OK! for those who have followed Lisa's last report you will know why I brought this over...

Lisa, just had to shake my head and shrug my shoulders at this one! but, it did make me think of John and his sore foot! you have to look at the lady's face as she is doing this
(I don't get it if you are that miserable; why waste your money and time :confused3 )

and glad ur mom is home now:)

YEAH for your mom being home!! I'm glad she's doing well...and I'm glad she has someone like you taking care of her that understands how much she needs to rest right now and not be hovered over!!! Thanks for keeping us updated!

Thanks for posting that YouTube link, Connie! Too funny! What did she want everyone to do? It looked like everyone was headed out, and she should have just gone with the flow...some people :confused3

Glad to hear your mom is home Lisa! I know that will help her recovery speed up! :flower3:

and I agree with Ginny and Mel to follow; I believe everyone is fine with ONE thankyou, we are not sending you prayers for personal recongnition!!! ;)

We were in AK on the sunday before Memorial Day this year boy was it crowded every park the ENTIRE week was packed!!! I will never plan a trip that week again; I should have known better!:upsidedow But, that was how we were able to go with Dayne's last day of school. although, I think if the tropical system would not have been sitting in the Atlantic the crowds would have been easier to deal with. :confused3

have a great weekend! I know you will be taking care of your mom!:grouphug:

P.S. I have been watching the rumor board, the touringguide, and mousesavers :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

It's good to know that I have such good Disboard friends!

I hate that you had such a bad experience over the Memorial Day weekend. We have gone that time of year several times and we didn't have any big problems with crowds.

I've been watching the rumor boards too!

Don't send your neice to see me this weekend. I think I'm really busy.

Hunter will be so glad to see her when he gets home. All the schools in are area are closed today for some reason or another. I hope to be out of here in an hour. We are going to Branson for the football game tonite.

I'm like you I wouldn't let her be driving just yet either. It's a good thing Hunter is a big boy or she would be picking him up to hug. If she is like me and I think she is, she wants to anyway. There is nothing that I would love more just to hold them like you did when they were small.

I know about lack of sleep in the hospital. Ridiculous how they wake you every 2 hours. Even when I had a private room the last two times the nurses would not leave me alone.

I think I speak for all your dis friends that we understand you have been a little busy and personal notes are not necessary.

Our best to you and Mom

Ginny

Too bad, Ginny, my niece is already in Branson and is on her way to your house.:lmao: Seriously, she really is in Branson but she's not on her way to your house.;)

I don't know who is happier that Mama is home......Mama or Hunter. It's all I can do to keep Hunter from spending every waking moment at her house. But, I know what Mama would do if he were over there.......wait on Hunter hand and foot. She definitely doesn't need to do that.

She's gotten lots of hugs and kisses since she got home. We just don't hug her on the right side since that's where the incisions are.

She got about three hours of uninterrupted sleep yesterday afternoon which was just what she needed.

Glad your mother is at home! Hope all continues to go well.

I'm sure most of us on here aren't expecting individual replies to our well wishes! We understand!!! :goodvibes No need to apologize, I'm sure!

I just love all of ya'll! You are all so understanding!

I'm glad that she's home too. Now, if I could just get her to quit worrying about her droopy mouth. It's not real noticable but when she talks it is. It looks similar to my Bell's Palsy.

I hope the rumors are true too! I am keeping my fingers crossed that they extend it out to include our travel dates!

I wish I had taken even more pictures than I did.

I will have to check that out when I get home. Youtube is another wonderful commodity banned from the workplace!

Did you get a chance to watch it?

We are super excited to have her home too! She and I are a lot alike......don't bother me too much.....I'll call you when and if I need you.

I know....some people!

Up next on our Animal Kingdom tour was Rafiki's Planet Watch. We didn't have far to walk before we spotted this sign:

After a short walk, we were in the train station. While we waited on the train, I took pictures:

Soon, we heard the blow of the train whistle and we saw the train coming around the bend:

Closer:

We were directed to a car near the end. The castmember, Pat, who narrates during the ride was in the car with us. Pat picked up the speaker and told people to get their arms and hands in or the train would not start. Did they listen? Apparently not, because she had to make the announcement not one, not two but three times. We chatted with Pat during the ride and she told us that two of the elephants were in their enclosures as was a rhino and some kind of hooved animal (I'm going to call it a deer because I can't remember what the correct name was.) They were all getting check-ups today.

Before long, we were at the train station at Rafiki's Planet Watch. We walked along the trail and once in the clearing we saw this:

100_2363.jpg

And, then........dun, dun, dun (doom and gloom music).....my camera turned off by itself again. Ugh!!!!!!!!!

The first thing we wanted to do at Planet Watch was look for new hidden Mickeys. I don't have many pictures to post of the hidden Mickeys but we found several new ones. I know that Lacey took some pictures of them but I haven't uploaded them to photobucket yet. When I do, I'll post them.

These are the few I took pictures of before my camera died again.

This is one of the new ones we found:

People kept looking at us while we were searching for hidden Mickeys. Obviously, they weren't "in the know" when it comes to hidden Mickeys. :confused3

We walked over to the veterinary viewing area and there were a few people gathered around. A castmember told us to look over in the corner and we could see the Animal Kingdom veterinary staff taking x-rays of the deer that Pat had told us about. They were in a room off to the side so we could not see them well. They did have it on a television monitor but it was a bit small. The castmember told the crowd what they were doing and that they would soon be bringing it out soon so we could all see. After waiting about 15 minutes, we decided to not wait any longer.

There were several animals on display in different viewing enclosures for guests to look at. I tried turning on my camera again and I was able to take just one picture before it shut off again. This praying mantis was cool:

Before going back to the train station, we shopped around in the little store outside of Planet Watch. They had a shirt that looked like you had on a tan vest with buttons on it. It was really cute and Lacey declared she had to have it. She made her purchase and we were off to the train station. While on the train, we decided we were all hungry and we needed food! Our choices were Pizzafari and Flame Tree. Because it was so hot, we chose Pizzafari. Indoor seating and air conditioning!

Luckily, there was hardly anybody in the restaurant and we were able to walk right up to the register.

Lacey and Hunter ordered the cheese pizza combos. I ordered the pepperoni pizza combo and John ordered the Italian Stack Sandwich with chips. I can't remember exactly what three of the desserts were but they were chocolate. John got an apple pie.

I decided to try out the camera again and was able to take pictures again. I had no idea what was wrong with the darn thing.

A picture of our food:

I thought this light fixture was really neat:

We sat around for a while and just enjoyed being with each other. We laughed at Lacey and Hunter when they did Napoleon Dynamite impressions. Then, they started doing the dance he did in the movie. John and I were rolling. What few people were in the room with us were chuckling too!

We also discussed what we wanted to do next and finally decided that we'd go over and see how long the wait was for It's Tough To Be A Bug.

Would we get to visit with Flik or would the wait time scare us away?

Great update Lisa. Thanks for the pics of the Pizzafari food! We are planning to eat there in November.

Glad your mom is home. :goodvibes

Lisa, so glad to hear that your mom is home--that is great news! I've caught up with most of your report. We're still in Marco and this computer throws me off every 10 minutes. Thanks for the PM; we're having a great time in Marco Island. Today we spent 90 minutes with Nicki of MickeyNicki (she does all the great food reviews). You'd think we'd known each other forever and were not just meeting for the first time. We talked and laughed and had a great time (poor Mark could hardly get a word in edge wise). Now, back to catching up on your trip report.

Great update!!!

I would like to make a confession... I would like to grow up to be just like you! Here I am waiting for my trip to happen and I have read one of your trip reports, am currently reading your latest trip report, and I look at your ticker and you lucky, lucky dog are going back in less than 9 months... and here I am, still waiting... but hey - 70 days tomorrow!!!

It is a good thing your sis didn't come over last night. I did not get to go to Austin's game. I was home under the weather. Feel better today but now Don has whatever it is. I didn't even sleep with him last night. I didn't want to give him anything.

I put a video link on my TR on Austin's game last night. It was on one of the local tv stations.

Now back to you.

I know exactly how your mom feels. She wants everyone there and she wants no one there. You are right tho. If Hunter were there all the time she would be worrying if he had what he needed and be so concerned about him she would wear herself out. I am glad she is home for you tho.

Good update. I know you are one of the families we stare at when at the park after everyone quits staring at us and our antics. I feel like I was right there with you. Oh, I was. Thank John for saving that one last bite of apple pie for me. I was hungry too.

I'm so excited we get to go see ITTBAB next. I love that show. Except for the stink bug part. I can't wait to see if we liked it this time.

Ginny

Love the hidden Mickey's I can't wait to go back and see how many more we can find!:earboy2:

I love the safari and train ride at AK! so relaxing and exciting all at the same time...

Have a great weekend! :wave2:

so glad to hear your mama is home and doing well, I will keeping praying that she has a continued speedy recovery.

Great trip update and pics as always!

Do any of you remember when they were supposed to stop taking applications for the 2010 Disney Mom's Panel? Just wondering.

I forgot to mention that I booked our 2010 Disney vacation today. I have no idea what I have been waiting on because I settled on our dates a while ago. If they do come out with a deal for our travel dates, I'll call and have it applied to our existing reservation. I've done that before so, surely, it won't be a problem.
