back around. John just looked at him and said "Mister, you're not going to make me walk through three rounds of a non-existent line when there is absolutely nobody outside this building." The castmember looked at us and said, "I'll let you go this time." I'm surprised John didnt' say something else to the guy. I really am. We certainly weren't cutting in a line....there wasn't one to cut into.:confused3 And, why in the world would they make us walk all the way the left side of the building and around three times and then go into the building? :confused3

In no time at all, we were boarding our spaceship and were off to score some points! John and Hunter were in one and Lacey and I were in another. I usually take some pretty good pictures on the ride but this time, they didn't turn out so well.

100_2718.jpg

100_2719.jpg

John scored the most points. Next up was Hunter, then Lacey and I came in last place. John and Hunter wanted to ride again. Lacey and I needed a potty break. I snapped a picture first.

100_2720.jpg

John and Hunter came out just a few minutes after Lacey and I did. Hunter won the rematch! As we were standing there wondering what to do next, we heard a boom and then saw this:

100_2723.jpg

Wishes had started! We stayed right where we were and watched the rest of the fireworks. I am so not a fireworks picture taker but I still try:

It was neat to watch the fireworks from Tomorrowland. It's a totally different perspective.

Up next: Fantasyland!
